I showed up 1st thing to the service center because my trunk was not opening and malfunctioning. I needed to get in there for some work supplies and my golf clubs were stranded in there too. Who doesn't need their golf clubs accessible when they are trying to meet a customer for a Tee time! Anyway, Amber Givens the customer service employee followed me to my car to attempt to open or find the release and fix my problem immediately. She tried with diligence to make it happen but it needed a professional so she was on it and ended up taking it back to a technician. They were able to get my problem resolved and trunk open within 5-10 mins tops. That team didn't hesitate to help when I told them how important my trunk getting opened is. And it helped me make a golf outing that I needed to attend that morning. I am truly impressed and will take my car back. Thank you Team Chevy and Amber of course!!! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. We brought in our 2021 GMC Sierra diesel already knowing the issue, the GMC app literally told us what was wrong. Pete, the service manager, flat-out dismissed it and insisted on a completely different repair. We were charged thousands of dollars to "replace" a radiator that did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. We drove off the lot and the check engine light was STILL ON. When we brought it back, they suddenly admitted the original issue we told them about was the real problem all along. Instead of owning their mistake, they charged us AGAIN another diagnostic fee and another $1,000 to fix what should have been done the first time. To make matters worse, the one thing they claimed they were going to "help us out on" turned out to be something that was actually covered under warranty. So not only were we misled about the repairs, we were also misled about what we should have been paying for in the first place. We also had to fight just to get the old radiator back so we could try to recover some of the money THEY wasted. Pete's behavior was completely unacceptable angry, rude, talking down to my mother, and trying to blame us for their incompetence. This is not how a professional service department operates. This place is dishonest, careless, and completely unaccountable. They wasted our time, our money, and then treated us like the problem. We will never return and neither will our fleet of GM and DOT certified vehicles. We will be telling everyone we know to stay far away from this dealership. Awful service. Was told there was gas in my DEF tank and it shorted the tank heater, but they can't warranty it because of the alleged fuel in there. So I had to pay to fix a truck with less than 6000 miles on it. Yet they never proved to myself or themselves that there was unleaded fuel in the tank! I was lied to and they're double dipping. Salesman was pretty bad. He knew nothing about the vehicle, and just tried to pass any questions off to the next person. I asked about the CARFAX and he just said that the finance guy would answer those questions. I asked about the maintenance history, and he said the finance guy would also answer that. Really dude?! You're the salesman, do your job and tell me about the vehicle. Then he came out and said they only make $120 per car....hahahaha...sure. Then they tried to slip an additional $900 add-on in the bill of sale for some type of rust protection, along with an outrageous prep fee. Needless to say, those costs were removed. Traded my 2020 van in on a 2019 Chevy truck. Noticed transmission slipped every morning. Took it back and Chevy agreed it slips and they replaced the valve assembly, which was a 7 week wait. Got truck home and transmission still slips every morning. Take it back again they claim "Engineers at GM say the slipping is a normal condition from a previous repair and it won't affect the reliability of the truck" and transmission component replacement wont fix the defect and they won't cover it under warranty. The tech that diagnosed problem is no longer with us and our new transmission tech is really good so he knows what is going on and he cant feel the slipping. So, now I own a truck with a defective transmission. Beware of this dealership. read more

Three weeks later I get a check engine light for the same exact item. Obviously frustrated I call to set an appointment. The service writer ended up hanging up on me. Cant believe the stuff I found on my car last night! HORRIBLE work from a GM DEALERSHIP So 2 days ago my valve cover had a vaccum leak. It was so bad I could not drive the vehicle.(remind you team Chevrolet last year alone has changed my valve cover 3 times) now when I called In to see if it's still under warranty they told me it isn't.(and I'm SUPER glad it wasn't. So I went to GM got the part and took off the old valve cover to replace with the new. Upon doing so I noticed someone has completely TRASHED my aluminum head on top of the motor. Now when I called and spoke to the service manager not only was she completely rude with me. She said "the valve cover doesnt bolt into the head" so now the service manager doesnt even know what shes talking about. I called and asked for them to fix what THEY messed up and they said since its driveable they cant fix it but can give me 2 free oil changes. I am completely disgusted how a mechanic at GM can even get away with doing this. I really hope they fix what they did to my car. Definitely lost ALOT of customers doing this and treating me the way they have been about the situation. read more

