Teaberry's is my favorite tea house, and I come here to celebrate numerous occasions. One of my favorite times of year is during Christmas, where I enjoy a holiday tea party upstairs in a private room with my group of friends. During the holiday season, the restaurant is decked out in decorations and the upside down Christmas tree is adorned with gorgeous ornaments and lights. The tea selection is absolutely immense, as is the food selection. I feel the portions are extremely generous, and we usually opt for lunch. Some of my friends select the high tea option, and they cannot say enough about the delicious tea sandwiches. The location of the restaurant in a historic Victorian in downtown Flemington adds to the ambiance and you feel like you are having an authentic experience of "tea time" in another era. I like to "escape" at this gorgeous restaurant whenever I can, and I suggest you do, as well. read more

My daughter and I always do a Christmas tea. We usually alternate between various tea shops in the metro area. Teaberry's is still my favorite. We decided to go to Teaberry's this year since in the last year or so we haven't been able to have our special tea date in a shop. What a wonderful experience we had. I shouldn't be surprised we always have a great time. It was our first time sitting downstairs, we usually are upstairs. We enjoyed the lovely decorations in the room where we were seated. The savories and the scones were so delicious. We had our favorite tea, the Crown Jewel. We ended up taking the desserts home to enjoy the next day with another pot of tea. We keep saying we want to go one day for lunch and are planning to do that in the new year. If you are every near Flemington I suggest you try this place, it will not disappoint. I have been coming to Teaberry's since they opened at their original location up Main Street and I have had the pleasure of dining here countless times. Every single experience has been just as wonderful as the first! When you dine here, you don't just come for the food, which is absolutely delicious and all made from scratch. You come here for the atmosphere, the memories, the feeling of being transported to England for the afternoon. It is such a special place. We have celebrated my birthday here every year. I've celebrated my pre wedding nuptials here with a ladies tea with all the special women in my life. I've come here for Valentine's Day, for a women's group tea. So. Many. Occasions. It's been excellent every time. The tea selection is expansive! So many choices. The waitresses here will happily give you suggestions if you're lost. I personally love the Blueberry Green and the Lady Jane teas. The lunch here is so tasty. They have specials every day. Listen up when they share what they are as they are first come first serve! Popular items run out as everything is made fresh! You can't go wrong with any of their soups. They even won a soup competition in the past. The quiche is so light and fluffy it melts in your mouth. I love the creamy maple and lemon poppyseed dressings on any of their salads. My favorite sandwich is the Shelly, served warm on a croissant! Plus it's massive! You'll be pleasantly stuffed. As for the the afternoon tea menu. The tea sandwiches are all very unique and delicious! The scones are one of my favorite things about Teaberry's. The best scones I've ever found. Be sure to get all three sides. I usually cut my scone in half and smear the clotted cream on both halves, and put the raspberry preserves on one side and lemon curd on the other. It is such a treat! I've been here so many times, it's time to post a review. The food is always to die for. The scones are the best in the world (and I've had them at the Plaza in NY and actually several times in England itself, but nothing compares to these scones!) The mini dessert plates are always beautiful and delicious, the salads are large and colorful, the sandwiches are packed full of meat. And they have so many different types of tea that reading the tea menu can take 10 minutes. They have teas for everyone's taste, and tons of variety of every type (Black, green, oolong, herbal, etc.) The service is intentionally slow, which is appreciated but you should go in with expectations that this is going to be a several hour event. Prices aren't bad. They aren't cheap, but they are worth the quality so I would definitely say they are fair. You won't find a more delicious lunch/scone/tea. read more

