After a certain *someone* stepped on my laptop and broke the screen, I was broke, computerless, and afraid I'd have to buy a whole new machine. The Apple Store told me it would be $800 to fix. A family friend told me about TechRestore, and it was one of the best customer-service experiences of my tech life. You place your repair order online and print out a shipping label. Box up the computer, ship to them them, they fix it and overnight it back the same day. For $200 I had my beloved MacBook back in my grimy little paws in 3 days. And that's because I cheaped out and sent it 2nd day air. My husband warned me that in past when he's sent machines off for repair (at other vendors), even if the problem was not hard-drive related (screen repair, new keyboard, etc.), they've come back with their memory wiped, or other issues. I sent my 13" Macbook with a cracked LCD screen to TechRestore and they did a great job. I ordered online and self-shipped via FedEx. The computer was repaired the same day it was received and shipped that afternoon. The replaced screen looks exactly like the original Apple screen and performs exactly as expected. TechRestore emailed me with status of the repair and shipping notification. They even cleaned the keyboard and exterior of the computer. I took my iMac that hadn't been working for a couple years to TechRestore to take a look. We paid the deposit in which we were informed would be reimbursed if we went through with the repair. They diagnosed the problem and proceeded with the fix. Upon pick up and payment, the initial deposit was not refunded. Strike #1. When I took the computer home to turn it on, it wouldn't load to turn on. Strike #2. I took it back to TechRestore and they told me it was a hard drive issue so they wiped the hard drive clean and restored it. I took it home and it worked one time and hasn't worked again since. Strike 3. I think this company is a total scam and is ripping people off right and left. read more

I signed up for Yelp just to write this review. These guys are life savers. I dropped my macbook, the screen was totaled. I was screwed, it's my life on that computer. I was a little hesitant about the method of getting my laptop to them, you put in your credit card information then have a couple of options, I chose to send in my laptop on my own. This was a little strange to me and I was hesitant so I called the customer service a couple times and emailed them and each time got a great fast response which put me at ease. I sent it out there, it arrived at around 2 o clock, by 4:30 it was finished and had already been shipped out the same day! The package just arrived 2 days after they fixed it, showed up, in a bright yellow package which let the people carrying it know it was precious cargo. I opened it up, my laptop looked as comfortable as it ever had been with all the packing precautions and wasn't moving anywhere on transit. There was even an awesome little ninja action figure they sent me too! Fired up the laptop and I'm writing this review on it right now. Amazing experience, by FAR the cheapest quote I received. I dropped my iPhone 3 one too many times, and ta-da, the screen broke. I live nearby, so I brought my phone into TechRestore, where they told me they could fix it in a day for $80, or in an hour for $100, which was much better than the $250 the Apple Store wanted. Since there are no reviews for iPad 2 repairs, I wanted to add this review. Dropped my iPad and the glass shattered. Apple said it would cost half the cost of a new iPad to repair my iPad so I might as well buy a new one. Well I love the one I have and it isn't even a year old! Ran into a friend while in the Apple store who suggested finding a repair place on the web, so we did it while in the store. Checked out Yelp reviews and decided on TechRestore. Not cheap but in line with other glass repairs for iPads. TechRestore did a beautiful job - looks brand new. They even fixed the dent in the aluminum body and were willing to have the repair completed earlier than promised, which I greatly appreciated. I only wish they could have put Gorilla glass made by Corning but this was not an option. Overall I am very happy with the result and highly recommend TechRestore. read more

I recently dropped off my IPad for a glass screen replacement and service was awesome. I opted to have it mailed to me after the repair was completed. I got a phone call about 3 hours later to let me know the repair was completed. I advised them to go ahead and mail it and to my great surprise I received it the very next day! I've been to TechRestore a few times over the years. My experience is always the same, which is great. They return calls promptly, are helpful when you check in and always honest. I brought my 7th gen ipod touch nano to these guys because something was broken off inside the headphone jack I couldn't get out. I ask if they could install a new head phone jack. The woman at the desk said they "don't do that" because it's "too new" and the "insides are too flimsy" despite the fact that I just watched a video that shows how to do this and the parts are on sale online, guess they don't want my money. wish I could get my time back! read more

My Macpro was near death. 1/3 of the screen was black. I didn't want to buy a new Mac because they don't have the features that this model has. My son is very picky and very technical. I sent them a water damaged iphone 3GS. They call the next day after receiving it and said the 'board' needed to be replaced and they didn't do that. They did offer to 'recycle' the iphone for free. Which means they would get my iphone for free parts and I'd be out an iphone. So keep in mind they have limited ability to fix an iphone and may try and get it from you for nothing. read more
