There are some times too many tea places in the Aiea area to choose from but TEA SPOT is one of the best spots. The parking at Waimalu shopping center is ample, there's a seating area with very cute decor and photo spots! Drinks are made upon order and the service is good. If you love blind boxes there is a corner of goodies for sale and a nice display of them at the cash wrap. We recently also tried a soufflé crepe and it was very instagram-able and delicious! Refreshing beverage at Waimalu Shopping Center in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i... Since we were here already for lunch and had free parking, we decided to go to Tea Spot, near Palama Market. The only inconvenient thing was the restroom, or lack of restroom. We had to go to Palama Market and find the restroom in the far corner, past th meat department... it was kinda spooky. LOL! The young gal at the counter was pleasant and efficient! I saw the sign for Peach Tea as a Summer Special and ordered one. It was light and great for calming down my burning mouth from the Thai food I had just had. Haha! I also got Stitch blind boxes. It was fun to open and very cute! A friend saw this place on Instagram and wanted to check it out, so we went with a group of seven. We got there about an hour before closing, and there was only one person working, so things came out slowly but no big deal. We ordered four soufflés -- chocolate, brown sugar, strawberry, and matcha -- plus a few drinks with boba. I tried the avocado smoothie with boba, which was just okay (definitely had better). My friend said the same about her strawberry tea. We all got to sample the soufflés, and the chocolate and strawberry ones were the winners. They came out one by one since everything's made fresh, but they were warm and fluffy, so worth the wait! It was everyone's first time trying soufflés like this, so that made it fun. The place itself is small and cute with comfy chairs in different sizes, a claw machine game, and some little collectible toys for sale. We basically had the place to ourselves, which was nice. Another great boba and dessert spot! I love that the soufflé pancakes are more available all around Hawaii! It's one of my favorite things and that was the biggest reason why I came here. I saw that they had a great deal for summer and their pancakes looks great so I knew I had to stop by. I was still pregnant at the time so I couldn't have a lot of sugar or caffeine so I just ordered the fruity pancakes. I'll come back and try the boba drinks soon! Inside the store was pretty packed with chairs, enough room to move around, but if they ever get busy it would get loud and not a lot of room to adjust seating. The decoration is also a mix of all kinds of toys and random stuff. I don't know if their main clientele they're trying to attract is families with young kids or teens or maybe both? I just know I don't see myself staying here for a long time. I'm going off the assumption that they would also want to attract students who stay a long time and study like most boba spots. Of course, they told me that it would take about 10 - 15 minutes, and I didn't mind waiting, I knew what I signed up for. I also had my dog with me so I asked for blueberries on the side so that I could share with him. The pancakes were great, but a little dry since the only thing topping it was syrup. I do like the fruit combo though because it made me feel like I was being a little healthy. Something I wish I did was try the brown sugar boba since that's usually my go-to. Wanted bubble tea. There's two spots in this area but this place looked like they had more fruit teas so decided to try it. Got the passion fruit lemon tea with boba. They used fresh passion fruit and lemon in my tea which was awesome! The boba were also a good consistency. You can choose your sweetness. Got it 50% sweet which was still a little too sweet for me so I would get 25% next time. The place is clean and server was friendly. Tea Spot is located in Waimalu Shopping Center, near Palama. There is another boba place on the town side of the mall, but I'm not always a fan of the other place's drinks. Tea spot has the usual offerings: milk tea, fruit tea and smoothies, all customizable with toppings. They also have a small shop with little things. I like that there is plenty of parking and places to sit inside. They play good music, the cashier was nice and I'd probably be back next time I'm in the area. I came kind of randomly one day looking for boba. Because I hadn't tried this place before, I didn't really know what to expect. My expectations were kinda low tbh. I like most drinks at places like this and it's usually pretty hard for me to decide. So I asked the cashier what she would recommend and she gave be a couple ideas, but they were already starred as favorites on the menu. I ended up ordering a watermelon tea and it was basically blended up watermelon with tea and a little sugar. It was nice and refreshing, but not out of this world. I actually prefer getting this specific drink at a different boba spot because it comes in a latte