It was over priced, lacked hospitality and should not have taken our reservation because their staff was overwhelmed a their China was crackled. In town for a youth hockey game, and saw this place in Yelp. Really nice place on a pretty street, with a great porch out front for outdoor seating. Outstanding pumpkin bisque soup was perfectly seasoned and had good body. We had three different sandwiches, each one was excellent. Had to take home half of each of the sandwiches because the soup was so filling and the sandwiches were so abundant. Had to order scones for the road. I've been here twice, and a visitor of a tea house once per season. Here, the first time I came was with a small group of 3 one Friday afternoon, and another time with a large group of 10 women for a sprinkle. The first time was nice- good quiche, solid tea choices, nice service. A tad pricier than some options, but you were paying for ambiance too. The second time was a 2/5 at best for all the reasons explained below. Maitire D came to the table to ask aloud "what's going on...?" to everyone at the table as our waitress was explaining some non-vegetarian options to a guest who was just wondering. We were told the party arrangements were made and the platters were done and no modifications could be made... and that's great.. absolutely fine, except (1) but she continued to be pretty loud and rude and proceeded to say "we have a party coming at 1, and some guests were late." I should add that it was 11:30 at this point, and 2 our of 10 guests had arrived at 11:15.. so not only did we have more than enough time but our "party" was not late. (2) She could have also just whispered into the hostesses ears instead of awkwardly addressing the entire party. And (3) it probably would have taken 25 seconds to swap out an egg sandwich for a chicken salad one for one of our guests?? The sandwiches were mediocre, and for $48 pp and a lot of advance notice I would have hoped for some creativity to go into some of the savory options. I wasn't impressed and some corners of my Brie and cranberry sandwich had almost no Brie. For the sweet options and scones, the butter was browned and everything tasted very similar, a bit too browned for my taste, and just overly sweet. Not to mention scones were cooked in the oven for too long and came out a bit dry. Not really a great flavor balance, and just not too impressed To top it all off, as we posed for some photos by their nice decor, we put some bags to the side of the steps and a waitress going upstairs with long ponytail huffed and puffed when a gentlemen smiled and said "lots of stairs huh?" And she said well that and everything blocking the steps" alluding to the two doggy bags in a corner and some of us taking a group photo. Just an absurd and awkward afternoon. Thankfully my group of friends remained happy and positive, but I really felt the need to call out this behavior. This place is experiential .. it's supposed to be an experience of happiness, cordiality, quality and for a $500 party bill, I'm quite shocked at the type of behavior and poor service we received. I thought I would continue to come back, but I have a spot in Princeton and Jamesburg I will frequent. I do hope things change here. If some are having an off-day, perhaps try not to bring the stress into someone else's party, and ruin a great reputation... just breathe it out, drink some tea, and remember that service and people matter. read more

I was a returning customer but never again. I took my mother and daughter to high tea and the food and tea were good overall - presentation could have been better - but the experience met expectations. I left just below 15% tip and as I was walking out the manager approached me asking if I wanted to reconsider the tip amount that I left since it was below 15%. She said this in front of another customer, my mother, and daughter. Flustered I increased the tip after being harassed. I will never go back again or recommend high tea there to others. Take your business elsewhere where you won't be harassed as there are plenty of other high teahouses in the area read more

My cousin always frequents Teaberry's Tea Room, and I have been there many times and always love their Shelley sandwich. It is delicious! I am usually not a fan of honeycup mustard or potato salad, but I eat both when I'm at Teaberry's, it's that good. My cousin brought their tea sandwiches (as well as the children sandwiches for my fiance and I haha) when we were visiting my Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle. The sandwiches that I tried were the Peanut Butter and Jelly, Nutella and Banana, Fluffernutter (Peanut Butter and Marshmallow), Turkey and Cheese, and Ham and Cheese (they also come with grilled cheese sandwiches, as well as tuna sandwiches, but I did not try these two). All of the sandwiches I tried were delicious! My favorites were the Peanut Butter and Jelly, Nutella and Banana, and Fluffernutter. I love the delicate sizes and was able to eat a variety of different sandwiches, and still feeling full afterwards. I highly recommend Teaberry's Tea Room! :) read more

