The best keto ice cream I've ever had. I highly recommend. I'm not sure how they get it so creamy, but it is by far the best.

On a recent business trip to Omaha, the wife and I got in a few hrs early before our conference started so we decided to explore the old market area of downtown Omaha. After a bite to eat at Planks, we went across the street for some dessert. All the ice cream is made in small batches the old fashion way. As we were waiting in line we could see them making 2 new flavors that were not available on the board. Overall I thought the quality of ice cream was very good and would definitely stop by again the next time were in town. read more

Look, the ice cream seems decent here - if you get what you order. We went and I asked the young man what their most popular flavor is. He said Blackberry. So I ordered Blackberry...and somehow ended up with peanut butter . Good thing I don't have a peanut allergy. The peppermint that my husband got was good though. Mine went right in the trash can across the street. read more

Good ice cream joint in downtown omaha. Flavors are on point and seem to be rotating. Consistency was a bit soft on 1 of my ice creams and made it hard to eat. Prices are off...wanted 1 scoop for 3 people but it was so much cheaper to get a 3 scoop dish and split it...kind of annoying read more

We travel to the area annually and always make a stop in. The ice cream shop is always packed with a massive line. It is a nice way to end off a night. read more

Don't let the 3 stars keep you from coming! No, it's not fine dining. But the food is delicious, the atmosphere is awesome, and the service is top notch. Maybe you'll be lucky and have Alice as your waitress. Also, very affordable. We loved it! read more

Ted and Wally's - Exterior, super cute - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Ted and Wallys is the best ice cream in Omaha, hands down, no arguments. The quality and strength of the flavors is far superior to everything else, and their creativity is unparallelled. I've tried black seasame, apple pie, key lime pie, cheese and crackers, pb&j, just to list a few. They're always good, and its always a good portion of ice cream for what you're paying. Its so good! Beware, the lines get long but the wait is 100% always worth it. Anyone who has a bad review of this place is probably very sad and thinks vanilla is the best ice cream flavor. It was started by a brother and sister and they really keep their business local, using local and fresh cream and milk as well as fruits and other ingredients for their mix ins. They are an Omaha focused business, and they are creative and quirky. There is something for everyone here! read more

Based on the yelp reviews and the long line out the door, I thought that this place had the most unbeatable and unique ice cream. But, I was sadly disappointed. While they did have one unique cheese flavor, every other flavor on the menu was quite standard. When I go to ice cream places, I like to try flavors that I cannot pick up at the grocery store. Also, the quality of the ice cream was no better than many of the other ice cream shops I have been to. One thing I did like about the place was that you could watch how the ice cream was being made. All the kids seemed super fascinated by the whole process. read more

Ted and Wally's - Peanut butter and toffee ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Super smooth ice cream. Apple crisp flavor was unique and delicious. Cool "old time" feeling in the store too.

I mean, the ice cream is good but it's nothing to phone home about. I think it's more of a novelty spot that people just go to. I'm not not recommending it, just saying limit expectations. read more

Deeeeelicious! A must stop when in Old Market! Highly suggest the hot fudge brownie sundae.

I'll be craving this for a long time! It was SO good! Very flavorful and the texture was perfect! My family has been making homemade ice cream for years, so I know how hard it can be to nail the perfect texture and flavor. This place did a fantastic job! I'm mad at myself for not bringing any home. Definitely make a stop here! read more

Ted and Wally's has some of the best ice cream I've ever eaten. They have a great selection of classic flavors and interesting flavors which they rotate on a daily basis (I always love all of their rose flavors and peanut butter and jelly). You can always check their facebook or instagram to see daily flavors in each location. They source a lot of their ingredients from local farms which is an added bonus! Also, they always have anywhere from 2-5 'special diet' flavors in each of their locations (vegan, keto, low sugar, etc.) They use coconut milk in their vegan flavors, and even before I was vegan, I preferred their vegan ice cream to their regular ice cream. The texture and temperature is always perfect and the staff is always happy to give you a sample of any flavor. Also, if you have a favorite flavor that you haven't seen available for awhile, you can special order it in larger sizes! I've done this once before, and while it was expensive, it was so worth it! They have a few tables and a few booths inside with extremely limited parking, and on nice evenings, it is not rare for there to be a line out the door for ice cream. The ice cream is always well worth the wait! read more

