We visited Team Tongue Tie at the recommendation of our pediatrician and did not have a good experience with our revision process. We were having feeding issues with our newborn, and he was not effectively transferring milk even after a tie release from our pediatrician. We had a lengthy onboarding call with their salesy office manager and were instructed to send videos and photos of our feeding process and of our family (there is no in-person exam on consultation before your visit). The call felt a bit pushy but we scheduled a revision at the quickest opportunity in an effort to save our breastfeeding relationship with our newborn. We met with the doctor, and she explained the revision process. We were led to believe the exercises and follow-up care would be manageable, and that the procedure would hurt but would heal quickly...which I truly believe is a misleading claim. The procedure did hurt our little guy and the exercises that required care every 2-3 hours for several weeks were TRAUMATIC for both my postpartum self and my newborn. He bled for several days and massaging the open wounds made him cry, cry and cry. He cried so much and was so upset that he didn't want to breastfeed. I also was crying because I was the one that chose to hurt his mouth and then had to continue to massage it to get the "best" results just so that I could continue to breastfeed. During my follow-ups, the lactation consultant made a mistake during our weighted feed and blamed it on me. We were also told he was transferring much more milk at the office than we had confirmed by a third-party weighted feed and lactation consultant. When I texted the Team Tongue Tie for lactation advice, and requested another weighted feed due to their prior error and about my concerns it was recommended that I drive to Vista to join a breastfeeding support group..which as a new parent who was home alone (after a c section) was just not a possibility. I was not able to sustain my pumping/breastfeeding as a solo parent after my spouse returned to work. My baby is thriving on 100% formula & bottles now that the Tongue Tie trauma is behind us. I do not know if the tongue tie revision will help my son in the future (I hope it does!), but I do wish I had gone to another provider instead of Team Tongue Tie....it felt the opposite of a supportive Team for our family. I am glad that others had good experiences and truly wish that we did not have a bad experience during such a vulnerable time. read more

This office is exceptional at all they do! The doctors and staff are all very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My kids had their lip ties revised at another office when they were infants and we were told they did not have tongue ties, let alone buccal ties! I wish I had known about this place instead of taking them to the other office. Recently my daughter was complaining a lot when brushing her teeth. This was common for her to complain but at that moment she seemed to be in serious pain. I got the flashlight and saw how restricted the side of her cheeks were and how red they were from brushing and stretching it. This lead me to research and luckily a friend recommended TTT! My daughter (4 years old) was scheduled and the appointment went really well. She cried for a few minutes during the procedure. At the two day follow up appointment my husband and I decided to also get it done, along with our 6 year old son, since Dr. Sacker assessed us on the first visit too and we all had multiple ties. My son didn't cry at all during the procedure, which was shocking! Once he saw us afterwards he started crying but again it wasn't too bad over all. Mine and my husband's were harder, since we're adults and the ties are much thicker. My husband ended up having more ties than anyone the office had seen before! The procedure itself is pretty fast, just a few minutes. The after care was the hardest part for me. It was painful and really grossed me out, but I would totally do it again if I had to. The results are life changing! My son's behavior was the most notable thing. He and I were always mouth breathers and ever since getting the revisions, we are now breathing through our noses. I've even tried the Healthy Start System for early orthodontic treatment for him to expand his jaw. I wish I had known about this before! Within the first week after the procedure he lost his first tooth! His mouth was so crowded before and with the releases was finally able to expand. He is sleeping a lot better at night, no longer snoring, getting much more oxygen by breathing through his nose. This alone has dramatically changed his behavior for the better. My daughter's speech has improved a little- it's been 3 months since we had this done. She no longer complains about her toothbrush hurting so that's a huge bonus too! My husband is no longer snoring and his face doesn't feel tight like it used to be. He doesn't grind his teeth as much anymore either and he's sleeping better. For myself, I am no longer a mouth breather! In the past I would try to breathe through my nose because I know it's the way we're supposed to, but it was so difficult. Now I can tell the difference where my tongue is resting on the top of my mouth and no longer anchored