Pre-Covid; good parking, food was pretty good for the price but not great. I had the chicken salad sandwich. Tea was good & desserts were fine but not memorable. Deducting stars because they tried to seat our party of two up a long, narrow, winding staircase in a room the size of my walk-in closet. It also smelled musty. Since we'd made a reservation & had never been there before, we requested to sit in the the open, airy, light-filled main room visible as you first come through the door. We were finally seated there in the biggest, nicest room, along with one other party. The restaurant filled up over the next hour. My seat was on the aisle & I hung my handbag on the back of my chair. Without fail, it was bumped by the two servers taking care of the room every single time but once. I kept scooting closer to the table but even my 6' burly husband could pass with enough space so it was definitely a result of carelessness. We noticed no one else appeared to have their chair/bag bumped as well. Finally, our waitress knocked my Kate Spade clear off the back of my chair & onto the floor. She was very apologetic while picking it up but I noticed after that she & the other server did not bump my chair again. So, either they learned their lesson or she won the bet. I can't be sure. Went there with the wife for some afternoon tea. We arrived there only 10 mins before they were going to close, and they kept the place open for us. We were taken to the room to the front left of the building. there were a handful of tables there, of all shapes and sizes. The room was decorated with antiques throughout and an eclectic collection of tea cups, pots, etc. the table also had fresh flowers, and helped set the tone for the tea. We took a look at the menu, and ordered 2 pots of tea (Assam and Darjeeling blend for me, and Earl Grey for the wife) with sandwiches, and the wife also ordered a scone and some clotted cream. They were great about also customizing the sandwiches for each of us... giving my wife more of the cucumber and the egg salad ones, and giving me more of the tuna and chicken salad ones. Tea came out first.. and the tea was brewed fully, and tea leaves were taken out. The pot was also covered, to keep it warm. We both enjoyed our teas very much... and each pot provided 4-5 cups at least. When the food came out, we were very pleased... sandwiches were made fresh (not pre-assembeled and served like some other tea rooms we have been to), and all of them were great. The selection changes periodically, and this helps keep the menu fresh. The menu also offered a whole selection of other items, such as soups, salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), etc. We didn't have anything else, but can't wait to go back to try more of the selection. After the tea, we walked around the restaurant (both floors)... the place is clean, and has a great feel to it. It was nice seeing all of the different tea pots, etc.. along with the items that were typically english. The restaurant also sells a lot of items, including decor, tea, etc. On a final note, our waitress was also great... and having kept the place open for us after official hours, and also was very personable. There's always time for tea! (Make a reservation!) Teaberry's is located in downtown Flemington amongst historic homes. There is a parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding street parking. The outside grounds of Teaberry's are beautiful and well kept! The porch has a few seats and tables perfect to enjoy a cup of tea on a warm day. Upon walking through the front door, you are greeted by a host or hostess as well as their "upside down" Christmas tree decorated according to the holiday or season. Each room has a different theme and seats plenty of people. We were in the downstairs room closest to the front door. (I forgot the name of it) Our waitress's name was Flo and she was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. While we waited for our tea to arrive, my mentee and I explored the different rooms in the house. Each room is decorated with cute, quirky, and unique details. I think my favorite was the Fleur de Lis room. There are several bathrooms; don't forget to check out the tub with the vintage hats! My mentee ordered a "Princess" tea while I went for the Lady Astor tea. She picked the "sweet tart" tea which was pink. There was a small selection of sandwiches from ham & cheese, tuna, chocolate/peanut butter/banana, peanut butter & cream cheese, as well as a few pieces of fruit. She isn't a super picky eater, but she tried everything and it was a lot of food! She enjoyed her scone and loved putting the clotted cream and raspberry preserves on it. She decided to take her desserts home as she was stuffed from the meal! I loved my vanilla almond tea! It is a rooibos and tasted lovely with a bit of honey. The scones of the day were a pistachio and a green apple & cinnamon. AMAZING! These were large scones and I happily added clotted cream and preserves to it! I'm drooling just thinking about them. I thought I would be hungry afterwards but the scones are quite filling. This place has a lot of character and is such a great place for a special occasion tea or lunch. I'll definitely be hosting a birthday party or special afternoon tea here with my gal pals. It's quite pricey, but you are getting your money's worth in terms of service and ambiance! After three attempts to get in, my aunt and I finally made it to this place 6 months later than expected to celebrate the holidays with something we both love - tea! I made a reservation for lunch at noon on a Sunday and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The place wasn't packed, but all of the rooms were occupied by at least one party it seemed. The house is absolutely beautiful/charming/adorable! The gardens on the property are gorgeous during the summer months with all the flowers in bloom. We were seated in one of