This place is cool, I went in cause my iPhone headphone jack and power plug were not working. He quoted me 75$ to replace it and that would take an hour and 15 minutes. I went back after 1 hour and it was ready. He said it didn't have to be replaced and it was just too dirty. It now works great and it only cost 25$ instead of 75$. Brand new phone and i dropped it, shattered asf, broken asf. Bring it to techloop and the guy there says it will be ready in 30 minutes, which is way shorter than I thought it would take. I've had past screen repair appointments that took a day or two, this one I would literally walk down the street, grab a drink, come back, and it would be done. I came back and it was finished, I inspected the phone but the screen was sitting up too high off of the phone so I asked him to inspect it. He said he could take dust and glue out, and it was because the phone had previously also had a screen replacement which was true. He took it back, took the whole thing apart, meticulously cleaned it, and it was in perfect condition. Highly recommend this place. Drop your stuff off during lunch or dinner time so by the time you come back it will be ready. Super nice staff too. Asked a random question about a taken-apart iMac that I saw on the desk out of curiosity and he elaborately answered it. After a quick conversation I left satisfied. The guy who runs this shop is fantastic. He diagnosed my problem in literally 5 seconds. He had a spare part on hand that was newer and better quality than the broken part and had it changed out in no time. He even cleaned the desktop for no charge. He also tested it properly in front of me to make sure it was behaving before he sent me on my way unlike most places. I usually dread taking computers to get fixed because it's almost guaranteed they will overcharge you and take forever; this place is different. After all was said and done, he only charged me for the part. I looked the part up later online and it was more expensive online than what he charged me! I really recommend Techworld Trading! Even if you don't live in Menlo Park, it's worth the drive to save you time and money. I've worked with Ahmet twice and he's great. The first time I came in with a problem video card (which he could tell was the problem immediately). He swapped it out for a better one he had on hand and only charged me for the part. When I got home I realized that this particular type of card needed more cooling than the original, so the fan was louder than I was used to and annoyed me. I went back into the shop to see if Ahmet had a fan-less card that he could sell me. He didn't have one on hand, but he ordered me a new one and didn't even charge me for the new part! He just swapped out the card I'd bought earlier and didn't charge me for labor AGAIN! Who does that?! While I was in the shop a man came in asking for an external DVD drive for his Mac. Ahmet suggested one but the gentleman was concerned the DVD drive's box didn't mention Macs, so Ahmet just ripped open the box and let the guy try it on one of the Macs in the store to make sure the guy would be happy with his purchase. I have been here twice first to purchase a mac book which I love dearly, and recently to purchase something else and trade in a piece of equipment. They are honest and give you fair market value. I use Yelp on the regular but I don't write reviews, however, I just had to share this because I'm really pissed I got played. I came here hoping to get my MacBook Pro fixed from water damage. I didn't have high hopes but I thought I'd give it a try and especially with their policy where they don't charge you until after it's all fixed and can be turned on. I think the person that helped me was Jose, he was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Long story short, they were unable to fix it 100% so I picked it back up free of charge, albeit all the contact info I left on their record... Jose even showed me that I can use my MBP via link to a different computer/monitor, better than nothing but a laptop is not used for that purpose. They seemed legit but oh was I wrong... I left the store with my MBP and headed for TecnoUNO on Main St. I did not mention this to Techworld. It makes sense if one place doesn't fix it, I'll try another. I gave TecnoUNO my MBP last week then got a call today asking for Mr. Lee and that he's from TecnoUNO and that my computer is ready for pickup. I said great, I'll come pick it up today. I was all excited to go pick up my laptop (the netbook I've been is so so SO slow... anyways). I just went in and they said my computer is not ready and they haven't called me today. We looked at my recent calls on my phone showing the CALLER ID NUMBER. We Google'd it on the spot and guess whose phone number that is? Techworld. Really guys? Unfortunately that's not the experience I had. I came in looking for a desktop computer with a fairly specific set of requirements. The tech that I spoke to felt the need to argue with me about literally every thing I said. Then told me that it would cost more money to get the computer I was asking for (understandably) and they would have to order the parts and that would take longer (also, understandable). Normally that would be fine but he really didn't seem to want to do it. His apathy talked me out of it and I left. No thanks. I'll find my computer somewhere else. I was sick of looking at my cracked iPhone screen so decided to go on the hunt to find a local shop who could replace the screen on my iPhone 6. Most places quoted about the same price and wait time ranged from 1-1.5 hours. Art was friendly, professional and super fast - took him about 20 minutes to replace my screen. He also brought me out a chair with a back so that I could wait (9 months pregnant) comfortably and he cleaned both my phone and case afterwards. I'm a corporate work from home user in Redwood City, and my company's disk encryption software hosed my box. My closest tech support in San Jose said I would lose two days to de-encrypt and reinstall an image. I said forget it (although I probably should have taken two days off!). I bought a used and my first iMac here on 2016. The only thing I did not check is the cd/dvd drive coz it is not working. The owner told to me to just bring it back and he will fix it or if not fixable just get another one you like for the same price. But I did not have time to have it fix and plus I'm not using the cd/dvd. All in all, the service is good and I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm still using it until now. Had a screen replaced on March 30, screen flickered a bit, but it is always a pain to take things back so put up with it. Then the screen failed completely. Tried to take it back to their Redwood City store, but that store appears closed and its voicemail box is full. Took the phone to the Menlo Park store. Upon looking at the screen, the tech said. This phone has been dropped. I pointed out that there is no sign of physical damage, and the phone hasn't been dropped to my knowledge. The tech then rudely said that it was probably dropped on the carpet. And then offered a 25% discount on repairs. Rather than be ripped off twice, I took my phone elsewhere. Of course they said it was a faulty component. Suffice to say, will not go back, and will warn people off when I can. read more

My mid-2012 Mac Pro laptop was suddenly slow as molasses.. Every time I went to change a font size or color, i'd get the spinning wheel of death for 4 or 5 seconds before it changed. Videos would play for 3 seconds then pause for 3 seconds then play again. I visited the Apple Genius Bar in Palo Alto and they suggested increasing memory from 4GB to 8 or 16GB, which I did, but that didn't fix the issue. Thus, I called Apple support and after going up 4 levels from entry-level support to head of support (over 3 hours), they told me they were 90% sure the SATA bus to the hard drive was malfunctioning. Not dead (and thus things still worked) but several of the "bus lanes" were faulty and thus the slow down on my system. I could buy a new bus cable for about $45 and figure out how to install it myself, or bring it into a repair shop. I took my laptop it into Techworld and told them the story. I was delighted they had opened a place in nearby downtown in MP. Easy to find and get to and quite friendly. They accepted Apple's prognosis and replaced the SATA cable by the next day. I returned and tested the repair and all was well. Fonts were changing color in milliseconds and videos were playing seamlessly. Total cost was $99. I'm back up and running now and quite happy. A friend had recommended them to me and thought I'd give them a try since I just dropped my iPad and cracked the screen!! :(( Nolan was professional, timely and really helpful. I have a screen protector for my iPhone 6 that was chipped in one of the corners from dropping it and asked if they could replace that as well. I do have insurance through Sprint but I would have needed to take the cover off, send it in to them and then they send a new one. The convenience was worth the $14.99 They are no longer located on Oak Grove Avenue but on Santa Cruz Ave a couple doors down from Ace Hardware.