tightly to the bottom. I wish I had known about this a lot earlier in life. I'm sleeping way better than before, and I was already a solid sleeper. I have a lot more energy throughout my day from the increased oxygen. My face muscles feel like they are relaxed more and it's just really amazing not having to consciously think about closing my mouth when breathing. The kids did some speech therapy sessions afterwards and we all are doing chiropractic care to help ease the muscles in the neck and face specifically. Now we just need the chiropractor to reopen with the lockdown going on! The orthodontic appliance my son has is helpful post surgery too as part of myofunctional therapy. I booked an appointment with Team Tongue Tie for my at-the-time 8 week old son back in November after I had speculations he had ties (never caught by the 3 pediatricians that I had taken him to for his sleep/eating/weight gain/reflux/colic issues). As the appt neared and I kept researching, I almost backed out because I got so nervous about performing an "unnecessary procedure" for my baby. I went through with it anyway and BOY am I glad I did!!! From birth to 8.5 weeks he only gained ~1lb and within a couple weeks after getting the procedure he gained ~2lbs! My poor baby was struggling to eat that whole time. Broke my heart. First, let me start with my husband and I highly recommend Team Tongue Tie to family & friends. It was a miracle finding them when I was at my lowest point in breastfeeding my baby, I almost gave up, but luckily I found my hope! And now I am continuing to breastfeed my baby. Taking our baby to Team Tongue Tie was the best decision ever !! From the very beginning when I spoke to Scott and explained the situation I felt so much better because he understood my concerns. This is Such a welcoming environment the minute you walk in which put us at ease since our LO was 3 weeks at the time. Found out about Dr. Sacker through a Lactation Consultant. Even though we live nearly 2 hours away, we made the trip for our newborn and we are so glad we did. My son's frenectomy went smoothly and his recovery and our experience there after was exactly as they told us it would be. Hands down the best decision we ever made!! I was struggling with my baby's latch since day 1. I had a lactation consultant check her mouth twice and her pediatrician. I was just about to give up breastfeeding when she couldn't latch to a bottle either! She also was making a horrible clicking sound while eating and was extremely gassy and not sleeping well. So I pushed and finally got a different lactation consultant to see me (Kaiser did not make this easy) and she referred me to team tongue tie. It makes me extremely sad and disappointed to have to write this review. My son was a patient of Dr. Sacker and her team last year. She was amazing and her staff as well, we had a great experience ( all things considered). However fast forward to a year later, I now have twins and was told one had a possible tongue tie. I called TTT for an evaluation because of my previous experience. I spoke with Scott and made an appointment for the following week. Unfortunately my entire family was hit with a cold and I had to reschedule. I then received multiple phone calls from Scott about rescheduling that day, I also received a text message stating that if I didn't reschedule he would delete my account. Not sure why it needed to be an extreme situation where I needed to reschedule that day or else I would be erased from their system, I was sick and dealing with three children who were also sick, didn't exactly have much time to answer his phone calls right away. I felt it was aggressive but I didn't make it an issue. I contacted Scott the next day to reschedule for the following week when I had expected my family, including myself, to be recovered. He made sure to remind me that I needed to send a video of myself breastfeeding my son and that it needed to be done before my appointment. That weekend I received an email from Scott yet again to tell me to upload a media file of my son breastfeeding for Dr. Sacker to review before our appointment. I thought this was a bit strange when it was first mentioned to me as I never had to do that before and also why would she need to review it before hand isn't that what my consultation is for? Having three children under the age of two I barely have time to feed myself let alone make a video breastfeeding nor did I feel comfortable with it. The night before my appointment I received another text message from Scott at 10:55pm asking if I planned on sending the video, it was very odd. He seemed very persistent via phone, email and text about uploading a video with myself exposed feeding my child. That morning I responded with an email that I needed to reschedule my appointment, my kids and myself were still not feeling well. Apparently that didn't sit well with Scott because I received a very rude and unprofessional email response stating that I wasn't a legitimate client, even though my son was a patient just last year and that he was "deleting my account." I understand that everybody has their off days but that's no excuse to treat people especially repeat clients with such disrespect. Not only had I planned to be a "legitimate" client again but I had also recommended TTT to several other people. I have no doubt Dr. Sacker and her team are still great however because of the way I was treated by Scott I can not return there nor will I refer anybody else to TTT. Very disappointing. read more

