I cannot say enough about Ted D Bare, and just how wonderful they are! I decided that it was finally time for it, and booked my first ever brazilian with them. Now, I'm a super shy girl and was so anxious about just having all my business out in the air... literally. But I did it! And I fully understand the hype about Ted D Bare. The location itself is in a nice and quiet area. The lobby immediately made me feel so much more relaxed because it felt like I was stepping into someone's home - there was music playing, plenty of laughter/chatting echoing throughout the place, and comfy couches to sit on. If it's your first time, there's a quick intake form you fill out on an iPad, and you just chill in the waiting room until your esthetician comes to grab you. The decoration around the place was also super fun and lively, which contributed to the welcoming nature of the place. My esthetician was Mya and she is so wonderful!!!!! When I mentioned that it was my first time getting a Brazilian, she immediately hyped me up and made me feel so confident in my decision. She was so good at explaining everything, and I felt extremely safe and comfortable around her throughout the appointment. I was worried that I was going to do something embarrassing or be awkward, but Mya just made me feel like... a normal person just doing some regular self-care. She did an amazing job of hyping me up to build confidence, but also keeping things chill enough to where I could relax and not overthink too much. I really respect her level of skill and understanding, especially in such a vulnerable kind of situation. The brazilian itself was not as painful as I expected, but I really chalk that up to Mya's skill and ability to make you feel comfortable. She distracts you when you need to be distracted, and lets you take deep breaths when you need to. That being said, don't expect a pain-free experience. Do expect a lot of laughing through the pain, because Mya kept making me laugh and smile while we chit-chatted. It really felt like talking to a friend and I loved getting to know her too - She's such a lovely and kind soul :) The entire appointment was super quick - I was in and out of the building within 30 minutes. I also ended up getting the Agent 88 Spray from the vending machine in the lobby. That spray really does do wonders - I've been using it on my post-wax arms and legs too, and this is the first time that I have not had dozens of ingrown hairs. I also have pretty sensitive skin, and have not had any negative reaction to the waxing itself or the Agent88 spray. Overall, I am so happy I decided to move forward with booking with Ted D Bare and with Mya! I feel so confident in myself, physically and emotionally. The pricing is super reasonable, and the no-tip policy does help curb that end-of-appointment awkwardness when choosing a % to tip. I also just felt more comfortable knowing that the business values their employees enough and ensures they don't have to depend on tips, which I think speaks volumes about the supportive environment at Ted D Bare. I am definitely going to become a regular here, and I encourage all my other shy (or not-so-shy) girlies to go to Ted D Bare if you want a safe, comfortable, and empowering experience :) read more

Been going here for 10+ years. You literally cannot find a better waxing studio. Really down to earth waxers that are funny and keep you distracted while they extract pain . Btw while a wax is always painful, it's as painless as possible when going here. I REFUSE to go anywhere else now because no one compares. This is my go-to waxing place!! They are cash only with a credit card deposit when u first book of $25 currently. Inflation has affected most businesses so prices have gone up since i've first discovered it 2 yrs ago but i think still competitively priced with other waxing places. I used to only like hard wax but this place does a great job with soft wax. Their technique keeps it as painless as possible the trick is to RELAX. Some technicians do a better job than others, recently i've had some hairs left on tummy and Brazilian area which has been rare but maybe new trainees? So u kind of need to check and they will prob fix it, need to let them know right after or else hard to get refund. They do their best to make their customers happy. I've been coming to Ted D Bare for yearssssss now and only have AMAZING things to say. I've been waxed by almost every gal there and you couldn't go wrong with anyone! My esthie bestie is Rika! I swear you can create a bond with any of these girls! I mainly only get Brazilians and once and an awhile mix in an under arm wax too, my results are always amazing and last for so so long. The work spaces are always so clean and organized and the rest of the place is so esthetically beautiful. They have products for you to purchase in house too if you ever are in need of anything on the spot! The location in San Jose is super convenient and easy and I've never had any issues with parking and I'm always in and out in 10-15 mins tops unless I can't stop yapping.
