My first visit to Theresa's was a quick order to go. For my second visit, we dined in. My to-go order was Theresa's panini. Obviously I enjoyed it, otherwise I wouldn't have returned. For the second visit, my wife ordered the Italian panini while I decided to try the tuna cheddar melt. Both were delicious and just enough to fill us up. Breakfast review. We had business in Flemington on Friday. We chose this restaurant and unfortunately we were disappointed. The staff were pleasant and greeted us at the counter. We ordered and sat at a table. We ordered the pancakes and an omelette with potatoes. The pancakes came out burnt on one side and the omelette was terrible. The omelette had barely any vegetables in it and was so well done that I couldn't eat it. Toast was so cold that the butter that was on it didn't melt. I saw that the reviews were good and that is why I chose this restaurant. We must've been there on a very off day. Welcome was extraordinarily warm and sincere from the moment we arrived! We ordered our favorite pork roll egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll - and of course with salt pepper and ketchup!! This breakfast sandwich is a familiar favorite of any Jersey boy or girl - and we couldn't leave the Garden State without eating at least one. Lived near Flemington for so many years and somehow never tried this little cafe/dinner/breakfast nook? Criminal. I stopped in for breakfast and was greeted by the friendliest faces. It's seat yourself and if it's a chilly day, my personal rec is right underneath the portable heater. The great: Omelette was delish. Home fries were extra crispy just like I asked. Coffee was hot and strong and tasty. Did I mention how lovely everyone working was? Not one person without a smile. Other things to note: You'll wait a while. It wasn't very busy at all but we waited quite a while for two breakfast plates. If you are starving, try another time. If you can handle the wait, definitely pay them a visit. This restaurant is located on a quiet side road just off of Main St. Flemington. It has plenty of parking in the adjacent lot and a cute little seating area with umbrellas outside. There's plenty of seating indoors as well. The space is very bright with large windows. You place your order at the counter inside. The coffee is self serve but they will bring your food to your table when it's ready. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I got "Bruce's Scrambled Eggs which comes with cream cheese, crumbled bacon and chives. Sounded weird to my friend but it turned out to be delicious. It came with fried potatoes. The portion size was ok for me but might be disappointing to someone with a bigger appetite. The downside to this place is that the interior looks a little run down. It could really use a facelift/freshening up, ESPECIALLY in the bathroom (which is tiny). That would make a huge impact for me and would take rating up a star. However, that doesn't seem to bother people much as they seem to have a very loyal following and they're steadily busy. I'd definitely come back to try other menu items and just to support this local business because the food and staff were great and there aren't many breakfast places in town. read more

Theresa's Cafe is a place that you wish that you had in your home town. I found this place visiting my relatives in Flemington. There is nothing like this in Southern California. True family run restaurant mainly for breakfast food like pancakes and omelets--I had both and they are excellent. Their breakfast potatoes are the best--fresh cut potatoes, nothing frozen out of the bag like other places. The owner was working in the restaurant with her son when I dined there twice in the same week while visiting with my relatives in NJ. Another woman was also cooking and the son's girlfriend was there helping out too. The owner came over both days to see how the food was and chat a bit. If you are within a reasonable distance of this restaurant, I would definitely stop in for Omelets and Pancakes. They have easy free parking and indoor or outdoor seating. You will feel very comfortable dining here alone like me or with others. read more