So grateful for Team Tongue Tie and all their support! A Nicu nurse first referred me when I self-diagnosed my toddler with lip tie. After having the laser procedure done, my 18-month old's vowel pronunciation improved immediately and the gap between her front teeth was half the distance smaller within 2 weeks. (I hadn't even noticed her having any speech issue until I heard her speaking clearly on the drive home. That Instant gratification is what motivated me to do her after-care stretches. Our experience with Team Tongue Tie was incredible!!! When we visited the IBCLC for struggles with nursing, she saw that my daughter had a lip, tongue and cheek ties. Immediately, she recommended Dr. Alisa Sacker and their CO2 laser treatment. When we called and spoke to Scott, his presence and care was felt over the phone and we knew our decision to drive to see Team Tongue Tie was the right thing. At the first appt, Dr. Sacker sat and talked with us, evaluated our daughter, and went over in detail each step of the treatment process. The procedure took all but seconds, and then we were back in the meeting room with an IBCLC, who went over the stretching involved to keep the ties from reattaching. At each appt, we felt loved on and heard by each staff member and IBCLC. Each question we had was answered and followed up with tips and tricks. I called team tongue tie because my two year old has a speech delay. I received a call back that seemed like a sales pitch and was told my son needed the surgery without them ever even meeting him. When we went in for the consultation the dr. barely looked in his mouth and announced he had a tongue, lip and cheek tie that needed to be cut to help his speech. When I became concerned about the lack of exam, I explained to her the speech therapist and pediatrician said that it was mild and was not effecting his speech and that he could easily move his tongue. The dr. told me that my pediatrician was uneducated. I told her that I wanted a second opinion because I just did NOT get a good feeling, she told me that pediatricians, ENTs and speech therapists cannot diagnose a tongue tie (I guess Team Tongue Tie are the only people that can diagnose a tongue tie? even though a 2 min google search shows that ENTs CAN diagnose tongue ties). Today I saw the ENT at a hospital that does multiple tongue tie surgeries a week for the second opinion and he assured me that my son did not have a tongue tie that was preventing him from talking. The ENT told me that he has heard this same story about team tongue tie with the sales pitch and ordering surgery without even seeing the child. He praised me for going to get a second opinion. My son has also has made huge progress in the past few months with his speech and is no longer delayed. I am SO GLAD I went with my gut. I honestly think Team Tongue Tie would give anyone a tongue tie surgery, I wonder if they turn anyone away? My friend who had her 18 month old's tongue tie cut there with a speech delay saw no difference after the surgery, I am guessing he didn't need the surgery and he still struggles with speech today. Please be wary of this place, they pray on scared moms worried about their kids. I have no doubt a lot of kids that see them need the surgery for nursing but my fear is that a lot of people that see them don't need it and they do it anyway. Please seek a second opinion if you aren't convinced surgery is needed. read more

I am so happy I trusted my mom instinct and contacted Team Tongue Tie against my own pediatricians recommendation. He figured since my son was gaining weight just fine it was HIGHLY improbable that ties were an issue. However, he wasn't the one battling with my gassy baby to latch, only to have him suckle for max 10 minutes then tire out. He definitely wasn't the one repeating this painful process every 45 minutes to an hour 24/7. I was exhausted and knew there had to be something to help. That's when I contacted Team Tongue Tie. When I called, Scott Sacker answered and spent so much time answering all my questions and concerns. It was comforting to actually feel supported that something could be done if my son was determined to have ties. I knew I needed to get him evaluated so I set up an appointment. When we arrived I immediately felt at ease. The facility itself is beautiful, comforting and clean. