Stopped in today to el patron to support a new local Mexican restaurant, I have a couple in town that I like, this was the new methuen location.. Couldn't be more disappointed with this place, fist and foremost please add a lunch menu, second please offer some chips and salsa, none of the above.. I ordered the Cameron's la Diablo extra spicy, 5 shrimp 1 slice of jalapeño, tomato sauce and a few onions and peppers.. I ordered the skinny margarita which was terrible given the fact it was 1 ounce of tequila with some mix, I corrected the bartender and said no mix, I got the same drink back. With tip it was 48.00 I will never step foot in this place again, drinks and food were terrible. I prefer my Mexico mi lindo up the street, I can get the same meal and a perfect pitcher of margarita for less, And a basket full of chips with salsa. Sorry you failed on all levels. read more

Service was friendly and pretty quick. I love the different combinations on the menu. I had the skirt steak, with sweet plantains, refried black beans, rice and guacamole salad. Also cream and a white cheese. Couldn't eat it all, but I tried. Sweet plantains came out cold inside. They remade them and brought them out reasonably quick. Delicious and piping hot. read more

Came in town for a wedding and stopped here for some late Saturday night dinner. Came in around 10, got seated about 10:20 despite it looking pretty busy. Menus were sparse but we got chips and salsa (pretty basic) and ordered two coconut margaritas. We secured a QR code menu to decide on food. I ordered the birria tacos with a side of fried plantain (tostones) and my bf got the churrascos. Overall my bf liked his food, good portion size. The birria was good, great with the extra hot sauce that was provided. That hot sauce is amazing and should be the level of spice on everything! So good! Overall loved the food and environment. The automatic 20% service charge for "the cooks" was a shock and weird since the suggested tip factored that in like it was a dish. For the two of us, with the drinks, entrees, service charge and tip, we spent about $100. But overall, worth going. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Be forewarned the staff speak no English. After trying to get our waitresses attention for almost an hour (in a near empty resteraunt) we finally got our check and put down 2 credit cards to split the bill. When she returned she informed us that the machine does not allow them to split bills between multiple cards. Rather than asking us which card to charge, she elected to pick one at random and charged the full amount to it, causing an overdraft fee on my friend's debit card The food was just okay. Went here for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday. This place did not disappoint. Food was amazing, drinks were out of this world...service on point (if I was still managing restaurants I would try to steal your staff ) . Prices printed on the menus mean nothing. When I got the bill everything food item we ordered was $2.00 higher than what was printed on the bill. Margaritas were $1.00 higher than what was printed. No disclosure printed on the menus or anywhere else in the restaurant indicating any menu prices increase. Must be the gringo price. Oh and they automatically ad a 20% tip to your bill, but then have a separate line for a tip. Try to get a double dip on the tip. Sleazy operation. read more

Staff was friendly and welcoming and on top of maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant. Food was delicious! Shrimp and tacos al pastor were delicious and I highly recommend. When they first opened food was amazing packed with meat & flavor. We came in a few weeks ago food had no flavor the birria tacos were bland and the consomé was basically brown water with cilantro and onions. We came in again today just in case the cook was having an off day maybe inventory was scarce BUT NO same bland birria tacos with barely any meat and watery consomé. Rice was bland and the steak quesadillas had barely steak or cheese. Definitely won't be back they've definitely lost they're touch. I'm so glad this restaurant is still able to operate during COVID, their cocktails are very unique. Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also very friendly! I got takeout the week they opened and got the taco salad. To be honest yet brief I will describe it simply as one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. It was supposed to have been with beef but what they served me was gray and fishy tasting...I called it mystery meat. To boot there was virtually no lettuce just a few little strings of iceberg in an otherwise greasy taco bowl with unidentifiable meat in it. I vowed to never go back. And believe me I was bummed. Methuen could use a good Mexican restaurant (a good any kind of restaurant would be appreciated). HOWEVER, I'm very glad I broke my own vow and let my friends talk me into getting takeout again. The following time, I ordered the burrito deluxe and I was so pleasantly surprised! It was extremely well cooked and full of flavor. All the meat was tender, [identifiable], and the tortilla was not soggy or burnt, but just right. The side of rice and beans I ordered were excellent. The seasoning was authentic. I would absolutely go back, and look forward to trying their other menu items. I guess as a brand new place they just needed a little time to get their act together. They don't do Individual tacos or mix them so I got an order of the steak tacos. It set me back nearly $17 for 3 of them. The steak was chewy and there were nachos and rice that came with it in there too which I didn't fancy. read more

The food is great and all.... however, they do discriminate certain people. If you somehow look like you might not leave a tip, or have some noisy kids, they will automatically put the tip in. I was there on a monday, and the waitress, barely provided any service... just dropped off the food and left, and came back at the end to hand some boxes for our food and left the bill, with the tip already there.
