They use products that actually work and give life to my uber straight, normally limp hair. Hands down the best haircut I have ever had! Booked with Melissa for a cut and was completely stood up - super unprofessional! Was buzzed in to the building by Melissa, waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room - and when I finally texted her to ask about the appointment, was told that she double-booked (and yes, I received multiple confirmation emails and texts from her the week before) and could not squeeze me in. Could she not have told me that when she buzzed me in, rather than ignoring me for over 45 minutes and wasting my time? I absolutely LOVE my haircut! I haven't gotten a real cut (Rudy's doesn't count) in over 10 years and I didn't know how good my hair could actually look. Melissa was amazing. I called and told her I wanted a cut and possibly color. She told me to come right in and she would see what she could do. She gave me exactly the cut I was hoping for and I am going back in for highlights next week. Can't wait to finish my look. FYI, cuts are $60 and it's totally worth it! UPDATE: I scheduled an appointment with another salon in Belltown because Melissa is so incredibly popular that I couldn't get in with her soon enough. Big mistake. I've only gotten my hair colored a hand-full of times in my life and each one left me underwhelmed or in tears (not happy ones). I've only been to big chain salons like Gene Juarez or Regis, etc., so I was definitely nervous about trying a new, much smaller salon. I chose to try Tease for a cut/full balayage based on the Yelp reviews and proximity, and I can honestly say I'll never go to another salon. Nicka did the most amazing job and I was almost in tears again with how beautiful I felt when I left. I liked my hair uncolored before but now I absolutely LOVE it and have been receiving compliments wherever I go. My hair is naturally very dark so I was nervous to lighten it but she made it look so natural and perfectly blended. It also feels even healthier than it did before. It's extra shiney, soft and strong. Beyond the quality cut/paint she did, the experience was wonderful. We just chatted about life the whole time and she was so sweet and engaging. In need of a new stylist, I was referred to Misty at Tease Salon. Misty was specifically mentioned to me by my friend so, I used her online booking system to book an appointment with her. I love that I got a text confirmation and a reminder for my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I met Misty and we discussed what I'd like my color to be like. She showed me some sample colors and we agreed on a few to foil in. The results were beyond my expectations. She used a technique I've never had before and the results are impressive. Bright, vibrant color! Did I mention Misty is a total sweetheart too? Her small salon is adorable as well and centrally located on NW 15th. I'm coming out of Yelp retirement because I've kept thinking over the past week how great my hair is, which is not a typical attitude I have, post-chop. I do not typically unequivocally love new haircuts. Much less new haircuts which take off more than six inches of length. Nicka perfectly interpreted what I wanted. She took a peek at a couple of inspiration photos, but she didn't waffle around figuring out what to execute - she just gave me a couple thoughts and then got to work. I love this salon. There are just two stylists, the owners Nicka and Melissa! I see Nicka and have had a range of services over the years which have all turned out incredible. My usual is balayge or highlight. But we've also had some fun and I bleached my whole head and went pastel pink for about 8 months with one session in between to re-bleach my roots. Even the grow-out from that turned out fine and the transition back to blonde was easy. I also got tape in extensions that were incredible and lasted MONTHS. I've gotten in the habit of booking out my appointments and that works great for me. The salon is gorgeous with high ceilings and great product. read more

I am a psychopath when it comes to my hair and my God! I got a trim today from Melissa Paull and my hair is fcking gorgeous! Right when she started cutting my hair I knew I would love her because she cut my hair in pieces and a lot of hair dressers just cut straight across and then soften the ends up because its easier but it never looks as nice as when its done in sections. Then she put in a few long layers on the left side of my hair to clean up the ends where I used to have pieces of hair framing my face and it was just beautiful. She blow dried my hair with a thickening mousse and styled it and I literally haven't seen my hair so gorgeous in ever. Definitely worth the money. Definitely returning. read more

I met Nicka one night and she was super fun and we had become Facebook friends, and that's where I saw her flawless talent. I instantly knew she was who I was going to, to get my hair done next. I booked my appointment online which was easy and even got a confirmation a couple days prior to my appointment. When I got there the salon was absolutely adorable and I was offered a drink, all though I didn't get a glass a wine, who wouldn't want a little wine while getting pampered? I had a couple pictures that I showed her that I liked and she totally turned my vision into reality. She took her time to perfect my hair which made me feel like she really cares about her clients needs, which is nice, I don't want to feel like I'm just another person. Her and Melissa are both nice and I would definitely recommend going to either one of them for your hair care needs. The cost is worth every penny and you won't be disappointed! She gives suggestions on different things to do with my hair including cuts, colors, and even products to use that I find very helpful.