This is such a great little brunch/lunch spot! My mom and I were in desperate need of good food after a long drive, and yelp reviews led us to check out Theresa's! On the outside, the Cafe doesn't look much. It's located in what used to be a small house and is easy to miss if you don't have your GPS on! When you enter, however, you will be amazed by what the owners have done with the space! Theresa's has huge windows that light up the the cafe, beautiful and unique artwork hang from the walls, wind chimes sparkle from the ceiling, and there are even old photographs of historic Hunterdon county. Wood tables for two or four are seat yourself. There are two rather large menus for both breakfast and lunch, daily specials on the chalk boards, and once you are ready to order- you go straight to the counter! Coffee is serve yourself- so yes, free refills. Just make sure you pay for your first cup! The food is traditional American diner type style- but fresh!!! My mom and I got there around 1 (they close at 3) and we saw the delivery guys coming in and out around 2 with fresh produce from the local area! My mom ordered the quiche that was on special, which was loaded with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. I had a western omelette with swiss cheese added in. They gave me a side of REAL potatoes... I mean real!!! I cut one in half and took a picture as photographic evidence! (see photos! haha). Menu had other items such as wraps, sandwiches, pancakes, eggs, and huge specialty salads! I almost got the walnut cranberry salad... but opted for the traditional omelette. The coffee was pretty good. It's self serve, New England brand, decaf and regular available. They also had a banana nut flavor on special which was yummy! If your coffee gets cold, no problem, the staff are more than happy to reheat you cup! Or make a fresh pot! I can't stand cold coffee, so this is a plus! :) A really unique attribute about the cafe is that you can pick your own mug from their eclectic collection. Mugs with rainbow stripes, flags, happy faces, birds, you name it! It reminds me of one of those "recycle mug" projects... where why throw out a mug if you can donate it to a local coffee joint for all of New Jersey to enjoy?! :) Happiness can be found in a mug you know! :) Overall, this place was great. My mom and I felt a little confused when we walked in, since it's so small and it looks like a place that regulars would frequent. Our "nerves" so to speak were easily quelled by the warmth of the staff, the welcoming vibe of the patrons, and the easy going and comfortable vibe of the cafe. Great place. Went for a motorcycle ride with a friend today from Pa and after checking yelp, we decided on Theresa's Cafe for brunch. To say it was great would be an understatement. We both had a wonderful meals, the service was great and we met the owner herself and what a sweet lady she is. Even got a scone to have for my drive to NC the next day after we had paid the bill, and she would not let me pay for it. We will definitely be back with our wives to try their lunch menu. Thank you Yelp for recommending this place! Small and unassuming it reminded me immediately of a popular little place called "Ida's" back home. Where the owner cooks everything and most of the customers come via word of mouth. This place was very much the same. The menu was small but had a nice selection of lunch and breakfast items, and would be the perfect setting for a casual family brunch. I especially liked that the sandwiches came with a side and were lower priced. I suspect it was the owner who took our orders. She was friendly and our food came out quickly. I ordered a Casaer wrap and it was prepared nicely with grilled, blackened chicken. The dressing tasted homemade. Hubby raved about his Swiss melt and seemed very impressed. One stolen bite and I knew why, it really was very flavor-able. The use of seasonings were perfect. The kids meal was enough for an adult. While we didn't have full table service is was nice that they brought your food out after ordering at the counter. Aside from the menu items they had coffee and various homemade pastries. The inside was nothing special really, actually was like a garage or shed that was refurbished into a dining space. The climate inside was our least favorite aspect of dining here as it's heated by numerous wall and space heaters. Due to lack of available seating we sat between two heaters. I was immediately put into heat flash mode by the strong gusts of heat, but turning them off and/or down it got cold really quick so we had to put up with it. Other than that our experience was fine. I will mention that the restroom is very, very small...think like rv small and than some. So if you are disabled or have a bigger frame its best to "go" before you go. Theresa's Café is a small house on Broad Street, Flemington, NJ, that was converted into a restaurant some time ago. It has the feel of an old country store, with wood floors, old glass displays and a hodgepodge collection of coffee mugs for those dining in for breakfast. "Quaint," is an overused descriptive, but the only one that does it better would be, "Bucolic." This is one cozy shop to sit and have breakfast or lunch. Orders are taken at the cashier, and delivered by the new owner, Chris. She is very good of being house mother, and probably the chef as well. Coffee is self service with New England Coffee Co., doing the honors. I have always liked their joe. We both ordered the sausage, egg & cheese on Kaiser roll, although the pancakes/French toast options were also appealing. Chris delivered our plates about 15 minutes later and wished us enjoyment of our breakfasts. We did. Very much! All the ingredients were doubled and stacked within the fresh roll. Each contributed strongly to the fatwich we consumed. This was one of the few times that I wasn't certain I could eat the whole thing. It was that zoftig! At about $4 a sandwich, this was an awesome deal. With java, it came to $6/per. Gotta love that. Theresa's Café is a little off the beaten bath in Flemington, but it is worth finding for the wholesomeness of their morning meals. read more

I tried this place for the first time and I'm glad I found it on Yelp!! This a cute little spot serving up some pretty good eats. Me and my sister decided to grab a bite after a drs appt and we enjoyed what we ordered. The Bruce's eggs ( very nice combo of items) chives, bacons and cream cheese incorporated into eggs it had great flavor and the potatoes served with it were yummy . Also the French toast was cooked to perfection . I wished i had added bananas but maybe next time . Also the iced coffee was very refreshing and had a slight mocha flavor.
