Better late than never but I visited Teaberry's for my birthday celebration on April 17. We made a reservation online several weeks in advance as availability can be tricky. This was our first time at their new location. We opted to not use their valet parking service and instead found free street parking not too far away. All three of us ordered the Milady's Tea which included a pot of tea, scone, an array of tea sandwiches, and a tray of desserts. I chose the Vanilla Cookie tea which was lovely and would be a redo for me. I wasn't wild about the selection of scones for the day but I enjoyed my peanut butter candied almond scone. The scones come with sides of lemon curd, preserves, and clotted cream. Even sandwiches that I was a little leery of were delicious! The "Tea Sweets" were also yummy but I was so full I ended up taking most of them home and my husband ate them on me. A very long awaited visit to Teaberry's but I am so happy to report it matched the hype! Teaberry's has always been such a staple in Flemington but I somehow had never been. They closed down for a bit, moved locations and finally reopened so it was a must visit for a Saturday brunch with my friend. She's raved about it to me for so long so my expectations were high. It did not disappoint. You'll walk into basically an explosion of cuteness. Little posh hats, lots of wallpaper, adorable tiny tea pots and cups. You'll want to look around and explore and you should! They have a full lunch menu, and everything looked amazing. We were aiming for a proper tea, so we did the Castle Collection and Teaberry's Sweets. Each gave us a pot of tea of our choice and an assortment of either little tea sandwiches or sweets. I didn't expect to but I left full! This was a fun way to pick, try a little of a lot of options and enjoy the tea as the main attraction. Highly recommend. It was such a nice visit and one I cannot wait to make again. From the sweet staff to adorable space and seriously impressive assortment of teas, Teaberry's did not skimp on a thing. I booked a room with Teasberry for my mothers 55th birthday about a month ago and it was the very best decision I made. First of all, I literally could not give enough praise to the staff. From the moment we parked our cars, everyone was so kind and welcoming. It was warm and I have never felt so at home in any establishment. We had dedicated servers and if I could have packed them in a bag and taken them home with me, I would have! They spoke to each of the guests with love and that kind of grace that you find when you visit yoir favorite aunts in a cozy cottage. They menu was perfection. Choosing a tea felt impossible but each of us got something catered to our taste. I would go back just try something new each week. The soups and salads were great and the sandwiches were fresh and you could tell they were made that morning. To the staff, I just want to thank you all do much for making my mothers experience wonderful. She was so happy and it's everything we hoped it would be. If i could give a sixth star I would, i almost don't want to leave 5 stars simply because I'd want to keep this place a secret. I came here for a pre-Mother's Day date and we had such a fabulous time we are already planning on going back. The space will transport you into a different world! Every corner is beautifully decorated and fits the theme perfectly. This was our first experience with high tea and we did not know what to expect or what to do, but our waitress was so kind in showing us different options on the menu. She let us know what is popular, gave her own recommendations, and attentively listened to what we like to help us choose. The tea was incredible, the food was even better, and it was so fun to taste all the different sandwiches with their unique combinations. As for the scone--wow, I'm still dreaming about it! We ordered the My Lady's Tea and shared it, as well as an egg salad sandwich. For tea, we had the Earl Grey Cream and it was so good we decided to take a bag home. So excited that teaberry's is finally reopened! I used to love going there for years and was really sad when they were moving and took longer than expected to reopen, but glad they did! With the new building, which has a hard time with parking, it seemed to have come with new management. Everything was rather disjointed. We had reservations but still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table (with 2 little kids). The hostess table is in the crossroads of the restaurant so you're dodging wait staff, other customers, and the bathrooms. The prices are high and the quality of the food isn't what it used to be. My granddaughter brought her babydoll and they said they had special place settings for baby dolls (We were very excited). Half way through the meal, there was still no special anything (We finally inquired and they brought it over.) The 'princess tea' or tea and sandwiches for kids was scant even for a 6 year old. Scones are extra, food is mediocre at best, and the presentation wasn't what we normally expect. And finally, the waitress talked to other customers at a neighboring table about her upcoming wedding for about 15 minutes (with my check in her hand). Not being a review person unless it is extremely good or extremely bad I hope you bear with me here. I have been a longtime teaberry's customer. Our norm is once a month for the four of us and then there are added people here and there and additional times for special occasions. The old location was much better suited but that has no bearing on my review except for the fact of how this