Awesome spot. Ted and Wally's is THE place for ice cream. And golly I'm so glad it's an ice cream place. Forget about the / frozen yogurt / gelato / soft-serve / icee / sorbet craze that distracts ice cream cones these days. Bring back ice cream to the world! They do a great job here managing long lines. You still get to sample anything you want. And it tastes great! We went with the berry flavor and signature chocolate butterfly flavor. Soo good!! I love that they have vegan options and a an ice cream flavor menu that changes daily. It's also awesome sauce that they boldly let you know they serve up ingredients all local local local. read more

Huge disappointment here. Everyone has told me I HAVE to come to this place for like the last 12 years. Well After living in Omaha for 4 years I finally decided to come here. I am hugely let down. For starters I didn't get the line everyone else was talking about. My husband and I walked in around 3:30pm? on a weekday, not a person in sight. Honestly we weren't even sure they were open. Walking in, yeah the decor is weird and cute but it had a strange smell, almost musky. I don't know what the deal was. The 1 dude working seemed less than happy to stop reading his phone and then seemed more irritated when we told him we hadn't been there before. Oh lord you might have to actually work. The flavors they offered were unoriginal to say the least and not great. Then I asked if he was allowed to tell me what they put into their ice cream. He said "maybe, which one do you want to know" and I asked if they put strange things in their ice cream like corn syrup and other artificial sweeteners. He at first acted like I had arrived off planet Mars and seemed aghast anyone would ask this. Then he responded with "all ice cream has corn syrup in it'. -_- really? Actually dude NO real ice cream uses sugar, and for the amount of money you want to charge me for your lack luster ice cream you could at least use "the good stuff". We politely said thanks but never mind. As we're walking out he muttered "what the f--- ever". Needless to say I won't be returning. read more

This location is amazing! Staff was quick and very nice, music was 10/10!! Would definitely come back

This place looks pretty unassuming from the outside and inside is huge. There are several booths where you can sit with a group or tables to sit and chat. The workers were really patient, offering their advice and allowing you to sample several flavors. I decided on a flavour containing coconut shreds, chocolate and vanilla icecream. It was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of it.. "Johnny something " I just chose the weirdest name I saw. It tasted like a coconut ice cream with coconut shreds and chocolate. If you don't like coconut shreds this probably isn't a good choice for you. But there are also chunks of chocolate mixed in. Overall a really good icecream that hits the spot. The ice cream itself was creamy and not too sweet. Really delicious. I'd go back for a pint. read more

Wow and yum. If you feel like indulging in some old school fatty, sugary ice cream (you know the good stuff) in some classic as well as creative flavors-- go here! Gets busy around 8pm in the summer, but the line moved fast-- and it's totally worth that 10-15 min wait. Also something that has always intrigued me but I have yet to try: coffee or a cappuccino floats. As a coffee lover, this sounds damn awesome if I'm about to start a long night out down in old market read more

Guinness ice cream. Amazing. Coffee flavor, mixed with the sweet cream. Awesome. I asked them about it there at the store, five bottles per batch. Tons of flavor! Not to mention all of their other flavors, new menu every week? Yeah, tourists, you have to stop here. Anyone living in the metro area who hasn't had their ice cream, step away from their neighbors, Maggie Moo's is no where close. No way. read more

We were in need of coffee for the road and this place is next-door to Iron Decor and More (see my separate review). The interior is cute and it's *very* popular, plus they have lots of delicious-sounding flavors of ice cream. We got a caramel latte and an English toffee latte - but if we'd known beforehand that the lids are the type you'd use for a soda, we never would have bought the coffee. The lids were incredibly unsafe and nearly impossible to use when driving & attempting to drink a hot beverage. Even when whichever one of us wasn't driving attempted to drink our coffee, it was nearly impossible. Plus, the coffee wasn't even good (it tasted really watered-down). We finally ended up throwing them away (not only a total waste of money, but we didn't come across any other places where we could get coffee). The only reason why I'm giving three stars instead of two, is because the young woman who made the coffee was really sweet and friendly. read more

