After dropping my iPhone and cracking the LCD screen, I found Richard of Tech Stop on Yelp, after speaking with a few other vendors. Even though it was almost 6pm, he urged me to come by anyway. Richard took apart my phone and troubleshooted it with obvious expertise, patiently explaining what he was doing, and absolutely went above and beyond the call of duty to fix my phone back to perfect working order. I would recommend Tech Stop to my family and friends without hesitation, and will definitely bring any of my electronics to them for repair or upgrades in the future. I have an Iphone 4S and I called around several places to get quotes on repairing my screen. By the time I got off the phone I was so discouraged that I just decided to deal with my broken phone. I mean- It still worked, right? After about 2 weeks with my screen cracked I was getting pretty impatient. A friend of mine told me to call Tech Stop because she had some work done on her phone and was extremely pleased with the quality of work for the price she paid. I called Tech Stop to get a quote and possibly make an appointment. When I was given the quote it was $30-40 less than any other quote I had received 2 weeks prior. They told me to come on in whenever was a good time for me. The next day after work I showed up and I was greeted with smiiles and a sense of welcome! I had to run and do a few errands and they told me that it was no problem, I could wait there or I could come back when I was finished. When I returned I forgot to go to the bank and get cash. "No worries" they said. "We take all major credit cards too!" What a relief!!! My iPhone looked brand new when I picked it up. Everything was fuctionable again. I bought a groupon to fix my cracked screen on my iPhone 4. I had a lot of trouble getting an appointment in the first place, it took over 3 weeks because they kept saying they didn't have the right parts. They never took my name down to call me when the parts came in they just told me to call back in a few days, so I did even though it was a hassle... I really just wanted to get my phone fixed! So finally I was able to make an appointment only for them to call me the day before and have to reschedule due to the shipment being faulty! Which is annoying but fine, like I said I just wanted to get my phone fixed! When I finally do get to take my phone in the process was relatively fast and pretty convenient. I went and dropped the phone off on my lunch break and picked it up before going back to work! At the time I was pleased to get my phone repaired and back to work all in an hours time. Every thing looked great and worked fine for a little while. After about a month went by I noticed things going wrong with my phone, such as one of the sensors not working properly, when I am on the phone it constantly mutes my call so the other party cannot hear me! My phone never used to do that prior to having it fixed. Now my screen is not responding to touch in the lower region altogether! I basically can use my phone with extremely limited function! :-/ They must use very cheap parts because now my phone is practically useless! I'm hoping they will fix it for me, but I'm anticipating having some trouble or them asking me to pay, if that turns out to be the case the groupon will pretty much be useless! My phone actually worked better before I took it here to be repaired, even with the cracked screen! I should have went straight to Apple and looking back I would have because now it's probably going to be cheaper just to buy a new phone! If they were to fix my phone hassle free I'd give them another star or two for their willingness to make good on their work. Hopefully that will be the case, you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to take the risk and save a little money or go to Apple where it's a guaranteed fix! read more

This place was pretty unprofessional but they had low priced promo deals and eventually did repair my cracked iPhone screen, although they used poor quality replacement parts. Here's the detailed story: I needed my iPhone screen repaired and, fortunately, my wife found a Groupon for Tech Stop offering 50% off. I called and made an appointment, but when I drove 30 mins to get there for my scheduled appt., they said they didn't get their screen shipment in from China, and they had "lost my number" so they could not notify me. Grrrr. Ok, I'm a laid back guy, no biggie, lets reschedule. They lost 1 star because they wasted my time, of course. When I am finally able to bring my phone in for the 2nd appointment, I called before leaving to confirm that they did in fact have the screens in stock, and to verify how long it would take. They said they had screens and it shall take 45-60 mins. Great! So I planned my outing accordingly to maximize my time. I get there and the girl was clearly not trained to deal with people (she was raised by wildebeests or so it seemed by her lack of knowledge of the most basic, obvious customer service skills). Anyway... Minus another star for untrained employees. She now informs me that it would take "60 minutes, 75 at the latest." Okay? Actually, I expected something like that to happen and planned for it anyway so no big deal. I left and returned 90 minutes later to allow more than enough time to finish. Smart, right? No, they are still not done. I waited around for an additional 30 minutes before she finally gave my phone back. They just lost another star. But no more cracked screen-- I am happy to have my phone back! Oh but wait-- sadly, there were a few issues. The new screen is a different color, grey instead of black, which only really matters outside, in bright sunlight, it's much harder to see the screen. Also the new screen they put in drains the battery life EXTREMELY Fast. It's crazy. I think they must use super cheap, low quality replacement parts. Oh, and last but not least, I got it home and was cleaning my screen, but there were these stubborn fingerprints on the glass would NOT come off! I scrubbed and scrubbed. Finally I realize-- they are UNDER the glass screen! She didn't remove her prints or wear gloves before installing the replacement screen. Face-palm. Seriously? Minus another star. So the 2 star rating is for the super low price (otherwise they would only get 1 star). read more

This place sucks, I feel like I got burned here. I got my screen repaired and not even 20 min later it was cracked because they did a bad job. The screen was pealing off and I was very frustrated. I took it back right away and the guy tried charging me an extra 25 bucks to replace the screen. I told him what happend and after giving me shit he finally changed the screen, the next day! I was really dissatisfied with there service I won't ever go back to this place.. I went to Bryan's iPhone Service on Blackstone and Minarets and they cleaned up these guys mess... So I wouldn't say this is the best place since they do falsify the authenticity of their parts but its not the worst either. I'd recommend going to ifixit.com and buying parts that you're sure will be good or just spending money to replace it at the apple store (they switch it out for a brand new one for about 150) if you plan on using the phone for a while. I came here and got my screen fixed only because they had a deal on groupon which I paid 45 dollars for (groupon gave me 15 dollars off a purchase - it was actually 60 before). It didn't take that long (around 30 minutes). However, leading up to the repair was a bit of a hassle. They were always out of parts when I would try to get it fixed (twice). When they did have the parts on the third try they only had two or three available for the day so I was told to come in early. They repeatedly claimed that this screen is the exact same as the original too; I'd have to disagree. The screen has an almost bluish tint to it, definitely not as bright as the original when comparing side by side on full brightness. This can be difficult in situations like direct sunlight as a reviewer mentioned below. You can also tell its not original by two small, slightly purple sensor boxes above the front facing camera/speaker (only seen in direct sunlight) compared to the normal black oval sensor. The sensor doesn't work either (at least not with a screen protector over it) as it normally did with my old, original, screen so I find myself hitting the mute/dial buttons when on the phone which can get really annoying. (Usually the sensor causes the screen to black out when covered so you don't hit random buttons with your face when you're talking). It isn't cracked anymore though, so it'll do until I upgrade in a few months. Not the friendliest or most professional staff but they weren't rude. I'm not sure who helped me though so perhaps the person mentioned below would be the best to go to. Would have preferred for them to fix it in front of me/show me what was going on as the guy did below. Overall, it's okay if you can get a deal, probably not worth it full price. read more
