Such a gorgeous club for ‍& events! Stunning views as you make your way up to the venue. Spotted many on the property!

We had lunch here with friends who are members of this rather exclusive club. The location is absolutely stunning. We ate outside on a picture perfect day overlooking the gold course with Monterey Bay in the background. Clint Eastwood's humongous house/estate stood out on the hillside just past the golf course. The service was impeccable and the food was good. We started with crab & corn bisque which was quite good. Two of us had the seafood tacos which came with beans & cole slaw. It was bland and could have used some seasoning and hot sauce. The soba noodle dish with shrimp was also lacking in oomph, seasoning and inspiration, but the excellent Pinot Noir made up for it! The receptionist was nice during check in. They give free s'mores kits. There are campfires around the property. I had a relaxing night! Room: I had a room with two queens. It was very spacious! There was a separate shower and bathtub in the bathroom. There were black out curtains on the windows. I didn't realize there was a window on the ceiling until the sun shown down in the morning. Then I also noticed there were blinds to block out the sun on that too! The bed was so comfy. The blanket was so warm and seemed like down feather. They gave us two complimentary glass bottles of Martinelli's apple cider. Amenities: -Fitness center. I was here at night, so it was very dark. I only saw one small room with cardio equipment. No weights. -Spa. There was no water dispenser and no hair dryer. In the women's locker room, there were lockers, one shower, new bathrobes, one pair of slippers (that we saw), and fresh towels. The steam room was small but could fit at 4-5 people. -Pool. The pool is heated. I wish they had a jacuzzi! -Golf. I think they had a 9-hole course on the property, but I did not partake in this. -Golf shop/Golf club. This is a 10 minute walk from the lodge. You can rent and purchase equipment here. -Tennis/pickleball. Equipment is free to borrow. No shade for the pickleball court. One tennis court is covered in shade by itself. Not sure about lighting. No wind guards. -Restaurants. See website for hours. When I checked out around 11-12PM, the restaurant was closed.

They charge $25 per person, unlimited balls. A little pricey compared to the other driving ranges around but worth the try since we were in the area. There's a limit to how far you can hit your ball (180 yards) because it's not a big enough space and there are houses nearby. The pro shop looked well stocked with golf clothes, footwear, accessories. I'm sure there were golf clubs (I didn't really look, but I'm pretty sure I saw some bags). Lastly, they have strict dress code- both at the course and at the range- no denim, no t-shirt's, no sweats. Didn't know this prior to coming here.

The room was spacious, we added a roller bed and BabyQuip crib. Signed up for the little rancher and was super cute. The kids got to feed the goats, per sheep, alpaca, donkeys and mini horses. Did breakfast buffet daily, as we had credit. We also went to the pool, and the kids loved it. Walked around the golf course and saw some deers. There was a wedding so it was kind of loud. Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.

Note: PRIVATE CLUB…read more This is, no questions asked, my favorite golf course of all time. It's not simply for the course, but for the other amenities. While I'm not a member here, I'm lucky enough to have friends who are. You must own a home or lot here in order to join the country club, which makes it that much harder to become a member. From the moment you drive up to the clubhouse, it's like magic. There are a team of people to take your clubs, take your car and get you anything you want. Upon arrival, I jokingly responded to the standard "Is there anything I can get you?" with a request for a double mocha and some scones. Five minutes later while walking up to the driving range, a young man showed up with, you guessed it, a double mocha and two freshly baked scones. The course will eat you alive, period. It's a whopping 143 slope from the back tees. The course is a little quirky, similar to Tehama, simply because it was cut into the hills of a rancho. However, it is much more straightforward than Tehama and despite the difficulty, a much more enjoyable trek. The 18th hole has one of the most IN-SANE forced carries I've ever seen in my life. While we were playing the Gold tees, you need to at least walk up to the Black tees to see the almost incomprehensible drive needed to make the fairway. Needless to say, I ended up taking a drop as my drive failed to clear the huge canyon. Beg, borrow or steal to play this course at least once in your life. I can't begin to say how fortunate I feel to have played here, and I'm looking forward to coming back. During an entire 18-hole round, we saw one other golfer. Not another foursome, just one lone golfer. We stopped for lunch at the 12th hole for 30 minutes, and no one came up behind us. Have drinks on the patio after your round and enjoy the beautiful surroundings to cap off an incredible experience before driving back home to reality.

Flew into Monterey, felt like stepping off a private jet onto the tarmac, this is how the 1% lives. We golfed at Pebble Beach (bucket list) one day and Spyglass the second day (another bucket list item). The golf was picture perfect, the 18th hole on Pebble right along the ocean, drives to remember for a lifetime. Both courses were beautiful and everything was first class all the way. You are assigned a caddy, just like the pros, really fun. I think these guys make more than doctors, big dollars fall into their hands, but they make it enjoyable and fun. This is the kind of trip you dream about and it did not disappoint. The restaurants were 5 stars, ribeyes/steaks and seafood every night, even the breakfast spot we went to in the morning was amazing, cinnamon rolls the size of dinner plates. The Hotel had a gym that was better than many gyms you pay a membership for, new, huge, great equipment, great views.
