I was terrified of the dentist, and I had A LOT of work to do. Many crowns, fillings, fixing some really crazy teeth, and oral surgery. All this before I can do the "fun stuff" (Invisalign and whitening). Whereas other dentists have made my road so long I have eventually given up, Dr. Terra gently and efficiently led me through a healing process. Within months, I now have new teeth! Yes!! And I was scared, but Dr. Terra referred me to an amazing surgeon; I was able to conquer my fear because I knew that if Dr. Terra trusted them, I could too. Thanks to all this work, I will soon start the fun stuff! And yes, my new teeth (Crowns) are GORGEOUS. Dr. Terra is an artist. He makes the crowns himself and they are incredible (and done so so quickly - no more waiting around with a temp crown for months!). I cannot tell you the difference Smile the Spa has made in my smile, my confidence, and my overall health. I am also on a fitness and health journey and Dr. Terra is always interested, remembers my goals and interests, and asks how I am doing. She immediately began aggressively working under my gums without explaining what she was doing. It was so painful that I finally stopped her and asked, "What are you doing? You haven't explained anything to me?" That experience was upsetting enough that I requested never to be scheduled with her again. Another frustrating experience occurred when I scheduled an appointment online for a teeth cleaning, an exam, and impressions for a night guard. After my cleaning, which was performed by a male fill-in dentist, the receptionist told me that neither Dr. Aguilar nor the fill-in dentist had time to perform my exam because they needed to go to lunch. I explained that I had taken time off work specifically for this appointment, but it made no difference. Her exact response was, "You can't expect them not to eat lunch." While I certainly don't expect anyone to skip lunch, I do expect my appointment to be scheduled appropriately so that the services I booked are actually provided. Since then, I have repeatedly come in for cleanings, including an earlier-than-normal cleaning that I requested and my regular six-month cleaning. In both cases, no exam was performed. At my last cleaning, around 5:30 p.m., I asked why I hadn't been examined. The assistant casually said, "Did you want me to get the dentist?" By that point, it was clear the office was wrapping up for the day, so I declined. Regular exams should not depend on whether a patient remembers to ask for one. To make matters worse, the night guard I received cracked completely after only about three weeks of use. I called at the end of June to report it and was told someone would follow up. Three weeks passed with no response. I called again and was apologized to and promised a call back by the end of the day. Again, nothing. When I called a third time, instead of apologizing and working toward a solution, the office manager, Bianca, argued with me and insisted their notes showed that I had refused my exams. It would've been very simple for the manager to apologize for all of the issues and try to accommodate me in some way, but instead, she chose to challenge me. While I've had positive experiences with Dr. Aguilar and with an occasional fill-in dentist from another office, the quality of care has become hit or miss depending on who you happen to see. The inconsistency, combined with the poor communication and lack of follow-through, has been extremely disappointing. After more than 20 years as a loyal patient, I expected much better. It's sad to see a practice I once trusted decline to the point where I no longer feel confident recommending it.

I asked the floor staff to contact Kevin after locating my most recent receipt. She tried once and let me know he didn't answer. I sent an email and then waited 30 minutes to see if he'd respond so I didn't make the trip for nothing but he has not responded. If my membership was cancelled, I fully expect to be notified & to see $82.50 refunded to my card. Considering I paid my membership on 4/19 - the only conclusion I can come to is that Kevin decided to cancel my membership because of the below review/suggestion. I've been coming here for six years and don't have much negative to say but I do have a suggestion due to frustration when beds go down. Note: On 4/25 bed 6 was down. Situation: You have a (gold) customer who's been waiting in the parking lot since 20 min before opening and just before opening another customer comes in and jumps in the only working bed (meaning a 12-15 minute wait in addition to the 20min spent in the parking lot). Customer options at Cal tan - Pay for an upgrade to avoid the wait (that's a no since I pay $80 a month already) Wait 12-15 min extra (this makes your time at cal tan nearly an hour in total) Or downgrade so you can get done (but still pay the same) --------- Suggestion: your customer should 10000% receive a complimentary upgrade if a bed or beds on their tier are out of service. I've never been the member of a tanning establishment that doesn't show their customers they value them when situations like this arise. It's truly a bummer and I highly suggest taking the pressure off your floor staff and keeping your customers' weekends less packed with waiting.

The best part is that they come to your place so it makes it so much easier. The process took a little over 1 hour and my fiancé noticed a difference from the session. Furthermore, her teeth are more sensitive than normal and the session didn't leave her in pain. She was a little sensitive for a little over a day but nothing like we've experienced from the dentist. The icing on the cake is that the prices are so affordable than my normal dentist which would usually charge $700-$1000. I am already telling all my friends and family as the process and professionalism from Malia surpassed my expectations.