version. I wonder if Tea Spot would attempt a latte version if I asked. They have a table in the middle when you enter filled with Knick knacks online gadgets.... etc. To the left against the wall are all kinds of crack seeds THATS MY HUSBANDS area! We came here to get boba but was curious about the soufflé. The photos of the menu on the glass look so appetizing we decided the get a brown sugar soufflé along with thai milk tea and mango smoothie. Thai milk tea is not bad, i've had better at other shops. Mango smoothie was tasty, love that it's fresh mango. Boba is soft and chewy, needs more sugar though. Brown sugar soufflé comes with 3 light fluffy cakes on top drizzled with brown sugar and cream topped with boba pearls. Tasted really good, love that it's not super sweet since as getting older, i'm not super into sweet foods. The boba on top just compliments the brown sugar. Stopped by for some sweet treats on Saturday around 2pm. When I entered there was a young lady behind the counter on her phone. When I walked up to look at the menu she seemed irritated at my being there. I told her that there were 4 of us and we would all be ordering drinks. I also wanted 2 souffle pancakes. She took my order unenthusiactically. As she rang up my items I noticed 2 passion fruit lemonade entered on the order screen for $0. I said oh that sounds good what is that. She pointed to a paper on the plexiglass in front of the register. I hadn't noticed it before, it said that a free passion fruit lemonade would be given with any souffle order as a mother's day promotion. After feeling rushed to order she asked dine in or take out. I told her we would be dining in. We sat and waited for our order. Everything was delicious. I had to ask for forks to eat the souffle pancakes with since none were given at the time we received the items. I was disappointed with the unfriendly service as this was the first time I encountered this here but I understand everyone has a bad day once in a while. Eh, totally not my favorite boba tea spot. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, there was no one inside. We ordered a chocolate coconut smoothie, a wintermelon tea with Lychee jelly at 50% sweetness, and a choco oreo soufflé pancakes. My mom and daughter enjoyed the smoothie! The wintermelon tea was okay, I've had better, but it was refreshing! The soufflé pancakes were okay. There were two oreo cookies on top that my kids enjoyed. But otherwise, it wasn't very exciting. The soufflé pancakes themselves were not warm, or as fluffy as I've had at other places. And the "sauce" was literally just needed chocolate ice cream. I dint think they were worth $14. The service... was okay. Not very fast, but also not too slow. Didn't think we should have waited as long as we did for Luke warn pancakes with melted ice cream. Tried this place to get our boba fix and although the ambiance and shop is cute, the drinks were sub par. Somehow we been on a boba fix this week so we've tried various places like TEAPRESSO in Wahiawa and Top Tea in Liliha, and this place disappoints. Lady was nice and quick too. But the drinks were not flavorful. I had the Thai coffee smoothie with boba. Boba was not tasty at all and I couldn't taste much of the coffee. My husband had the honeydew smoothie and he too said it didn't taste much like honeydew, as though it was watered down. My sis has the Taro smoothie with boba and she too didn't finish her drink as it too wasn't flavorful. I gave 3 stars because service was good and the size of the drink definitely was good compared to other tea shops. Sorry had to minus 2 stars due to flavor and taste. Hopefully owner fixes that and adds more fruit or coffee to improve taste. read more

It certainly did hit the spot! Since I was in the area on this unusually warm day I decided to search for a tea spot...poof! Here it is Tea Spot lol!! This woman-owned and operated biz with its bright and minimalist decor though thoughtfully placed wall arts from a whale to the popular angel wings did make it a fun photo op with my tea. With classic categories of Milk Tea, Fruit Tea, Smoothies and something new for me Fresh Milk. Not a fan of smoothies more so with the unknown mix of or lack of fruit I do tend to keep the ingredients simple without being a Karen asking too many questions. More of a fruit tea lover I was delighted to see a lovely list of choices though it's made with only Jasmine tea. Understandably keeping things simple is a cost effective solution though the lack of choices didn't impress me when you give yourself the name of Tea Spot. I stuck with what usually works is the Passionfruit Tea with sweetness of 25%. I did like it but sadly tasted a bit light as a lack of something...it could be the choice of tea but it took care of my cravings and I was happy. Thank you! read more

