I was searching Yelp recently for a good computer repair company and was fortunate to find Tek-Ease! After having called a few other businesses to get a quote on repairing my laptop and getting quotes ranging from $125 up to a few hundred dollars, I was pleasantly surprised when I talked to Ryan. Unlike the other people I had spoken to, he took a few minutes to ask me about what specific problems I was having. He told me he expected the repair to take about an hour and would charge $75. He searched online right then an there to get a quote on the part he would need (which he charged me for at cost, not extra) and even promised that if he didn't fix the problem, he wouldn't charge me at all! On top of this, he was willing to take a look at my computer that same day, even though it was on a Saturday, he worked out of his house, and typically didn't do business on weekends. It took a few weeks between when I first came to him and when my laptop was fixed, though this was mostly due to the fact that the power cord I provided him with for my laptop turned out to be faulty and a new one had to be ordered. Even though most of my waiting time was beyond his control, Ryan offered me a significant discount on a good "scrubbing" of my laptop (getting rid of unnecessary files, installing a free firewall and anti-virus software, etc) to help make up for having to wait so long. He held true to his promise that he wouldn't charge me more than $75 for the repair, and when a minor new problem sprung up as a result of the repair (the part he replaced had a cord that got in the way of the CD drive tray opening and closing) he promptly fixed it at no charge. He also quickly responded to the e-mails I sent him about a few last follow-up questions related to the repair, and went above and beyond by also helping me back up my files for free! Overall my experience with Ryan at Tek-Ease (he is one of two owners / technicians as far as I'm aware) was excellent, and I will definitely return for any future computer repair needs! I highly recommend Tek-Ease and doubt that there is any better computer repair experience to be found here in Denver! read more

Things started out well enough. Ryan was able to free up 1/2 of my hard drive by deleting a bunch of old backup files that i didn't even know existed. But then he up-sold me on an imaging software (to create auto-backups of my system) and things went downhill. (He also convinced me to give up the Norton security software for his own security suite - it's fine, no better, no worse, than Norton, but a bit more expensive. He also tried to sell me a new hard drive, but i didn't bite on that.) The imaging software has been a nightmare! It runs when it's not supposed to (making things slow when i'm trying to work) and it doesn't run when it's supposed to (in the middle of the night). Ryan claimed that he could fix everything remotely, using a remote access program that he loaded on my laptop. For days and days, over a couple of weeks, I gave Ryan access to my laptop so he could try to fix the imaging software. 3 weeks later, and it still doesn't work properly. Ryan then said he needed the computer and my external drive for more work in person. By this point, i had wasted too much time on the endeavor and just deleted everything. Ryan's excuse is that computers are complicated, which is no doubt true (that's why people hire him). But he promised more capabilities and flexibility than he could deliver, and he was not as accommodating and flexible as he pretended to be. Work that was supposed to take one day took two or three days. Work that he said he would do today didn't get started until tomorrow or next week. Those kinds of delays would have been fine had the software that he sold me worked as promised on the 15th try. Instead, Ryan wanted the customer to bend over backwards to accommodate his tinkering schedule. Tek-Ease was supposed to make my tech life easier, but it was much more hassle than it was worth. Ryan now refuses to issue a refund for the imaging software that I had to uninstall, because i wasn't able to drop everything and give him my computer for a couple more days. He is very professional, honest, and a pleasure to work with. while he was working on my computer he gave me a loaner laptop so that i could work while he was diagnosing the issue. As a consultant, my computer/laptop is as valuable as any tool, if not more so. Ryan took on a VERY difficult task to rebuild what I had allowed to occur over a couple of years of hard use. While I am a computer science professional, Ryan's intuitive use and capable execution with tools I knew, but not nearly as well, was what was needed to fix what I had caused to break. Ryan is awesome to work with--I had been having computer issues for a while; my laptop was to the point of no return as far as I could tell and I was pretty nervous about it and wondered with dread as to what the diagnosis would be! I met up with Ryan a couple of months ago and dropped off my laptop with him--he was very prompt in getting to the bottom of the issues with my computer and took the time to explain everything to me that he had done to fix it! I received a very detailed invoice outlining everything, which I appreciate, and the price was reasonable--I'd spent a good amount on this Dell a few years ago and was worried I'd have to accept that it was toast...wasn't the case though, thanks to Ryan! My laptop was in serious trouble a couple of weeks ago, I had a pretty terrible virus on my computer that was really making me nervous since I didn't want to lose my pictures, resume, music etc. I looked on yelp to see who was reasonable and had really good references, Tek Ease was it. Ryan took my computer early on a Monday and had everything fixed and finished by the evening. I was really scared at first that it was going to cost me around $300 because I did a little research for local companies I could take it to and that was the base price for what I needed to get done, you can imagine my surprise when I got the bill and it was about half of what