I like the look of the layer and the cream top gives another layer of flavor to the coffee. Sober Shot is a treat! I come to Jersey City to visit one of my friends a few times a year, and I always like to stop in. My favorite drink is their iced coffee with the strawberry foam! I've never had a coffee with strawberry foam before and it is genuinely one of my favorite things I've ever had. I do wish they offered smaller sizes though. We walked by Sober Shot the other day and I was intrigued. On the outside you can tell it's a coffee shop, but I had no idea what kind of coffee they sold until I looked them up on Yelp. I was immediately intrigued. Right before the pandemic hit, I tried a carbonated tea drink in Manhattan and loved it. I'm also a huge fan of nitro coffee. So it's only natural that I opted to go for the Not Too Sober, which is an Americano with cold foam top. I LOVED it. The flavors mixed so well together. On its own, the foam top is a bit salty. But together with the bitter and sweet coffee, it really added to the flavor profile. They're running a combo where you can get select drinks + their egg carton (an egg shaped cake that's popular street food in Asia) for $9.50. An amazing deal and we loved the eggs so much. They remind me of these drum cakes that they sell in Japan filled with custard and chocolate. I'm so happy I found this cafe and cannot wait to be back to try more drinks! read more

The worker was really nice and told us the white top was made of heavy cream and a condensed milk so I was very excited to have it on top of my matcha I figured it would be similar to a sweet cold foam but I was VERY WRONG. The white top tastes like cheese? It's really weird and I wasn't expecting it at all. With that being said the matcha was really good and when it started mixing it wasn't bad kind of like a matcha cheese cake but I had to scoop some off the top because it was a lot. One thing I appreciated was that almond and soy milk are free (oat was extra). We got the Not So Sober (americano with white foam) and the Blue Monday (latte plus butterfly pea). The drinks are definitely aesthetically pleasing and decent. The Not So Sober definitely turned out to be sweeter than expected. Cute place for unique coffees! I ordered the sober shot which was carbonated espresso with cream on ice! Honestly was very good, different and I loved the fizz. They have a lot of different options for coffee and matcha lattes that are all aesthetically pleasing. I give a 3 star however due to the wait and questionable cleanliness. This costs $$$ so get ready to shell out. The white top (foamy creamy sweet milk) was different me at first I thought it was cheese foam which is a turn off for me. But that first sip was strong all I tasted was the white top foam haha. But you gotta sip a bit more then the "bubbly" expresso seeps through . Then, it's a nice sparkilng and cheese foam like consistency all together! So after a few sour face sips I shook the cup to mix it all coz I can't just keep drinking the expresso through the foam! Btw, the lids are incredible preventing spills. I didn't shake it like a barista but a light shake back and forth didn't spill my drink! Now that it's shook , it's a way better taste!! I've walked past Sober Shot a few times after getting bagels across the street at Wonder Bagel. I always thought that the name, along with their sign - which appears to be made of white duct tape - made it a strange looking place. After hearing good things from others and on Yelp, I decided to give it a try. I ordered their namesake drink, the Sober Shot, and really enjoyed it. First of all, the drink itself is huge and more than a fair size for the price, unlike most coffee shops which charge $5-$6 for a drink that is a few ounces smaller. I was skeptical of the fact that these drinks have sparkling water in them, but I really enjoyed my drink. It tasted like a slightly carbonated cold foam cold brew; the carbonation was barely noticeable. Overall, very interesting taste and a unique offering compared to other local coffee spots. I did knock off a star because their menu doesn't do a great job of explaining what each drink actually is. Had I not looked on Yelp in advance of showing up to the shop, I would have had no idea what I was ordering. Very cute cafe with nice decorations inside. The drinks are all very unique, but be aware as they are pretty pricey. I feel like it all really depends on the barista, because I went twice and the first time, it was really good and I absolutely loved it. But the next time I went, it was really watered down (from the first sip)/flavorless, and I barely drank it. I was trying to decide between the regular unnormal sober shot or the sexy matcha, so I asked the cashier to give me her reco. She said the unnormal sober shot had a cleaner taste so I went with that. Wasn't sure what she meant by "clean" but that's exactly what I felt when I tasted it! It was surprisingly really good. I am a huge matcha fan!! Soooo, when I saw this place In jersey city I was super excited to see the pretty drinks I saw online along with the fact that its advertised explaining what your drinking. This is a cool look spot great for work. They have this cute sweet Taiwanese street food that comes in 8 in an egg carton. I tried vanilla and chocolate custard and tuna. I suggest the custard though they are a bit too sweet, they are very cute and come piping hot soft and fresh. The kids would love this. I tried a sparkling drink (sober shot) and it wasn't my thing but others liked it. They can make all the drinks without the seltzer like taste as well Instead I opted for a plain mocha which has Nutella in it; it was light on the Nutella so I asked for more Nutella.
