One day my Mac screen went completely black. I figured it was a backlight issue so I brought it to Tech Mac Repair. Sally attended to me and assured me that it would be fixed - I was worried because I'm a college student so I absolutely needed it and don't really have money to buy a brand new one. Has to be the worst Tech Mac Repair place around. They should be ashamed of themselves. Unhelpful once they received my money to run the diagnostic. No report and I would not be surprised if they even did a diagnostic. Rude and talk so fast so you have to ask- "What did you say?" more than once. Wish I would have known they were so horrible. Do not trust them whatsoever. My repair was for hard drive to be repaired or investigation- on if it could be repaired, or not. I should have gone to the MicroCenter- in Richardson. Horrible experience and poor service skills. They do not deserve 1 star. read more

Reasons for 1 star review: Though I have no issue with the in person customer service (Sally was cordial throughout the process) my issues are: 1) the location is closed at times during normal business hours. I waited 30 minutes outside one day for someone to open the store. Another day it was closed 1.5 hours before it was scheduled to close. 2) I tried to call to verify if someone would be there before driving 20 minutes to get there, but their number is a google voice number. I left 2 messages and called multiple times but no one ever answers or returns my calls. 3) I called multiple times because I was told a diagnostic would take 4 days to complete to see if my laptop could be recovered. It took over 2 weeks and I had to show up randomly at their store to tell them I just wanted my laptop back. The diagnostic still wasn't completed. 4) Sally said it took longer to see if they could find my files, but a) all I ordered was a diagnostic to see if it could be done. Not for them to start the recovery process which would have cost me an extra $400. b) even if it took longer I would have expected a call to let me know that it would take more than 4 days but instead I didn't hear from anyone for 2 weeks. Bottom line: I didn't get what I paid for (a diagnostic) and even if there's a good reason for why I didn't or that it took 3 times longer than originally quoted, there's was no communication from them or any way to communicate with them to get an update. 1) someone should be at the store during open hours 2) a working phone number and way to contact should be in place 3) if work scope changes or issues arise there should be prompt communication with the customer to explain and allow the customer to determine what they'd like to do. None of these happened. Upon leaving this store I told Sally I'd be leaving negative reviews on google. She then said there were things they could do to make things right, but I think if they were truly interested in treating customers well they would have discussed that before being under the threat of a negative review. At that point I was no longer interested in any kind of refund. I thought it was more important for me to leave this review for other customers to be warned about working with this business. Would 100% NOT recommend this business. Walked in for an issue with a piece of an old charger stuck in the charging port of the phone. Was quoted $149 initially. After my expression of sticker shock I was asked how much I was expecting to pay. Then was quoted two other prices $89 then $49. I got a bad feeling of shady business. Went to another repair shop and walked out within 3 min without spending a dime and WITH a repaired phone! Go to CPR cell repair in Uptown. They will take better care of you! read more

I dropped my computer off for a battery issue. She charged me $75 for "diagnostic assessment" even though it was obvious I needed a new battery. She said she would let me know in two days. Two days later I called. She told me to text her my name and name of my computer. So I did that. Never heard back. Then I called and she said she was with a customer and she would call me back. Never heard back. By Friday I called again and got her. She said she still hadn't looked at it and wanted a few more days. I stated I would be in the store at 1 to pick up the computer and get my money back. When I got there she wasn't there and the guy in the store had me call her. She didn't answer when I left my name first time but when the other tech called, she answered. She then the spoke agile and then she asked to speak to me. She claimed she confused me with someone else and I needed a new battery that would be $300 and it was on order. I said no, I never talked to you about what it needed and I want my computer. Finally got my Mac back but not my money . I'm finding a new tech store. read more

I would not bring my Macbook for repair here again. Both my speakers on my 2015 MacBook Pro needed replacement. I had researched that the approximate cost for repair would be $300 - $450, I was charged $350 for the repair. Took a few days for parts to arrive, but once I brought it home I noticed that the speakers had static, rattled, sounded distant and were altogether not working well. On top of that, my laptop started having battery issues after the repair, it was shutting off in the middle of me working on projects, it had never done this before the repairs. I texted her about the issues, since this had been the method of communication during the repair, and I got no response initially. Texted again a couple of days later and got a response. She apologized for the issues and said I could bring it in at a specific time, I wasn't available at that time and texted if I could bring it in at a different time. No response. All in all, she was friendly during the "sale" part but now there is zero interest in ensuring that the repairs were done properly and any issues that were caused due to her repairs are resolved. Would not recommend. For this price, you can find a better Mac repair shop that actually cares. Don't come here. Will be reporting this establishment. read more

This was place wasn't caring for their customers. I had a cracked screen and they said they'd still charge me for a diagnostic test... screen is obviously cracked.. they wouldn't have the parts so it'd take a while. I told them Apple said this shouldn't be hard to repair and they pretty much told me to go somewhere else then. I took it to another tech place and they did it so quickly and easily, hassle free. I don't recommend this place.. at least for my computer issue. read more
