Very poor experience . $50 for a margarita pitcher to me just seems like too much for the quality given . Our table ended up with a $600+ bill after a horrible service by the waitress . After the longest wait ever . We had to get our own utensils to eat , napkins . It Was a busy 5 de Mayo day but they were so not ready for the Day . Split bills with party of 3 they included a high amount for gratuity , for a waitress who really did not deserve even $5. I never had such a bad experience before . The bill was ridiculous . We tried this new restaurant in Methuen last night, it was slow but it was early on a Monday night, so to be expected. We got prompt, friendly service. The house margaritas are very good and authentic. The chicken quesadillas were very flavorful, seasoned well and stuffed with great ingredients. I really enjoyed my time here. I hope this place lasts in this location, as others have not. The decor is typical of a Mexican restaurant but not as cheesy as others I've been too. I was pleasantly surprised at how many tables are packed into the spot. The atmosphere was very laid back, it's definitely a spot where you could stay for awhile drinking and laughing with friends. The wait staff were all very nice, they where a little slow and didn't come over as often but I didn't feel rushed to leave which I liked. The drinks where really strong but a little on the pricer side. I only had the cheese dip, which was super spicy but delicious! The restaurant was very clean and kept up well. Tekila's opened up a month or two ago and after having driven by quite a few times I stopped by for lunch today with my boyfriend to check it out. Overall the service was pretty good - the hostess sat us immediately and our server stopped by at least 3 or 4 times to make sure we had everything we needed. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. We ordered a bowl of queso (called 'cheese dip' on the menu) to start - which wasn't much more than just canned nacho cheese sauce. I ordered the Burrito Panchito with chicken and my boyfriend ordered the Burrito Tekila with steak. His burrito had what seemed to be thousand island dressing on the top (huh?), but he said it tasted ok otherwise. My burrito was pretty bland and tasteless and something definitely tasted off. Overall, I would not recommend eating at Tekila's, especially considering that there are much better Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

My friend and I went there because the wait for another restaurant was too long. The atmosphere was nice and looks like they had a stage set up for a band (no band came when we were there). We got table side guacamole which wasn't horrible. I ordered chicken enchiladas which came with 3- one of them was beef! The waitress did not offer to change it to chicken and did not apologize even after I told her I didn't eat beef (I didn't touch it once I realized it was beef). The refried beans were like soup texture. Also, I asked for sour cream and our waitress gave us fried plantains. I gave 2 stars because the atmosphere was nice. Not sure if other reviews are old or what but if you are looking for the most traditional place to get deliciously spiced food such as fajitas, enchiladas etc....in a dominicam republic atmosphere this is the place to be. Live band on saturday, great music! Really a good place. I was surprised how good it was because of the reviews I had seen. The staff amd service was outstanding, not slow, I saw genuine smiles all night. If you live in the area, definetely a place to go. I wanted to take my wife, and my mother in-law to a nice Mexican Restaurant. My wife mentioned this place because she heard that it was good and she wanted to try it. I am always open to new restaurants. When we came in on Mother's day, it took them about 20-25 minutes which is very reasonable given the amount of people waiting. They sat us down in a corner. The furniture is not what you would expect from a recently opened restaurant, but I was still very open to the experience. After waiting 45 additional minutes to get serviced, the hostess who sat us asked us if we were being served, in which we answered NO. She became extreme stressed out about the situation and complaint a bit about the type of help she was getting or not getting. The waitress finally came. Long story short... The service (waitress) was extremely rude. After we placed the order, we waiting 45 minutes for our food to come out. Before the food came out, we were ready to cancel. When we communicated to the waitress our situation, her answer was, if you want to cancel, it's your choice, and quickly walked away with an attitude. We were disappointed and frustrated. When I went to cancel the order, the food came out. The food was not tasty or pleasant, the service was horrible at best, and the environment was not great. I would never step a foot in this place again. I love food and I love restaurants, and I would never recommend this to any of my friends, but you are welcome to have your own experience. By the way, when we received the bill, there was an automatic gratuity of $35 for the waitress. This was the first time that my wife did something like this, but she asked to take the gratuity out of the bill due to the horrible experience and performance. Friendly service and people which seems to overcome the cafeteria style furniture and setting. People Ate friendly and seemed to have a good time. Most of the bigger crowd did not arrive until after 9:30 p.m. The bar is somewhat small and the TVs cater to baseball albeit the GOP debates were occurring at the same time. it is mostly a Latin crowd which seemed very comfortable with the setting. As I recall there were a couple of couches and deep chairs that was a nice alternative. I had a glass of Merlot that was tasty. Since my friend paid for it, I have no sense of its value. It seems to be a good hangout with a Latin crowd and I would hope to have a meal there in the near future. The food was awful, go to Terra Luna in instead. My dish was hard & over