Came here on a monday because my check engine light was on my 2014 chevy cruze. I bought this car off my dad in the spring and he had this car serviced at team for years, I have a stack of receipts. They found that I needed a new cam cover and crank shaft gasket, easy fix. On thursday my wife sends me a picture of our garage floor full of oil. I immediately go outside to check where my car is parked, and notice there is oil all over the motor and ground and the ground where I parked a few feet over from wednesday. I called team and told them I had a leak and asked for a tow truck. They said they would send someone out to look at it. A couple hours later one of their employee shows up and says he is there to put oil in my car so I can drive it back! Took 3 quarts of oil to refill!!!! I called team back and asked if they thought it was a good idea to drive a car leaking oil 35 min. back to the shop and that the employee had just put 3 quarts in, they said yes. I asked if they were going to pay for a new motor if something happened, the service manager said he didn't even know if it was there fault yet. I drove it back after work and stopped several times to full it back up to stop any further damage. The next day they call me and tell me my car is ready, I had to ask what was wrong, and they said they misinstalled the parts the other day. I also asked if they had changed my oil because when I dropped it off I specifically told them it had special amsoil in it and I wanted back what I had in it, before the leak; the service advisor assured me it was changed. The next day I went in to pick up my car and noticed that 2 of the cam bolts where different and had a caulk around them (original ones were star shaped). I asked to speak w/ the gm and he was polite and listened to my story and told me to leave the car and he would talk the service manager on monday. Monday at 3pm I get a call from the service manager stating that he doesn't see any problem with the car and gives me an attitude. I told him I didn't like the bolts and waited the original back in, he said the tech had stripped the bolts and he needed to put longer ones in. Exactly what I already knew ( I fix cars for a living - autobody tech) , the right way, is to drill a hole and they make a kit that you put a new thread into the hole and put the original bolt back in. He wasn't budging, so I asked to see a receipt of the oil that they changed, he said and checked with the tech that they never changed my oil. Caught them in a LIE since the service advisor had told me otherwise on friday. So he proceeded to ask, why I needed my oil changed, I told him that I use amsoil and their employee put something else in when they sent him out to put oil in my car to drive back. Then he lectured me on why my car shouldn't have that oil in it, because its too good of oil to use in a car this late in the game. WHO CARES, its what I had in it and what I'm owed! For those of you who don't know, amsoil is about $15 a quart. They changed my oil, but who really knows, and the paper says they used amsoil XL which is $6 less a quart than the Signature series I use. As you can see in the pictures, they did a great job of cleaning it, still dripping some oil in my garage. Will not be back! read more

I was at Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso looking at a truck, i was going to trade in my 2018 Genesis G90 in absolute perfect condition without so much as a scratch on it, i was shocked when they appraised my vehicle at $26,400. before stopping at the dealership i did my research and my car according to NADA in rough condition $27,425, average trade in condition $29,200 and in Clean trade in condition $31,350(which is what my car is). needless to say, there was no way i was going to take that amount for my vehicle and i was not even going to haggle the price of their vehicle had they been honest. i was so offended by the dis honesty, i thanked them and i just walked out. 2 days prior to this i was at a car dealer in indianapolis and recieved a trade in value of $30250 on a very similiar vehicle with the exception of they had a 2021 and Team Chevy was a 2018, needless to say, i am taking my buisiness to Indianapolis and that would be my reccomendation to anyone else. i would give less than 1 star if i could. read more

This place is a total rip-off. I had my car towed in because it stopped running on a Sat. so I knew they wouldn't look at it till Mon so I agreed to pay there diagnostic fee anyhow after telling me it would be $2400 and my extended coverage insurance wouldn't cover any of it (I'm from 1 1/2 hours away) I said fix it so they did and the car still wasn't running so then they tried to tell me the engine was no good and it would be another $7900 to replace it after all of this I had it towed back home to the dealer I bought it from and they said a rod bearing failed and caused all the problems and they got my extended insurance to cover the new engine I hope this review saves someone else from having the same problems I did read more