started. We went today for our monthly visit. Knowing there is a parking issue I always arrive early so I can get a spot. Add on the new valet parking so there are no spots in the lot and the disaster begins. I arrive a half hour early so I was sure I could get into the "overflow" lot next door only to be asked to move because that is now parking for the valet also. (No notice of that anywhere) there was absolutely no on street parking anywhere nearby. I moved my car, the rest of my party arrived so in we go. Clearly annoyed Sarah showed us to our table. Not our requested table but oh well. She made a comment on the "new" table stating she hope it was all good. We all said yes but the parking situation is horrendous. Well that started the berating. We told her we parked next door like we were told in the newsletter only to find out that changed. We were told we could park on the street, but there was nothing even remotely close. So the answer was to park over a block away. That's fine if the weather is cooperating and you have people that can do the long walk but, what if you don't or if the weather is bad. The next comment from her mouth was "well you don't have to come here" you know what Sarah, no I don't, you are correct. We sat down and we were awaiting the waitress, only to hear her next comment, "I am not a doormat" neither am I Sarah, neither am I. This is the point where we walked out. To be so rudely disrespectful to your customers is a bad business decision. If you really wanted to be shitty to a customer you should have made your snide comments in the back where no one would have heard but you did it right at the desk mere feet from the table you just sat us at. I was not nasty or loud, maybe a little standoffish because I was annoyed. There were no other customers anywhere nearby, I guess that's good for you. You got your wish, we wont be back! read more

I love tea rooms, and have been waiting and waiting for Teaberry's to open back up. Went with my mother and a friend on one of their pre-opening days. I love the atmosphere and the food is really good, especially the scones, but the new prices are absolutely ridiculous. I took my mother here every year for Mother's Day present, but will not be doing that again. One pot of tea with eight small tea sandwiches is $30! If you want a scone, that's like $10 more. I'm assuming they're trying to make up for all the extra expenses that they ended up having to put into this new building, but I just cannot justify spending that kind of money for such a small amount of food.. read more

Really cute set up and experience. I would definitely recommend you dress up in your Sunday best and go here with a party of 2-4 since it is quite a small location. There are so many delicious teas to choose from. But the tea sandwiches and sweets are too tiny if you're hungry. Just get a sandwich if you need something more substantial. This place is great for an afternoon pick me up or a tide you over until lunch/dinner. The inside is way way way too tight and waitresses move very fast so don't get in their way while you're waiting. Once seated, it's quite an experience. If you can, sit outside because the space is way too tight, especially if you're claustrophobic or want to social distance. The tables are bigger outside. What a wonderful experience! An extremely adorable place. There is seating outside on the front porch. When you walk inside, you're totally thrown into a time of a tea. So elegant and adorably costumed. LOVE the seasonal hanging upside tree! Halloween season and they definitely went over the top! Nice touch with the themed aprons that all of the servers wore. Since it's my favorite time of year, that was not lost on me at all! To be noted: you can't be seated until your full party has arrived. Main rooms are well lit and clean. Service was a little confused at first, but they got it together. The menu can seem a bit overwhelming at first, but they seem to want to ensure that you make a very informed decision! I should state that we were there for an afternoon tea date for our lovely 9 year old little girls.. so, they brought their dolls and were greeted ever so warmly with little high chairs and a tea set just for their guests. Just adorable!! The Princess Tea is for children under 12 and it is so worth the just $26 price! They got tea sandwiches, scones with whipped cream and preserves, a pot of tea, dessert platter, and a goody bag! Wow! Let me tell you, everything was of high quality and taste. Teaberry's is a one of a kind place. There is nothing like this anywhere else. You would not be able to replicate it. It was a short walk from my relatives house in Flemington and the first place they took me on my visit to NJ. Such a memorable restaurant with the absolute best atmosphere, food, and service. We sat outside at a table on a grassy knoll. I can do this everyday. As you can imagine from the name, it specializes in tea. It was a hot and humid afternoon when we were there so the last thing I wanted was hot tea. Everyone else had tea service. Now if it was winter, for sure I would have ordered tea, and being from So. California I would have probably placed the tea kettle on my lap to stay warm.... If you live in NJ, or passing through with no less than 2 hour to spare--give yourself an excuse to come here. This is a slow dining experience--do not rush anyone or be rushed. And I am told by the locals that the weather in January here is not as warm as it is in June so keep that in mind if you plan on sitting outside. read more