Since the first time I tried this Old School Ice Cream shop I have always loved it. I love that when you walk in you feel like you've gone through time...until you read the clever written signs that shout 21st century employees, which is a delight. Over the years Ted & Wally's has stayed the same on the outside as well on the inside. The flavors change daily but the taste is consistent. Creamy, delicious, and full of goodness. The staff here are pretty friendly and do their best to serve you as quickly as they can especially when there is a long line. If there is any way for you to visit Ted & Wally's during their slow times, I would suggest doing that. It gets a bit chaotic when you're ready to pay. A normal experience, but just a heads up there. They are also pretty darn generous when scooping your bowl/cone/waffle cone for you as well, so remember to thank them with a smile. My very favorite combination here is Dutch Chocolate and Cappuccino. There's a distinct taste for both of these and I enjoy them mixed together. I have yet to try any other flavors mainly because when I find something good, I stick with it. So if any of my friends want to make a trip out to Ted & Wally's with me, please choose another flavor so I can try a spoonful of yours. Or...perhaps I will go on a very non busy day and try all the flavors! If you like old fashioned ice cream, this is the place to go in Old Market Omaha! read more

Ted and Wally's - Salty Seahorse - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Honestly the guy with the dark hair always in a man bun has a nasty attitude, and shouldn't work on busy nights, (like July 4th) He gave me a snotty, not-quite-eyeroll when I didn't ask for a scoop of the 1 ice cream I just tried (teaberry), and then didn't ask if I wanted a cup or a cone like they have all the other 800 times I've come here, and just threw it in a cup. A cone is half the fun and he didn't even give me the option. As soon as I asked for a scoop of the sea salt, he ran away and put it in a cup and I didn't see him again until he handed the cup to me, and since it was busy I didn't protest. Then stared me down for a tip. I gave him $0.92 on the machine. AND the ice cream he gave me was melty af. Put him in the back. read more

Way back in the early 2000's I played my first of what would be many concerts in Omaha! Now you may ask where did you play, was it Sokol Underground or maybe O'Leaver's or was it a basement show? Nope it was at Ted and Wally's Ice Cream shop! After hours they shut the place down, turned off the Ice Cream maker and pulled out the PBR's and had a rock n roll show! It was a blast! And this place has always had a special place in my heart because of it! So I was very excited to show this place off the Ashley while we were in Omaha last weekend! She loves Ice Cream and I knew she would dig Ted and Wally's! Now it was hot out, hitting the low 90's and we went on a Saturday so the line was pretty epic! In fact it was out the door, but it moved fast and the Air was pumping inside so, once we got in, it was smooth sailing! I loved watching the old school Ice Cream maker spin on ice while standing in line, and while standing in line I notice, YES they have VEGAN ICE CREAM TODAY! When we finally get to the counter to order Ashley get's some Peach thing and I order the Vegan Kettle Corn Ice Cream, I was so lucky cause there was only one scoop left! It was easily the best Vegan Ice Cream I have ever had, it actually combined my two fave foods, Ice Cream and Pop Corn! We sat in booth and enjoyed our Ice Cream and I talked about the fun shows I had played here! I wonder if they still have shows in the late after hours? Either way this place will always be fond in my heart, for the rock and for the Ice Cream! read more

It was a warm day and I was looking for something cold and refreshing. A quick search on my handy dandy Yelp app revealed Ted and Wally's Ice Cream was nearby. Ted and Wally's is a quaint ice cream shop that makes all of its delicious wares on premises the old school homemade way with a big bucket filled with ice, rock salt and a tub of flavored cream being churned into ice cream. They offer plenty of flavors to choose from ranging from the standards to the more interesting. I imagine their menu changes frequently. I had a taste for cinnamon, so I had a scoop of their cinnamon ice cream. It wasn't the cheapest or the biggest scoop for the price, but it was certainly tasty. I don't have ice cream very often, but Ted and Wally's served up the best ice cream that I've had in a very, very long time. Ice cream: 5 stars Price/value: 3 stars Overall: 4 stars read more

During our road trip to Omaha, we stopped by Ted and Wally's per suggestion of a local. The quality of the ice cream was very rich and extremely thick. So thick that a spoon could barely scoop out a bite. We tried four different flavors and the Apple Pie was our favorite one.