done. The waiter said elements of the dish had been cooked in advance. Mind you we were the only table! Which should have been a bad sign at 7:30 on a Friday night. But why isn't the cook preparing the food to order when they are not busy??? Also, we saw an employee come in with a take out bag from somewhere else, another bad sign when even the employees won't eat the food. The chips were stale & the salsa had no flavor. Tekila's has the best fajitas hands down. This is my go to restaurant whenever my family and I eat out. The chef Gustavo is excellent. The staff is super friendly and the facility is clean. The prices aren't bad either. The karaoke on Thursday nights is very entertaining and the house band on Fri/Sat nights is good too. First off, I've given this place 3 tries and never again. Tonight was the last straw. Each time it was mediocre, but it was new and so I figured they might work out the kinks... Not so. I went with my coworkers and we had dinner and drinks. The service was extremely slow, drinks even slower. Secondly, entrees were served and one of our group was extremely dissatisfied with hers. When she told the waitress, she made excuses and didn't apologize or remove from the bill. Thirdly, our bill came and there were a number of additional charges that were not incurred. Additionally, we noted that there was an 18% gratuity automatically tacked on to the bill for a party of 4. This is unheard of!!! Upon paying the bill with part gift card and part cash(we chose to leave only a 15% gratuity), the waitress returned and asked us how we would like to pay for the remaining small balance. We explained that we were not intending to, as the service was lacking and we chose not to pay 18%. She then said 'would you like to speak to my manager?' We said hat is not necessary, we paid our bill and we would be leaving. She said 'if you are not paying the amount then you need to speak to my manager'. We proceeded to wait for another 4-5 minutes while she dramatically summonsed him to the back to discuss. The longer we waited the more aggravated we got until finally I said' let's go! We paid for dinner AND left a 15% tip, they cannot make us wait here!' With that we stood up and began to walk out. At that moment, the manager along with the waitress appear and say 'you wanted to speak to me?' No. Not necessary!!! They embarrassed us as a result of their short-comings and inadequacies!!! Beware of this place 18% gratuity on a party of four is ludicrous! And then to treat you like you are skipping out for choosing to pay only 15%??? Shame on them. How many unsuspecting people have tipped generously on top of the 'built in' 18%? My guess is a LOT!!! They are clearly pulling the wool over our eyes intentionally. BEWARE! Ate here on a Friday night and was not impressed. It seems this place has some sort of identity crisis. Our server was very attentive at first and brought us some chips and "salsa". Worst salsa I have ever had in my life. It was so runny and lacked flavor. No pieces of tomato, nothing. I opted for a salmon salad. The salad did not come in a tortilla bowl, but I asked for one. The salmon on the salad was tasty, but I was served my "Mexican" salad with Italian dressing. That was odd and disgusting so I asked for another kind of dressing. Other options were ranch and cesar, really!? Gross. Anyway, my salad had stem-my pieces of lettuce and huge chunks of tomato and carrot. At least the salmon was good, but the salad itself was disappointing. Tip: create a house dressing and actually chop the ingredients within the salad. Our server took forever to bring us the bill. Went there on a date last night, drinks and appetizers. I had been there before, and had thought the food was decent. Sat at the bar, enjoyed our visit with the bartender, whose name I unfortunately did not get. Yes folks, the salsa is DIFFERENT from the pico de gallo style salsa Americans are used to calling salsa! This salsa is a chipoltle - based recipe, and is quite tasty! We asked for an appetizer recommendation from our bartender, she turned us on to the mofongitos, which were outstanding! Band looked like it was going to be good, but they were still setting up by the time we left at 9:30. For the bashers that say this is "not authentic Mexican", this is one interpretation of the cuisine. (Can you imagine if every burger restaurant was exactly the same as McDonalds?) For those that say Lupita's in Haverhill is "better", I say that I am a fan of both places, and Lupita's is a different style of place (no bar, no drinks, etc) If you are looking for a place with some live latin music, friendly servers, and some interesting food choices, try Tekila's out. read more

I will NEVER go back. Food was fine, very tasty. The service is the reason for one star. I will never go back to this place. I went with a large group who had made plans to show up at noon on Sunday. They assured the group they would be open. When we arrived, they weren't open yet but they opened for us and all the chairs were still on top of the tables. I can forgive that part if I lt was the extent of the bad service. It seemed like an eternity from the time we walked in before we even had water on the table. Every step of the way took a very long time, and for most of our visit, we were the only customers, so there was really no excuse for the lack of speed. The final reason and the most important to me was the bill. I was with a group so they added an 18% gratuity to the bill. I understand that and I don't have a real problem with that, most places will do the same thing. The problem was when the waitress brought back my change. She only brought me my whole dollars. Any extra change was kept without my saying so, they did the same to other members of my group. The service was so bad they didn't even deserve 18% but with the theft of my change, the waitress effectively gave herself a 20% tip. If you absolutely need Mexican food, by all means, try it. But do not expect good service, or you will be writing the next bad review. read more