First in line, last to get my drink. Very unfriendly, no smile, no care. Paid $8 for a boba drink that I finished in two sips. There was too much ice, barely any boba. It's hot in there and dirty. I am new to boba, and thought i would stop in to check it out because it was close by. The other boba shops I've been to are clean and the drinks are larger. I came here one afternoon craving for some milk tea. I ordered a classic milk tea with coffee jelly. The lady was really friendly, and took my order with no problem. She was also quick to make my drink. The drink itself was good. It had the right amount of tea flavor and was sweetened just right. First time trying this place since I found a $1 off coupon in the ValPak It was empty when we walked in and the cashier didn't greet us, wasn't very welcoming (lack of customer service) So I said "Hi, it's our first time here, what's your favorite drink?" She spoke to the other lady in the back and then said Ok she can make it with honey. I asked what kind of tea they used in the Strawberry Fruit Tea and she said Green Tea (blank stare) (totally unmotivated job vibes) OK, so I ordered us, One Watermelon Smoothie 25% sweetener and One Strawberry Fruit Tea with 0% sweetener, add only Honey. After she made the drinks she just placed it on the counter. She didn't say thank you or anything. The Watermelon Smoothie was mostly ice and my Strawberry Fruit Tea was very diluted and not much flavor, just blah. (It totally just dawned on me, that I know EVERYTHING is ENERGY - so I should've known the drinks would be a reflection of the person making it) DUH! lol We asked if they could remake the Watermelon Smoothie with more Watermelon than ice and the cashier, Michelle said, ok she can remake it. (no apology) She asked if we wanted it with more sweetener? We said no, keep it at 25% just add more watermelon and less ice. The owner Joy, came to the front to explain that the watermelon was not in season and is expensive...? And even if she did add more fruit, they wouldn't be able to mix the ice with it because of the portions....?? And that it wouldn't make much of a difference but she'll remake it for us anyway with more fruit.... Then she asked if we wanted to add more sweetener at 100%? It all sounded like a bunch of BS, so we said, OK, we'll just add 50% sweetener. The remake was slightly better but not worth having again. 2 stars for the Owner remaking the drink yet still - very disappointing experience. We pass this place all the time and decided to give it a try. The ambience was upbeat and modern. We were the only ones there. As nice as it was, we were really disappointed with the customer service. We told the cashier it was our first time there and asked her what was their best seller. She just gave as a generic answer and unmotivated look. Then we asked her about the sweetener options and she just gave us one option, liquid sugar. We asked if they had agave or honey. She said they have honey but was reluctant to give us because they use it for a dessert item. She finally gave in and add the honey. We ordered the Strawberry Fruit Tea and the Watermelon Smoothie with 25% sweetener. The Strawberry seemed like there was not enough strawberries and a little watered down. We couldn't taste the honey. The Watermelon Smoothie was a full cup of crushed ice and after 3 sips, the smoothie was gone leaving only a cup full of crushed ice. I brought it to attention of the owner and she said she'll remake it and add more watermelon but need to add more liquid sweetener 50% to dilute the crushed ice. It's like there trimming just to get by. Sadly to say, everyone is going through a tough time. We saw a new boba place after getting some groceries at Palama and since we were in the area we decided to stop by at the Tea Spot located at Waimalu Shopping Center. We decided to try their soufflé since it looked really yummy! We got the coco Oreo soufflé ($12.95). I also went with a honeydew smoothie ($5.95). I decided to get something I'm used to getting at other boba spots. The drinks came out first and soufflé second. The wait wasn't to long since there wasn't anyone ordering before us. The soufflé was very soft, bouncy and most importantly.. delicious!! Not to mention it looked amazing! Definitely need to come back to try their other flavors. Soft spoken young owner Joy, mans the front counter for ordering and paying. There was another female worker in the kitchen- the orders were given to her in another language. The doors were open before 10 a.m. but when I ordered the two drinks was informed that the brown sugar boba was not ready. I wanted to try a soufflé and was told it will take 15-20 minutes. I repeated the order a few times. Perhaps the newness of a soft opening was the reason. I had high hopes as cocoa and Oreo sounded decadent. It made quite a filling snack but was not sweet. I found out you need to stir the milk tea super well ... without stirring it had a celery aftertaste to me... was it the straw? Or the tea? Or the boba? I was trying to figure it out...oh my. However with vigorous stirring it got better. The shop being almost a week new is clean, bright with wall decals, cute little signs on the right side of the pay counter, a pink Peppa pig decorated basket for tips and a tiny mermaid receptacle for label backing opala(trash) Congratulations on your opening. read more
