There are so many bubble tea shops in Jersey City, sometimes making it hard to choose. However, I definitely recommend stopping by Teazzi Tea Shop. It's a small little establishment right off Grove street. I came in and as a green tea fan, I knew I had to give the Mango Green Tea a try. I got it less sweet, light ice, and added boba to it as well. The service was quick and it took about five minutes for them to get my drink ready. They only have one size, and I was pleasantly surprised by how large it was. One sip, and I knew I had found a new hidden gem. Didn't expect to find my new favorite cocoa sea foam drink at a tea shop, but here we are. The Coco Oolong Sea Salt Milk Tea is the one to get. The salty foam cuts the sweetness perfectly and the cocoa flavor is strong but smooth. It's cold only and no custom sugar level, but honestly it doesn't need adjusting. Four Seasons Oolong with sesame and peanut mochi was rich and comforting. Very filling and great for colder weather. I personally found their execution to make the drinks perhaps watery and mild than I would've liked, but I do enjoy the fact that I can clearly tell that they are using fresh ingredients. It's super convenient to anyone living in Jersey City since it's very close to the Grove Street path station. Teazzi is known to have slightly better teas than the average shop, and I was glad to see this location open in Jersey City a few months ago. It is very small - you have to grab-and-go your drinks - and it can get very busy! They have 3 self-order stations and the front counter to order at. This location also has a board where you can see how many orders are ahead of yours so you have an idea of how long it will take. What I love about Teazzi is their huge range of tea flavors, and that you can customize both sugar and ice levels from 0% to 100% The cup sizes are larger than average which makes the prices a pretty good deal. I usually get the black tea or a seasonal fruit tea ($5.75) with boba, which came to $6.13 after tax. I've been here a few times now and I noticed that the quality of their tea (depending on what you get) generally seems to be better than your average boba place.  However, it definitely comes at a higher price. After trying a few different teas, I'd say that they're pretty good at making darker teas.  I also enjoy drinking jasmine (green) milk tea and when I tried theirs I didn't think it was as good so I'd continue getting their oolongs, pu'er or other dark teas in the future. Topping wise they're pretty solid, I've tried their boba and grass jelly.  They will only allow you to add grass jelly for cold beverages since they're worried it'll melt though I've gotten it in hot drinks elsewhere before. Overall, a solid spot for bubble tea if you're willing to pay the higher price tag.  Good as a treat yourself spot for sure.  I'll definitely be back to try out other options! read more

Very long line to order. You wait for a machine to open up and order on the screen. Mine came out to $9. Which is pretty pricey for boba. I stepped outside to wait and noticed that their online queue wasn't updating so I went inside and indeed my drink was ready. Took 10 min. I spilled a little and noticed it was a bright blood red. It didn't taste like tea. It tasted like fruit punch. I ordered a floral rose tea with 30% sugar and got something 100% sugar and tasted like juice. The boba and jelly were very good though. The boba was warm and subtle, chewy and stretchy in a good way. The jelly was light. The drink was expensive but it was huge. The boba also has a sweet taste to it. Probably the best boba in the area. I don't like how the cups are not clear so your can't see your drink through it. I had to tear the top open to see the last drops of jelly and boba. All in all it was good just not what I was expecting at all. I came back a second time and got honey amber oolong tea and really liked it. Omg, this place is the best! I got addicted to their house special milk tea. I always order the same drink when I visit and I refuse to try and new drinks. The house special mile tea has boba and oats inside. The oats inside makes it so much better. I don't know how to describe it but it's like a moist crunchy texture. Disclaimer: I am very proud of my good college friend who opened up a Teazzi Tea Shop in the Bay Area. It's a bit too difficult for me to pay a quick visit to her shop, but when she told me about her entrepreneurial endeavors, I just had to drive down to Jersey City to try the Teazzi brand. As with all boba shops, it's counter service. There is no real seating area in the Jersey City shop. Just a lone bench. Their regular house special milk tea has oats. I am still not sure how I feel about that. Part of me was thinking wow, this tea just feels healthier, but part of me was thinking what are these soggy bits of cereal doing in my tea? Oats aside, the boba was made well - not too chewy and not too squishy. The tea was good - not overly sweet (note that I always get 30% sugar), not diluted out. Been here twice in two days. It's really good. If you being able to taste the flavor of tea, and good quality tea at that, this is the spot for you. I tried their original milk tea with boba that has some oatmeal it it, iced, and it was very good. My MIL tried the taro milk tea, added extra taro, and could not get over how much taro was in it. ( This is a good sign, believe me) The next day, I got the Honey Oolong Lemonade ( again you could really taste the tea, I didn't add as much sugar so you could also taste the sourness of the lemonade... it was very refreshing, but if I had to do it again, I would up the honey level to 70%, my ratio was 50% honey/70% ice, but I just like it a bit more sweet, I could still taste the actual flavors of tea and lemon). The real winner though was the Honey Amber Oolong Milk Tea (50 % honey, 70% ice, with tea jelly) - omg this was so so good!! Like having a dessert in a cup but way less sweet and tea forward. I'd definitely go back again and try some more things. The shop itself is small, but there is enough space for one table that seats about 2-3 people. You can order online, at the counter, or at one of the self service kiosks ( love this ). Each drink has multiple choices - how much sugar you and ( 0, 30%, 50%, 70%, 100%), Ice level ( same amounts as sugar), what type of milk you want and also if you want to add any toppings!! If there are any recommended amounts, that will be labeled but you can always choose it to your liking!! I find that really fun as I love trying out different combinations - but if you feel overwhelmed just go with the recommendations! They also serve these little 3 inch french tarts. Tea is good, especially their bubble milk tea. However the staffs are rude and unfriendly. The staffs wouldn't even say hi back when we walked in saying hi to them. And that happens everytime. All the staffs work there are rude and unfriendly, and they only shout in Chinese that no one understands if people don't speak that language. I really don't enjoy going in there at all. My personal favorite tea shop in the tristate area. I was thrilled when it came to Jersey City . The amber oolong and other popular milk teas there are a must. I also like the house tea. I found that 70% sugar level was perfect, and it's delicious hot and cold . The staff are friendly at ordering time and also efficient at getting your order done.