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Again, they answered any and all of my questions, but ultimately let it be my decision if I wanted to continue with the procedure after Dr. Sacker concluded he indeed had ties. They assured me it would help him, but they never pressured to proceed with the procedure if I was uncomfortable. After a few minutes in private with my partner, we knew we wanted to proceed and we are so happy we did. The procedure itself was less than 10 minutes and we immediately met with the lactation specialist to nurse. I was amazed. Even directly after the procedure, my son latched on and drank more efficiently and easily than he had ever since birth. We were given more tips and pointers for better nursing and instructions on post-procedure exercises to ensure proper healing. Before leaving, we were ensured if we had absolutely any questions or concerns not to hesitates to contact Dr. Sacker even over the weekend. As a mother herself, she knows the importance of reassurance when it comes to your child's health and wellness and made herself available to us. I felt at ease knowing I wouldn't have to wait until Monday if a question arose, even though it didn't and everything was completely normal! As a new parent, the decision to release my daughters ties were scary. She was only 4 weeks old when we were recommended TTT. The initial phone conversation, I was comforted to know just how knowledgeable, caring, and experienced TTT was. When we decided to move forward- the team was AMAZING throughout the entire experience, answered all our questions, and truly cared for our daughter. I was so upset over the horrific pain and frustration of trying to get a good latch and feed my baby. I was already a wreck and stressing out over the cost of treatment well before I made the call. Scott was so patient on the phone and explained everything to me. I called back a day or so later to schedule our visit. Everything about the team here is amazing. I can't thank Dr. Sacker & Dr. Berger enough for all their help with our little one to help save our breastfeeding journey. Our baby was born the beginning of March and it was a struggle trying to find help with breastfeeding once everything shut down due to Covid. I finally connected with a LC because I was about to give up on breastfeeding all together. She recommended an appt with TTT to assess for tongue & lip ties. I didn't act sooner because the pediatrician said my daughter was fine. Being a first time mom I didn't ask more questions until I started realizing that a feeding shouldn't take over an hour when the baby is 5 weeks old. And our baby also dropped from the 79th percentile in weight to the 10th and she also would not latch without a nipple shield. So we met with Dr. Sacker and she explained everything to us and showed us the lip, tongue & cheek ties our daughter had. So glad I learned about Team Tongue Tie! We were recommended by a lactation consultant because while our little one was gaining weight, she had a tongue tie that was negatively affecting breastfeeding. And guess what? I had one too! My daughter and I ended up both getting our ties reversed (her: upper lip, tongue, and cheek/buccal; me: upper lip, lower lip, and tongue) and we are both better off for it. We live in orange county. It is a hour drive to their office. Mom had a fever two nights before our scheduled appointment due to congestion of milk and improper latching of the baby(initially our lactation consultant suspect there might be a tongue tie issue). Went to the clinic nearby in the morning and got some suggestions. After careful consideration, we decided to cancel the appointment with them for now to give the baby another try. Text them 24h before the appointment for cancellation. I know for a small business of their size, it is frustrated for them to receive short notice. We apologized for that and we are very sorry to do this to them too. But there is no need to say" we will not accept your rescheduling in the future" . What a bad and immature attitude. read more

Team tongue tie is amazing. Our 1 week old daughter had lip, tongue and buccal ties that were causing extreme breastfeeding difficulties. Dr. Sacker, Dr. Berger as well as the other staff at team tongue tie are very dedicated to help fix and ensure all problems are resolved. They have a care and compassion for each patient that I rarely find amount doctor offices. Every person in that office left us with a great experience for such a terrible thing to have to put a tiny baby through. We noticed our little guy's tongue tie just a few hours after being born and thankful our midwife (who has done extensive research on tongue ties) immediately recommended Team Tongue Tie. He was born on Thursday night, I called and left a message after hours on Friday night, then received a call back from Scott Sacker (Dr. Alisa Sacker's husband) on Saturday. Scott was incredibly helpful and surprisingly understanding about what mom's struggling to breastfeed a baby with tongue ties go through. He was able to schedule us for a consultation & the procedure on Monday, which was a huge relief since I was at the point of needing to pump to avoid mastitis and bottle feed our little guy. Thankfully he took a bottle without issue for the morning before the procedure. At the consultation, every person was incredibly kind and helpful. Dr. Sackers is awesome and eased every concern I had prior to the procedure. She even pointed out that he not only had a tongue tie, but also a lip tie and cheek ties on both sides. No wonder breastfeeding was so painful! My first two kids did not have any ties, so this was all new to me and I'm thankful we got it taken care of so quickly. The actual procedure was over by the time I returned from the restroom and you wouldn't even have known he had the procedure, as he was perfectly content.