Worked out a deal over the phone to purchase a BRAND NEW camaro ss with them. Drove a few hours to come pick up the car only to find that the car had 400 miles on it already because the sales manager figured it would be cool to drive the car as a personal vehicle for a while. Then when I get there the car needed about a 1000 dollars worth of repairs in scratches and a chunk taken out of the front spoiler that needed repaired. They attempted to work out a deal with me to fix the car at my local dealer. No thx. Maybe You should fix the car before you put it out for sale as a BRAND NEW CAR. I took my car to Team Chevrolet at the request of General Motors when I already had a reputable mechanic look at it. At first, my experience was great, I spoke with Michael in sales who advised I should talk to Suzanne in service. Suzanne was great, she was very helpful and explained the process of having a claim through GM. The next day, I received a call from Gary, the service director. He was extremely condescending and rude to me from the beginning. Before my car even arrived there, he decided he did not plan on replacing it. He wanted me to agree to pay for up to 3 hours of diagnostics before they looked at the vehicle. My car was towed there from my mechanic, so I already knew what was wrong. Gary called me back saying he couldn't tell why I was having the engine problem but that I had an oil leak (though my mechanic checked it all and said the fluids were "spot on"), he then proceeded to tell me that he "couldn't tell what came first, the chicken or the egg" I advised my car was well maintained and he said he was just telling me what he could see that I would need to replace the engine. I've spoke with him on the phone a few times, he was awful every time. I called GM and told them I wanted to file a formal complain about him. When I called GM, all they would say was that it was "noted". Gary never asked for maintenance records or anything at all regarding my engine just that "I am not replacing you engine". If you are looking for a great mechanic in the area, I suggest Valpo Muffler, I would not under any circumstances take my car to Team Chevrolet. read more

I recently purchased my used vehicle earlier in November. I was very satisfied with my awesome 'new'/used (New to me??) car but noticed after a few days when I would brake the car would vibrate. So without hesitation, I called up Team Chevy to take a peek at the problem. Mind you, when I purchased the used vehicle I also purchased the extra warranty (thanks Kyle??). When I took the vehicle in for inspection I knew what would be covered and what wouldn't be so...need less to say, I was crossing my fingers I wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for the problem to be resolved. When Katie came out to the waiting room with the diagnosis of the problem, she said the breaks and rotors we're going to be fixed. Those things we're not covered by my warranty, I felt a drop in my stomach but before I could say anything Katie said, 'It would be no cost to you'. Those words right there made me...a mother of two, a stay at home mom with one income from my husband, so unbelievably happy I chose Team Chevy in Valparaiso. I would also like to mention that the entire staff at your establishment is far beyond any customer service I've experienced. Anyone I crossed paths with made me feel at home. I took my car in to get serviced for two safety recalls and asked them to let me know what other work needed to be done. They called back and said one service recall didn't apply to my vehicle, so I called GM to complain (because the recall DID in fact apply - there were just two parts to it). When a manager got involved all they could tell me was that the "work was already done," but they could not form any other sentences that would clarify whether the work was done Before or After I called to complain (I was trying to figure out if the work was done initially and the person calling misunderstood, if they had done the work after I pointed out they needed to, or if they were just lying to get me to go away). Getting nowhere with the manager it wasn't until I spoke to the Parts department (whom I give 4 stars for knowing enough about cars to answer my questions) that I finally understood what had and had not been done to my car. But I was still bothered by the fact that their "thorough 12 point inspection" uncovered ZERO of my three known oil leaks (one of which was a puddle sitting on top of the engine - right next to the place the "work was already done"). I was not able to determine whether the people here were lying, lazy, unable to communicate or just completely incompetent, but what I do know for sure is that I am not taking my vehicle here for future service under any circumstance. read more