the upstairs rooms at a cozy corner table near the window. When we first arrived it was raining - perfect tea weather! I appreciated Teaberry's extensive collection of vintage tea cups on display, as well as many nods to the royals over in England. I love all things eclectic and the mix of tea cups, water classes, dishes etc. was right up my alley - mismatched to perfection! We started off with a small pot to share, which it turns out was plenty for us. We each had about 3-4 cups of the strawberry rhubarb tea, our favorite! Thank goodness that was on the menu or else we may still be sitting there trying to decide. Initially we figured we would go through two pots of tea and get to try two varieties- a great excuse to come back! For food, we both had a cup of soup- my aunt had the lobster bisque (chef's specialty) and I had the special, which was a mushroom soup. Divine! I was so sad when it was over. Thank goodness the waitress showed up soon after with our entrees. My aunt had the salad special, mixed berries. I had the quiche of the day, which again had mushrooms and I believe fennel. Whatever it had it was SO good and a perfectly sized portion with the side salad (I went with the pear - highly recommend, especially with the maple dressing!) and two slices of banana bread. The banana bread unfortunately missed the mark - I was expecting way more flavor and it was kind of just bland. Oh well- it left us craving dessert, thank goodness, because the white chocolate cherry scone was TO DIE FOR! We paired it with the lemon curd- which I was disappointed may have been by Stonewell and not by Teaberry's themselves. On the plus side, that means I can recreate this experience in my own kitchen! **UPDATE: Teaberry's DOES make the lemon curd themselves! Awesome :) We will definitely be back to Teaberry's! The food was delicious, the tea was perfect and the atmosphere was enjoyable and adorable - this would be a great spot to catch up with your girlfriends over brunch or to hold a shower, hint hint Mom! After tea we checked out the little shop behind the main tea house - so many little treasures in there (although it seemed a bit pricey)! Out of all the tea rooms I've previously been to, Teaberry's had to be my favorite. There's something about dining in a restaurant that is located inside a Victorian home with multiple rooms and fireplaces that is certainly inviting. We were seated in the Salon room. It was still decorated for Christmas, which the decorations were lovely. They have a signature upside down tree in the entrance way which was so neat. Never seen anything like it! Now for the tea. It is pretty overwhelming to look over a menu of hundreds of teas, endless flavors, varieties, green teas, black teas, you name it! Our waitress was knowledgable about the menu and offered us to try some limited holiday flavors which were extended past the holiday. I tried the maple walnut green tea. It was delicious! Mixed in some home grown fresh honey and I was set! Every pot of tea you order comes to your table and is clothed in a different pattern of fabric called a "cozy" to keep the tea warm. They were super cute. Not one tea cup or cozy in the restaurant are alike! My friend and I both ordered a quiche Lorraine, salad, and slice of banana bread. The quiche was creamy, cheesy, and very yummy. I ordered the "Windsor salad" which had feta cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, sliced beets, and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Incredible! We were too full to try dessert. Maybe next time. I would definitely recommend for an outing with the girls, a wedding shower, or gift for Mothers day. Background: I never got the opportunity to eat there unfortunately. I really wanted to as I heard very good things. Call me a stickler for customer service, but if I call because I have to cancel/reschedule my reservation as soon as I find out that my client couldn't make it and they get nasty and hang up on me, it's not the kind of business I'd like to spend money in. The story: I made a reservation a week prior for a business meeting at 11:30a. The morning of the reservation I find out my client could not make it. I called at 10:00a to cancel. The woman was very hasty as soon as I told her I'd need to move the reservation. I hesitated a little because I was shocked as her response and she yelled "JUST CALL BACK! NAME?!" Shocked, I gave her my name and she said "ok, bye now" and hangs up. Here's what made it worse...I called back 1 minute later to tell her how disappointed I am in the service and she answers with a nasty "HI, AGAIN." I told her that I will be telling everyone I know about the kind of service they provide there. It's a shame because I was so ready and planning to have all my business meetings there to impress my clients with my ability to pick great places to eat. I was thoroughly satisfied with my selection and have been craving it ever since. My choice had an orange and cinnamon taste, mmm. The food is good, but the main attraction is the tea and delightful ambiance. Just a word of warning -nothing you buy in the supermarket will ever compare to what you will experience at Teaberry's.