I expected! Not only did Ryan get my computer working again, he also installed some necessary software to keep it safe and freed up about 20 GB on my hard drive! He was also phenomenal about explaining everything to me in detail of what he installed and some tips to keep my computer operating efficiently. I am a serial computer problemer. Having just moved out to Denver I wasn't sure who to turn to when I started experiencing power problems with my laptop. I found Ryan on yelp and after reading all of his excellent reviews I decided to give him a call. He responded quickly and was able to take a look at my computer right away. I dropped it off in the morning and he called me that night with a diagnosis. I was really impressed with how fast he was able to get things done. Ryan offered me a loner laptop to use while he worked on mine, which was a nice commodity. He was straight up with me about the price and I opted to add on some additional software and get rid of my horrible antivirus. I was really impressed with his professionalism and friendliness. He was very inviting and I felt really comfortable. I am not computer savvy, but Ryan sat down with me and explained everything he had done and showed me how to work all of it. After taking my machine home I got a text from him a few days later asking how it was working. It was nice to know that he cared. Well, I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said about Ryan at Tek-Ease. I work from home and need for my computer to be in tip-top shape all the time, and with Ryan only an email away I'm always confident I won't miss any deadlines. I, like others, found him on Yelp when I had a quick acting and pretty nasty virus on my computer. He was at my house in a matter of hours and my computer was up and running before dinner that same day. He's professional, extremely knowledgable, and never makes me feel like an idiot when I contact him with stupid questions. My favorite thing about the way Ryan runs his company are his optional monthly service packages. I pay him a (very) reasonable fee every month and I know my computer and network will always be working. I look at it just like car insurance; I hope I never have to use it, but if something comes up I know I'll be taken care of without having to spend thousands of dollars. When first contacting Tek Ease, on a recommendation from a friend, Ryan was very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained what he thought could be the problem and we made arrangements to get him the desk top computer. A few follow up calls as to what was needed to fix computer. Finally having to send the hard drive for data retrieval. Ryan having to send to someone else with more expertise in data retrieval. This was over a year ago, he has had the computer for over a year and no contact or info being passed on. Only three calls in the last year. Have left several messages requesting info and no response. This is very bad business, if the computer cannot be fixed, say so and give it back. He still has the computer and I don not understand this kind of business. Fix it or give it back. I would not recommend him to anyone. Turned out to be very unprofessional. I contacted Ryan for my company for a price quote....a simple price quote....no contracts here folks.... This was on a Wednesday before a busy holiday weekend. I was very busy with many projects and was not able to get back to him once he responded. He sent me an extremely UNPROFESSIONAL email essentially throwing a hissy fit because I had not replied to him in four days. He accused me of not getting back to him as a lack of care and respect.....and yet he couldn't even address the emails to me by using my correct name. My son's laptop had a bug he could not get rid of using the "usual" methods one uses when they aren't a computer repair person. I called some of the usual folks to see what the process would involve (Geek Squad/Best Buy) and was told it would be nearly $300 to just diagnose the problem, and they weren't even sure they'd be able to fix it. Ryan told me to bring it in and he'd give me a quote to fix it. Within a day he had it up and running with new antivirus software for less than $200. i honestly thought most of these reviews were fake when i first came across tek ease via yelp. but, there were more "real-looking" positive ones than any other computer repair place listed, so i bit the bullet and went with it. i was not disappointed. ryan was extremely friendly, helpful and professional, and even though he couldn't fix exactly what needed to be done, he referred me to the people that could and got all my information off my old computer for me before i sent it off to the other repair place. at first i thought the price for that was a little steep ($75), but he ended up going above and beyond the call of duty to help me in my fried computer situation. for example, gave me some excellent tips, referred me to lots of free or cheap programs available to do a lot of things i'd been looking to do, and then gave me a free rental laptop to use for up to 30 days while my computer was being repaired somewhere else. i can't imagine there are a whole lot of businesses out there who would essentially lend me a computer for a month for no extra charge. the only thing i'm subtracting a star for is the fact that the loaner was a clunky, ancient piece of hardware on its last leg (the power cord kept coming loose from the laptop, and even sometimes when it seemed securely connected, at times i wouldn't be able to get it to recognize there was a power source). however, the software/processor/etc. on/in it was all the latest and greatest available so that i was able to get my work done and do everything else i needed to do just as if i was working on a new machine. ryan also called a couple of weeks after i worked with him to check up on how everything was working with my newly-repaired computer, and i appreciated that he cared enough to do so. overall, it was a great experience, and i've recommended ryan and tek ease any chance i've had. read more