Has to be one of the cutest restaurants in Flemington. Have had lunch here many times, & also been to some of their night events. Not once was I disappointed. They do also have rooms that you can reserve for tea parties, bridal & baby showers, birthdays etc... upstairs in the bathroom, the tub is full of all sorts of hats, from big floppy ones, proper church going hats, fascinators, Easter bonnets to name a few, you are more than welcome to try one or ten on! As soon as you walk into Teaberry's you are greeted by the staff, dressed in old fashioned Victorian esq. black dresses with crisp white pinafores. In the lobby they have a huge upside down Christmas Tree that they decorate for different seasons. They also decorate the various rooms for the season also. When we were there yesterday everything was decked out in full Easter regalia. I will say my favorite time to go is Christmas time, they just make you feel like your back in time & have arrived in a horse drawn carriage. As far as the teas, their list is huge. Served in miss matched cups & saucers, all teapots have tea cozy's on them to keep your tea warm. You can choose a la cart items to eat or one of the tea services, for example the duchess which comes with a pot of tea, finger sandwiches (seasonal) a scone & a dessert plate with tiny, beautiful, scrumptious treats. Tea arrived on a tea pot covered by a cute cozie. Silverware and dishes were mismatched in a very charming way. Our service was excellent and the courses were spaced out nicely. This was honestly one of the best experiences I've had with my friends. My bridesmaids took me here for high tea the morning of my bachelorette weekend. We had a reservation at 11 for 3. We got 2 pots of tea - Earl Grey and the Kenilworth. Two smooth, delicious teas. They were perfect black or with milk! We also go their fresh scones - which they heated up right before they brought them to your table. The Plain scones with their clotted cream was divine! We then got their assortment of tea sandwiches. My favorite was their Swiss, peppers and onion sandwich and their egg salad one! I also got their lobster bisque in a tea cup. The bisque was loaded with flavor and lobster. I recommend getting it in a cup and not the bowl - as it is very filling for sure. The staff was absolutely amazing. Reese, our server, was such a sweetheart and so kind. We will definitely be going here more often! I highly recommend this for everyone. You go to Teaberry's not only for a good cup of tea and sandwiches, but for the experience. This restaurant is in the oldest building (house?) in Flemington and when you are inside you feel like you're in an English grandmother's house, in a wonderful way. My grandmother was born and raised in England, so tea has always been a central part of our lives. It is an amazing experience to be able to bring her to this quaint tea house. There are many teas to select from, and all of the teas I tried today were very tasty and unique. You get it by the pot-full, so you're able to enjoy your tea throughout the service. We all decided to get the full tea service, The Dutchess, which includes a pot of tea, a soup or salad, finger sandwiches, a scone with assorted toppings (lemon curd, raspberry jam and of course, clotted cream), a dessert plate, and sorbet or gelato. For all of this your total will come to $46 each, but let me tell you, this is a ton of food and worth it. I ordered the curry chickpea soup, it had a perfect hint of spice and was rounded out and given body with coconut milk. The soups are served with two small cheddar biscuits which look like they will be hard but they are perfectly soft and crumbly. The finger sandwiches were delicious. They are 2-3 bites worth each but man were they filling! I am not small by any means and I have a huge appetite, but at this point in the service I was already feeling pleasantly full and sleepy. Next came the scone. I have to mention, they time the service very generously so you should definitely allow an entire morning or afternoon if you plan to do the service. The scone was warm and crumbly. I enjoyed trying the different toppings on it, my favorite topping was the lemon curd, but I do love clotted cream and appreciate the time that goes in to making it (it takes hours!!). By the time the desert plate came around, we were all full and were given boxes to take them home. Even the boxes had old English charm with a little doily inside. I finished the service with the mango sorbet, it tasted very fresh and was the perfect serving. Teaberry's is also very kid-friendly. In our room a mother and her toddler were having tea with one of the little girl's dolls. Teaberry's even gave them a small doll highchair that hooks onto the table, and a little mini tea set! It was so adorable. My 8 year old niece was with us and she had the "princess" tea service, which is a smaller service with more kid-friendly sandwiches and desserts. This is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon, especially with your favorite tea lover. There is also a cute gift shop with tea and English-related goodies. Today I ate here with my mom for Mother's Day. It's very cute and almost all women dining here. The tea menu is extensive. I enjoyed Godiva tea. It was sweet. They bring over honey for the tea. While the honey is cute, I worry people might use the honeycomb to stir their tea. The bisque was thick and creamy. It needed some pepper and chunks of lobster. Next we had the salad with feta cheese and pears. The pears were sweet and the dressing tasted homemade. I heard a lot of tables asking to bring the leftover dressing home. Then, we had the