Whiskey and beer combo, with its own special coaster!
    Jason E.

Teddy's! Teddy's has become a weekly tradition for me and a few friends to meet up for an evening drink, and something I look forward to every week. Teddy's is attached to Fox's Pizza Den -- it's separate, but also the same place if that makes sense, separated only by a hole in the wall. It's nice because you can order food from the Fox's side and sit on the Teddy's side of the house. First, their selection of whiskey, whisky (yes there is a difference between those two), bourbon, and rye is unmatched in the area. They have a little chalkboard behind the bar where they keep a running tally. Last check: 355 whiskies, including 150+ bourbons. It's really incredible! They offer curated tasting flights of multiple bourbons, whiskeys, and Scotches, or single servings of anything, and their standard pour is 2oz. They even have the elusive Pappy Van Winkle, but you'll pay a hefty price for it. For those who prefer something a little softer, they have 12 or so beer taps, featuring Alabama craft brews, along with your standard offerings. They have wine, too. I dock a star because the prices for some are a little high, many Scotch whisky servings are in the $30 range, which is a bit much for a single drink. But, I recognize this is Alabama, and despite some progress in the last decade, the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board still has a stranglehold over the industry. The real highlight of this place is the staff. Darcy is our Thursday bartender and she's great. She remembered us by name from our first visit, and has been super friendly since. This place brings some desperately-needed night life to a beautiful but sleepy downtown Prattville, and the area is better for it!

What a great hidden gem tucked away in the heart of downtown Prattville. Tiffany, one of the Bar Tenders was very knowledgeable and helped us through their plethora of bourbon and specialty drink options. However, if you are not a bourbon guy or gal, no worries, there are some great craft brew options as well. Personally, I really enjoyed the great bourbon, chatting with the locals and singing along with their karaoke crew. Pros tip-if you do decide to take on their bourbon menu and feel a little tipsy, try Fox's Pizza Den which is next door. Fox's Pizza Den actually connects to Teddy's Bourbon Bar and their Stromboli's are absolutely to die for. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't regret it.

If you are looking for professional sports don't go here. If you want the finest selection of bourbon and whiskeys this is the place. Wings are spot on. Service was even better.

The bar staff was very rude and dismissive of us. We waited for 10 minutes without as much as even a greeting so we left.

Most horrible bar experience I think I have ever had. Everything about it was horrible from the drinks to the service.

Bar was nice with 4 large TV's and nice beer and liquor selection. We opted to do the $15 flight. You get 4-1oz pours of select whiskeys. The bowman port barrel was my favorite (smooth and with good taste). The least favorite was knob creek 12 year. Was not near as smooth for a 12 year whiskey (surprised). It will out some hair on your chest! Pretzels were my favorite appetizer. It was hot and salty! Pretzels were served with beer cheese in a cast iron dish (love). The pretzels were soft and buttery. No complaints. I will knock them for this dip trio though. That salsa tasted canned from the store and not a fan of the buffalo chicken dip. Queso dip and tortilla chips were great though! Service was excellent!

After being seated in the bar area, we were informed by our server that only appetizers were available. This was both confusing and disappointing, as it does not align with reasonable expectations for a restaurant still open for regular business. If the kitchen is no longer able or willing to prepare full menu items well before closing, that policy should be clearly communicated--either through adjusted hours or by informing guests upon arrival. Otherwise, it creates the impression of inconsistent operations or a lack of coordination between management and staff. Situations like this suggest a need for clearer operational standards, better communication, and stronger staff alignment with customer service expectations. Guests should not feel discouraged from dining simply because they arrive within what should be standard service hours. Overall, the experience reflects an opportunity for improvement in both management practices and customer hospitality.

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.