Unethical, dishonest and immoral! I recently flew from Cleveland, Ohio to Team Chevy there in Indiana to purchase a used vehicle (White Cadillac Escalade w Cashmere colored interior) that they advertised on the internet. My husband spoke extensively with the salesman regarding the condition of the vehicle, he insured us that it was in excellent condition stating it was a "9.5 out of 10", "Very clean","never in an accident", "no body work", etc. Upon my arrival, I found the vehicle to be filthy: a yellow pool of liquid a half inch deep in the rear cup holders, the cordless headphones dripping wet from being stored in the cup holders, markings of plain grime on the back of the seats, the drivers seatbelt was filthy and goldfish crackers in the rear seat! I was told prior to booking my plane ticket that it was "very clean". When I discovered the yellow pool of liquid, the salesman said it was detergent from just having it cleaned, which is a complete joke considering how blatantly dirty the car was. The lack of cleanliness was one thing. The real kicker was when I discovered that the passengers side had been repainted and repaired by someone who had no knowledge whatsoever about the proper way in which auto body work is done. Above both door handles on the passengers side you can clearly tell where someone had taken a screwdriver and pried the handles off to repaint the passengers side (both front and rear doors), you can also clearly see in the inside of the rear passengers door where they had pried the inside door panel off with a screwdriver as there are marks on both the panel and door, you can also see marks on the silver Escalade and GM name plates on the passengers door the scratches where someone had used a screwdriver to pry the name plates off in order to repaint. Now if that all wasn't obvious enough, the retractable running board on the passengers side won't properly retract! It doesn't take a genius to tell that the vehicle has obviously been wrecked. I'm a 32 year old woman. I'm not in the auto industry at all. I could clearly tell that it had auto body repairs done. I purchased a plane ticket flying from Cleveland to Chicago (the nearest airport), the dealership picked me up from the airport in one of the dealerships vehicles, for which I was grateful (the airport is about an hour drive away) However, when I wasn't going to purchase the vehicle because I was gravely misled about the condition...they refuse to take me back to the airport! I had to pay $143 for a ride back to the airport. Not to mention my plane tickets there and back! The general manager was a complete jerk. He said it was a courtesy that he even refunded my $500 deposit to hold the vehicle overnight until I flew in. It was placed on hold at 8pm Wednesday night until approximately 2pm the very next day. He insisted that the Escalade had never been wrecked or repainted and had a clean AutoCheck report. I highly doubt the shop who preformed such a shoddy repair job even knows how to operate a computer let alone report it to CarFax. I'm astonished that any dealership or car salesman couldn't see that the Escalade had had body work done. Team Chevy not only lacks common knowledgeable pertaining to vehicle inspection, they lack both ethics and simple morals. The very least they could have done is take me back to the airport. My husband has text messages from the dealership assuring the great condition of the vehicle. I have photos of all the discrepancies seen on the vehicle. We were mislead and I was mistreated by the General Manager. Errors and Omissions! Shame on Team Chevy! If you're reading this review while considering a trip to TEAM CHEVROLET 1856 W. US 30, Valparaiso, IN 46385 from out of state, BUYER BEWARE. To the GM of Team Chevy: the least you could have said was "I apologize". The trip cost us over $730. Refusing to give me a ride back to the airport or even pay for the cost of a taxi...well, I hope this review was worth that to you. read more

my experience: had a oil change done with a coupon for $30 after coupon still cost me $43 their explantion was my car took a special oil & it cost more!!!! was told my 2013 malibu with 12,000 miles needed a four wheel alignment at $150 plus my tires needed to be re balanced at $75 total cost was $225 plus tax.. went to another chevy dealership for 2nd opinion near me & all 4 wheel alignment was $99.not ($150).but they wanted to ck alignment first to make sure it needed aligned my cost for inspection $25.if my car needed alignment they would deduct the inspection fee from the $99..after 30 minutes was told alignment wasnt needed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow what a shock--what a bunch of crooks glad i listened to that inner voice telling me something was wrong.. thought i was dealing with trust worthy people & a good company.... read more