tea sandwiches. The ham and cheese was my favorite. Chicken salad tasted fresh. I wish the quiche was our choice and a small slice of it. Instead it was a very doughy asparagus quiche. For an additional $4, beyond the cost of the $66/person we already paid, we could add the strawberry dessert. It was delicious! The cake was crispy and sweet. After that we were served mini desserts. The lemon bar was my favorite. If you come plan to spend 2.5 hours. Eventually we asked for our food to come out together because it was a bit more leisurely than we would have liked. Everything is served on beautiful plates. I do wish the food was served on the tiered tray. The owner must shop at antique shops to have established such a large collection. Would I return? First impression over the phone wasn't the best because the woman who answers the phone is very terse and dry. Luckily, the waitress was very pleasant. Ah! High tea! Makes me downright giddy with happiness. And Teaberry does an amazing, fantastic, superawesome high tea experience at that! Royal queen's package all around, because... go big or go home right? So many amazing teas to try, and they come in the cutest pots wearing cozy pot warmers. Highly recommend the New Delhi Chai. Best lobster bisque (with secret swish of sherry) to start, followed by a wonderfully light pear salad. And then the sandwiches! Starting from a crisp cucumber to about 8 others, before ending on a dense but sweet datebread. And then came my delicious apple infused scone, dipping in jelly and cream cheese and buttery goodness. And then... this is where we all have to surrender and being the sweets home. Slightly disappointed that we couldn't go big all the way, our waitress was great at cheering us up and saying most people don't make it to sweets either... ha. This was both me and my friend's first time in a looooong time, where we enjoy a decent meal without stressing about our toddler(s) trying to steal our food, and could almost forget we have kids for a minute or two while we gossiped and reminisced about the good college memories. It's so rare that one gets the opportunity to go out for lunch, quote Maggie Smith's Dowager Countess, and not be out of place. My chum and I decided to come here for afternoon tea this weekend, partially inspired by Flemington's Restaurant Week, even though we didn't technically participate. (And as an aside, their bingo gimmick for Restaurant Week is a fantastic idea and goes right to the heart of what these events should be about - promoting as many establishments as possible and encouraging people to go to as many of said establishments as possible. Genius.) One aspect of this experience that could be immediately improved upon is the reservation setup. It wasn't a huge deal for me, but in 2022 there is just no legitimate reason why a reservation-only business doesn't have some type of OpenTable app on their website. I called about a week in advance, had to leave a voicemail with the pertinent reservation information, and then wait for a callback shortly thereafter. It's just not an efficient process on either end, and I guarantee some potential customers (of the younger generation) are just going to look elsewhere for a lower-maintenance option. The actual teahouse is very cute. I think the historic Main Street area of Flemington is really underrated and so easy to bypass if you're just traveling through on one of the nearby county highways. I've been to a handful of teahouses before, and this was pretty par for the course. It felt a little claustrophobic versus cozy (it was pretty crowded when we came around noon, so that was a factor as well), and I wouldn't have jammed quite as many pieces of furniture into the rooms, but it IS really neat. I went with the Lady Astor's Cream Tea ($24), opting for the strawberry almond scones, which came with clotted cream, marmalade and a fruit preserve. Very scrumptious, and if you're concerned about still being hungry, this is the option to go with - scone calories go a long way. I think marmalade in general is a little too overwhelming on the palate, so I concentrated on the fruit preserve, which pared well with the pastry. The tea selection was insane, and I eventually went with the rose oolong tea. Light/airy and also went perfectly with the food. I'm definitely team coffee and don't know a lot about tea, but this was solid and unexpectedly left me buzzing with a caffeine for a few hours. My chum got the Castle Collection (also $24), and was a little underwhelmed. She was still hungry from that and it seemed like some of the sandwiches were hit and miss for her. But the tea was warmly received, and she declared the decorations "much." All in all, a positive experience. The service was magnificent on all fronts, and given that you're at least partially paying for the experience itself, I think this is pretty affordable. It's not a place I'd go to on a regular basis, but it's a high class change of pace if you feel like replicating scenes from a Jane Austen novel. read more

