In my former triathlon life I could have done it but electric assist is more appropriate, especially in 45° weather. So I called after they closed but the owner picked up and helped me reserve 2 beach cruiser type bikes for the next morning. We were staying at Buffalo Lodge which is an affiliate so he bought the bikes to us. That was super convenient so we could leave our car at the lodge. We had a thorough instruction course and test ride and off we went. The bikes were well maintained and had good power. Comfortable and operated nicely. 2 hour rental was sufficient to see everything, explore a little and take lots of photos. There was a bag on the bike large enough to hold a jacket, snacks, lock, and the complimentary water. We were instructed to leave the bikes locked at our lodge and give the key to the front desk. Easy from start to end. Highly recommend.

So, I called around a bit more and found here. After laying out exactly what I wanted (which was identical to what I told the Colorado Springs people what I wanted), they gave me a price that was thousands of dollars cheaper. I visited e-bike of Colorado because I was looking for a commuter e-bike. I needed something…read morecomfortable for getting around town, going to the gym, and other short trips, maybe up to 20 miles. They have a wide selection of styles and brands. The staff listened to what I wanted and found the perfect bike for me--a Gazelle with a Belt Drive that does everything I need and more. Ivo Vargas, the head mechanic, set up my bike quickly and did a fantastic job. He also added their Flat Tire Protection (an add-on, but if you've ever stepped on a goat head, you know you want it). I was so surprised when they called me the next day to say my bike was for pickup, even though they say it (currently) takes 4 days - speak about over-delivering. The shop has a great atmosphere, there's no pressure to buy bikes or accessories, and the service team is excellent. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family.
