    Microwaved but still tasty

TL;DR: good boba, good food, great atmosphere! Could use more Filipino inspiration in the drinks (taro? Why not ube?) Beautiful art adorns the walls, hand written and drawn and not a scrawl. The place is spacious and roomy and very inviting, but there are a few things I must start highlighting. First, the Filipino inspiration is very clear in the decor, but when it comes to the food there is more to explore. The drinks are classic boba flavors, but I'd love to see something unique; maybe calamansi or taho, or mango, you see? Second, the food although yum but was probably microwaved, and tbh that's just not the kind of food I really craved. Last of all, the boba was good, certainly not the best, but I must say this cute Filipino spot still passes the test. (Bonus: Free WiFi and chargers galore)

What the he*ck is this? Bola-Bola (Asian meatballs)

Bubble tea was delicious but Bola-Bola (Asian meatballs) was awful. See photo attached. There were no sauce or vegetables and just sad looking small meatballs were on rice. Very disappointed. Don't order food from here.

A perfect fusion of Pinoy BOBA PLACE. when visiting Newwark NJ, Don't miss dropping by to chill and have the bursting taste of MANILA Mango Graham, Halo-halo and taho bubble tea. If you are hungry , pls have the bistek and chicken adibo wraps. For TO GO, cheesecake toast is must have! Very warm and welcoming owners too, Glady and Ace and their staff has the nicest smile to welcome you.

Large 24 oz. Ube-Mac (one size only, I believe--very tasty!)

In the last year or so it's been nice to see the trickle of new, enjoyable food places in the Five Corners/Hilltop part of Jersey City--Sagoto is the first bubble tea-dedicated spot in the neighborhood, and I'm glad it's a good one! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had some interesting combos under their specials, with definitely a lot of Filipinx influences. I got the Ube-Mac special (ube and young coconut) as a shake and added bubbles to it. The special drinks cost a little more and are all large -- mine was $8 which was a little more than expected. That said, it was very good! They can make accommodations for sugar level --I got mine without sugar and it was plenty sweet for me. Did not look too closely at the food/snacks but might give them a try the next time I'm around. There's also a nice vibe here--lots of young people hanging out after school and making music together. It looks like they keep the instruments around and have (or plan to have) music every now and then. All in all, very glad to have this place in the neighborhood and I will definitely be back!

Gone are the tables, chairs, stage, and lights. The venue has been revamped due to covid-19. It is now half a mini grocery store. Still has the same great drinks and service with inspirational quotes throughout. I am blessed to have Sagoto in the neighborhood to quench my bubble tea thirst and was thrilled to see them reopen. I will continue to come here to support local businesses!

really good bubble tea!! the atmosphere is aesthetic, comforting, and fun, not to mention the beautiful calligraphy, lights, and design of the establishment. the prices are fair and they even have tasty specials, the matcha, and thai tea are made the best here. the only thing from keeping it a 5-star rating is the taste of the tapioca balls. since tapioca is given with every drink its just as important as the tea, but the bubbles at Sagoto are not as jelly-like and have a bland taste rather than the usually slightly sweet. but other then that - great tea and it's definitely a place ill be visiting often!

Peach season is back and so is my favorite peach drink…read more The Peach Cheese was full of big, juicy peach pieces. You can really taste the difference when drinks are made with fresh fruit. The Pineapple Bobo with coconut milk was another good one. Pineapple and boba worked surprisingly well together. Black Grape Cheese is still my go-to. I always get it with no sugar and it's honestly not sweet at all. Mango Sago is my husband's favorite. Even with no added sugar, it's still naturally sweet because the mango is so ripe. For fresh fruit tea in JC, this is still my favorite spot. Get the seasonal fruit drinks while they're available. And you might get lucky and see the cute guy working behind the counter.

Heads up, this place is extremely small, i don't even recall any area inside to sit. Think all orders here are for to go. When i arrived, i order via a kiosk and the person making the drink was able to make it fairly quickly. ended up getting a mango sago drink. most boba places i go to now, i typically order a version of a mango sago drink. guess i'm in my mango era. overall, decent place to get your milk tea / boba drink.

Molly Tea Jersey City is a nice addition to the local bubble tea scene, with a focus on tea-forward…read moredrinks rather than just sweetness. We walked into a clean, modern space with a calm, inviting energy that makes it feel more like a specialty tea shop than a typical bubble tea stop. The interior is bright and thoughtfully designed, with enough seating to sit and enjoy your drink, and the overall atmosphere stays relaxed and approachable throughout the visit. The drinks we tried were enjoyable, especially the ones where the tea flavor came through clearly. The jasmine-based drinks stood out with a noticeable floral aroma, and the overall quality felt better than a standard chain milk tea. The flavors were balanced and not overly sweet, which makes the drinks feel lighter compared to some typical boba spots, and the ability to adjust sweetness levels gives you control over how the flavors come together. The menu offers a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, and matcha-based drinks, and the tea base is clearly the focus rather than just a vehicle for sugar and toppings. The matcha drinks had a smooth, earthy profile that avoided the bitterness often found at other shops, and the fruit teas were refreshing and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the ordering process was quick, even when the shop got busy. The team handled the steady flow efficiently, and the service stayed organized and welcoming throughout our visit. Pricing is about what you would expect for specialty boba, though it can add up if you visit frequently, and the quality of the ingredients and the focus on tea flavor make the cost feel more justified. Molly Tea is a solid option for anyone looking for higher-quality tea drinks with more unique flavors. It offers a drink experience that feels more intentional than the average bubble tea stop, and we would return to try more options, especially when in the mood for something tea-focused rather than just a sweet drink.

It's not your run of the mill bubble tea shop or shops that use powdered ingredients to make their teas. Lapsang salted cheese milk tea - it has a generous cocoa powder topping which masks the flavor of the tea. It tasted more like milk chocolate, which isn't bad, but I would have preferred the tea flavor to come through Snowy Jasmine - really nice! Jasmine can be a mild and delicate tea but the flavor comes through here. I love the whipped cream topping and the pecans, which adds a dimension to the drink. All drinks also come in an insulated tote bag.