I think it's safe to say even my British in-laws would be impressed with Teaberry's. The beautifully renovated victorian home with six dining rooms, which are all decorated to a T, feels like a step back in time. Truly impressive. For a newbie, I cannot picture a more perfect setting for my first tearoom experience. Speaking of impressive, their tea selection goes beyond 100 different teas! If your girl is as indecisive as me, you're going to be in real bad shape when you get to the tea menu. Luckily their menu is well organized and descriptive, making the tea selection process easy if you know what you like. I'm a black tea gal and wanted something fragrant so I went with the Cinnamon Delight - a rich, yet beautiful balance of cloves and orange zest. I love that the lunch menu is refined - offering only a small selection of typical café offerings in addition to their daily specials. Word on the street is that their quiche is phenomenal. Unfortunately I didn't get the memo beforehand - but now you did. Don't get me wrong though, I don't feel like I missed out. I went with the highly recommended Shelley sandwich and my taste buds were bouncing off the walls. Oven roasted turkey, melted brie, fresh pear, and honeycup mustard sandwiched between multigrain bread and served with a bangin' potato salad. A stellar sandwich! I need to get the word out on the streets. Apparently mistake number two was not ordering a scone. Again, word on the street. I opted for the kensington orange cake - and I would do it again and again. Delicious layers of light, buttery cake with the perfect hint of orange flavor. Absolutely decadent. Get your tea hats on because Teaberry's is well worth a visit and will make you feel pretty darn magical. So here's the thing... I didn't like it but maybe I just don't like this type of food. The lobster bisque was excellent though. Our server was terrific but the pace of the whole thing was just so slow for me. Again, I think it's supposed to be this way. It was an experience I'm happy I tried but I wouldn't do it again. We got the Queen's tea and it was a little pricey but the prices are listed so you know that going in. The whole thing was just not my cup of tea. read more

The ladies of my family are tea party fanatics. We host them, we travel for them, and we've been to many. Teaberry's was one of our favorites ever! We all ordered the Milady's tea. The selection of tea sandwiches was phenomenal. The scone was big and came with clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd. They had hundreds of teas to choose from and the tea pots are adorably clad in tea cozy's. The dessert plate was amazing with such a variety. And on top of all that you also get gelato or sorbet. You really need to bring your appetite. It's a lot of food, and it's a bit of a long meal because of the time between all of the courses. The tea house is warm and comfortable, however it is a bit tight. The yelp page says that it is good for children but be aware there is a lot of fragile stuff around and some tight squeezes. We had two toddlers with us and I wouldn't recommend bringing kids under the age of 4. That being said, the staff was super friendly and accommodating of our situation. Party of four, we had the assorted tea sandwiches, couple pots of tea, and a bunch of scones. Everything was good, especially the scones, which I would come back for. Delish. As first timers for "high tea" we were a little overwhelmed and confused by the menu and pricing. Basically just decided to order whatever we wanted and really didn't know what the bill would be. Knocked off one star due to one of the substitute sandwiches being served without asking us. Banana bread is not the same thing as cranberry zucchini bread, especially for banana averse diners! Waitress could have at LEAST given us a different sandwich, but all we got was a "sorry, the kitchen substitutes sometimes" Came to $100 with tip. It was in-law girlie day and everything was wonderfu! Starting with Lucy(redhead and freckles) our waitress straight through our 6 course tea was amazing!!! I thought we would end hungry but no, we had to get a box for our dessert because we were full. The decor, atmosphere, the staff wondeRaul--totally recommend coming to Teaberry Tea Room. One caveat - they charged my card before I added the tip and signed. Teaberry's is adoooorable! So cute! Like you just want to box a table up and take it home with you so you can have tea parties every day. Or maybe that was just me. I had the Pomegranate Medley rooibos tea ("notes of lime, cranberries and raspberries") because I don't usually drink tea and wanted something on the sweeter side. Oddly, by the time I was pouring my second little cup, I had already heard two other ladies -- at separate tables -- debate on whether or not to order the exact same tea. And this place has over a hundred options! Hint: It's a great choice. In addition to the cuteness of the teacups, the flower arrangements, and the wall decor, they also have fantastic, filling food. I had the Royal Albert with chicken salad on a croissant. The dish comes with a scoop of delicious potato salad. This was the perfect meal accompaniment to a Sunday tea with a good friend. On my way out, I ordered a side of banana bread to go and it was *also* top-notch. We left Teaberry's happy and content -- and stopped at their boutique before heading home. What a wonderful, fun and unique place ! If you ever binge watched Downton Abbey or have a spouse / partner / friend / sibling who did (no judgement here !) then you have to try Teaberry's ! Plus....if you have a small human with you who loves their doll (think American Girl sized dolls) they can join ! Let the staff know and they will add a place setting, teacup and highchair that attaches to the table ! The rooms are over the top themed in an old victorian house - often with a huge upside Christmas tree in the entry hall decorated for the appropriate season! Food is wonderful and all home made - especially love that lobster bisque and the Churchill sandwich (oven roasted turkey, apples, cheddar and bacon) ! Make a reservation as the tables fill fast. read more
