Update (5/17) I was never notified that my membership was put on pause/canceled. I had to reach out to find out that was in fact the case. I was told on 5/1 that a refund has been issued after I requested a refund - as of today I still have not received my $82.50 refund. Update: I walked in today (4/27) to tan & was told my account is inactive / locked and there was nothing she could do unless the manager was there to override. I asked the floor staff to contact Kevin after locating my most recent receipt. She tried once and let me know he didn't answer. I sent an email and then waited 30 minutes to see if he'd respond so I didn't make the trip for nothing but he has not responded. If my membership was cancelled, I fully expect to be notified & to see $82.50 refunded to my card. Considering I paid my membership on 4/19 - the only conclusion I can come to is that Kevin decided to cancel my membership because of the below review/suggestion. I've been coming here for six years and don't have much negative to say but I do have a suggestion due to frustration when beds go down. Note: On 4/25 bed 6 was down. Situation: You have a (gold) customer who's been waiting in the parking lot since 20 min before opening and just before opening another customer comes in and jumps in the only working bed (meaning a 12-15 minute wait in addition to the 20min spent in the parking lot). Customer options at Cal tan - Pay for an upgrade to avoid the wait (that's a no since I pay $80 a month already) Wait 12-15 min extra (this makes your time at cal tan nearly an hour in total) Or downgrade so you can get done (but still pay the same) --------- Suggestion: your customer should 10000% receive a complimentary upgrade if a bed or beds on their tier are out of service. I've never been the member of a tanning establishment that doesn't show their customers they value them when situations like this arise. It's truly a bummer and I highly suggest taking the pressure off your floor staff and keeping your customers' weekends less packed with waiting. read more

I've been coming to California Tan for the past six months. I like to get their Spray tan. I was hesitant at first because I came from another place where they manually Spray tan you so I wasn't sure if the machine would get all my areas. So after my first Spray tan, I was pleasantly surprised that I had an even beautiful golden tan! Since then, I've been back a few times and Kimberly who works the front is incredibly sweet and as always been so friendly to answer all my questions and make recommendations. The room is always sanitized and clean. The spray tanning booth is easy to use. With the tan you have access to a cream barrier for your toes and fingers, and you're supplied with a cap, foam feet covers and a towel. My spray tan usually lasts about 3 weeks. I just felt compelled to comment on my experience at California Tan & Wellness (CTW). My first impression was the clean and serene environment, something very important to me! Secondly was being greeted by the beautiful and welcoming Hillary I believe her name is! She gets to be like an old friend and a face I look forward to seeing every time I visit. On my first experience the equipment was new, clean, and simple to operate! It was thoroughly explained to me how to operate and if I had any questions, Hillary was just a holler away. Came here for a spray tan for years now recently they might have changed the products they use but I expressed to the establishment that the last time did not go well and I was not too happy with it since it was my birthday and came out a bit funky . Owner is amazing. Prices are a little high but the red light therapy is worth it. Best part is if you have any issues you will receive a call directly from the owner. Everyone is kind and courteous. After doing my research online about red light therapy and its benefits I decided to look online and find myself a place where I could try this red light therapy and that's when I stumbled across this place. As someone who works out and is very active, I constantly put my body under a lot of stress, leading to aching joints, soreness, and trouble sleeping. So I came here really hoping that this red light therapy would do the things that I've been reading about during my research online. As I arrived, I was greeted by Kevin who I assume is the owner of the place since I've read the reviews. I let him know that this was my first time ever seeking a red light therapy session and was sharing with him my lifestyle and how it affects me so at that point, he starts sharing information with me about red light therapy and all of its benefits and so forth. Anyways, I got myself all set up in a room where I laid on the red light therapy bed and began my session. During my session, I got this feeling of relaxation and warmth which felt good, 15 minutes went by and my session came to an end. As I got up I noticed my body felt relaxed and slightly lighter. kinda like the feeling you get after a massage which was a good feeling. I will say that for the 1st time in months, I had gotten a solid 8 hours of sleep without tossing and turning throughout the night. I woke up the next day feeling refreshed and this was only from one session. Now I know why people have turned to red light therapy. If you value your safety and privacy...this is NOT your place. At first, I was excited to give this place a try. Even though the prices were a bit higher than some places, it seemed clean and had a lot of choices for tanning and wellness. I bought a package for the infrared sauna and for tanning. My first session for infrared left me scratching my head a bit because it never got that hot. Seemed like it should have been pre-heated a lot longer before allowing a customer in it, but when I mentioned it, they credited me the session. My first tanning session was fine. The second time I went, I noticed the door didn't lock, but went ahead with my session anyway, though a little tense that someone could come right in, but that was nothing compared to the next visit. My next visit was for the infrared sauna. I called ahead to have it pre-heated and waited the amount of time the advised. On my way, they texted me to tell me that they had forgotten to start it and it was going to be a longer wait...okay...worth it since I wasn't in a rush for it to actually be hot. Got there and was checked in by a young male employee. Went into the room and started my session. Still didn't seem to be as hot as it should be, but that wasn't the worst of it. In the middle of my session, as I was naked and exposed, without even knocking, the owner of the place used his key to walk right into my room!!! No warning...again...no knocking...with a female client NAKED and exposed. He did leave quickly, but WHY did he come in at all? Why wouldn't you knock? Once I was dressed and leaving I asked him this in the lobby. He just grinned and said a pretty empty "sorry". Told me he was embarrassed...HE WAS EMBARRASSED?! He also said with a sheepish grin "I promise I didn't see anything". His excuse for coming in..."sometimes that door just locks itself". Like...WHAT? If you know this, wouldn't you repair it? Wouldn't you check the system (Which he claims he did so either he was lying or his own employee didn't put it in as they should have...both of which could be a scam against female clients) and WOULDN'T YOU KNOCK AT LEAST?! I left in a huff so embarrassed and angry I couldn't find my words (which is an odd one for me) until the next day when I texted my full complaint and demanded a refund for all of my sessions as I did not feel safe to go back. I was traumatized by this experience. Once again, empty apologies and a bit of gaslighting in attempts to tell me my feelings were unfounded, albeit he did agree to the refund. 2 weeks later and multiple texts demanding the refund be put through and it finally was which again was ridiculous as that should have been done immediately and without me having to make demands. If you can't keep women safe and you can't insure privacy with services in which people are normally undressed you have NO BUSINESS being in this kind of business. WOMEN especially be warned! I am certain I am not the only one this has happened to in this facility. read more

I've been coming to this place since COVID actually. I would come here for the infrared therapy (red light therapy) which is amazing! But I'm Friday I came for some TLC. They offer lots of different machines - versa and red light therapy which I love! Even teeth whitening. I had never UV tanned before and was nervous and felt kinda stupid asking so many questions but the staff is so nice and easy going.
