Ted E Barre look pretty solid.The day before, I was nervous, I almost cancelled. But I knew I needed to do it. Checking in is super easy, there is a tablet and a really nice waiting room. I got started right on time. My esthetician was Miya. She is awesome. I've never felt so vulnerable yet so at peace and like I was having a conversation with a friend the entire time. She also knows skin and gave me some recommendations. A day after, I couldn't be happier and I will return as long as its Miya. Weird how I've never shown my crevices to my closest buddies but Miya made me feel at peace and damn, I love the results. If you are looking for a place to get your regular waxing done professionally, you are at the right place. Shout out to Maya for making the waxing process so easy and fun. There's no way to avoid the pain that a single bikini wax can cause, but at least I know I'm in good hands. Decided to come here to get my Brazilian. I usually either go to European wax or Lunchbox wax but I figured I'd try this place out, something new for the new year. I am pretty sporadic when it comes to waxing I don't really plan it. I usually just think about it and make an appointment. This day, I looked online for a same-day appointment but, there was nothing online, but then I texted Pai to see if she had availability. Sure enough she opened up an appointment for me at 7 PM. All appointments are done online and you have to you put a deposit before you can confirm your appointment. That's totally fine. She does not accept any tips. Pai was great she made me feel comfortable. Her studio was beautiful, it was bright and clean. The location is more towards the business areas sort of behind Valleyfair mall. Parking is available on the streets. I think there is also parking in the back but on this day I was able to find parking right out front of the studio. Before the service you have to sign a consent or a waiver form. It was funny you should read it, obviously. There was something that said I will behave appropriately and if not I give my aesthetician the right to rip and tear my shit up. I had to laugh at that. I think I may have found my new regular go to wax spot. Oh and for the men that like to get waxed, this is the place! I've been a client of Jane/Ted D Bare for over a decade. Obviously I am happy with the service if I've been a continuous client for 10+ years. Location is easy to access off of 880/Bascom off ramp and they have plenty of parking. These ladies don't waste time waxing; you can expect to be out of here in about 7-10 minutes. The ladies do not take cash tips; the price of the service is the price of the service but they will happily take coffee cards if you feel the need to give them a little something extra!! read more

I've been coming to this salon for Brazilian since 2019. - the parking lot entrance can be easily missed, slow down when you're approaching the destination. - the online booking system is very convenient. - I notice that my hair doesn't grow as fast. - cash only system is a little inconvenient at first, but I'm very used to it now. Rika is my girl! I am in love with this place! Waxing can be very intimidating and painful! But this place just goes above and beyond! Waxing sucks because she makes it the best experience possible because 1.) it's fast 2.) she will treat you like a homie that hasn't stopped by in awhile and chat you up 3.) it's a no none sense experience.s you're literally here to get your fine China cleaned up. To secure the appointment they asked for a deposit which essentially was the cost of the wax just to ensure I wouldn't be a no call/no show. Not a problem- I respect the hustle and process. I was spending a few days in SJ and searched Yelp to see available waxing places. What caught my eye to Ted D Bare was the punny name and the cool photos I've seen posted on Yelp page. From the photos, this studio looks hip and very clean. It also helped that they were very reputable so I wanted to try for myself. They had a last minute appointment the day of and booking was so easy! You have to pay a credit deposit which was nice because they only accept cash for the rest of the payment and I don't usually carry that much cash. I was seen as soon as I got in. At first I saw a tv hanging and thought that was pretty fancy. The room was clean with extra layers sheets on table. I enjoyed the decoration and wallpaper in the studio. Definitely had a cool vibe. Lol, maybe too cool for me. I'm still a bit new to waxing so I do get anxious. So to help, I have to talk and I had pleasant conversation with my esthetician. Sorry, I didn't get her name! This place is very hipster, CLEAN, and reasonably priced! I was fortunate to have Jane as my esthetician today bc she made the experience simple, fast, and straight to the point. All estheticians have their own techniques of distracting a client from the pain, but Jane made our conversations flow! She's so humorous and lively that she literally makes you feel like ya'll go waaaay back. Although, I was pretty jumpy during the whole process, Jane continued to make me feel comfortable as possible and let me know when she was about to rip those suckers off. I could not recommend this place enough. I usually shave, but was going out of town & needed a wax. They're very centrally located, right next to OConnor Hospital/Santana Row. Ample parking in the back, which was a blessing. I got a late slot (7:45) which was great because it's so hard finding salons open after my work ends. The inside was so cute/aesthetic & incredibly clean. Right on the dot I was taken care of. The inside of each room is decorated beautifully too. Cute music & felt very private. I loved that I could book online. I forgot the name of who was with me but she was incredible & hilarious. Kept me laughing & talking throughout which really helpful for pain. Not sure what wax they use or how talented this gal was but it was the most painless/quick session ever, and she went above and beyond to get any hairs she missed with waxing. This is my personal pro tip but I love to exfoliate/take 2 Tylenol before and that also helped with the pain. They don't take tips (which is wild because their prices are so so reasonable!) And my waxer even walked me to my car since it was dark outside - an absolute sweetheart. I always want to be treated with this level of comfort/professionalism in a waxing environment.
