they served me this! definitely not fresh...chicken tampora roll

had a awful experience here this monday evening, came in by myself, and ordered over 100$ of sushi. As i walk in i was immediately greeted by an asian lady she looked at me with disgust and rolled her eyes me, i felt so unwanted and went and seat myself, the whole time i was eating i felt this lady staring at me, i felt so uncomfortable, the SUSHI was nothing special and i can promise you. it didn't taste fresh and cold like im used too, the fish quality wasn't the best,TAKE your money elsewhere, i will not be back!

This spot may become one of my favorite Japanese restaurants -- it's located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking and is located not too far off the highway, making it a convenient spot to meet with friends from all around the suburbs and even those from the edge of the city. The decor is a bit more on the trendy side and the furniture is comfortable. This makes it a great spot to casually enjoy a meal and conversation with friends. Service is also quick and friendly, and the serving speed is fairly quick as well. Prices are on the cheaper side of a classier looking restaurant and portion sizes are generous. The food really shines here in all aspects -- presentation, flavor, and texture. The crab rangoon is very crispy and presented very neatly in a folded bag style. The salad comes in a nice heavy bowl with a delicious miso dressing. The tempura entree comes with a generous amount of shrimp tempura and delicious vegetable tempura -- all fried in a nice light and crispy batter. For maki, I tried the alaska roll, american dream roll, and spicy tuna roll. The fish portions here were quite generous and all the components tasted fresh. I was quite happy with how well the rice was prepared, and how tightly the maki was rolled. I was also happy that this wasn't oversauced, so that I could enjoy the quality of the ingredients. The best part of the meal was the amazing ramen. The shoyu ramen had a strong garlic flavor with pork that was super tender and charred slightly to perfection. The oyster mushroom helped to add a nice meatiness and the onsen egg was slightly molten and delicious. The noodles had a good firm, yet slightly chewy texture. The traditional shio ramen was similarly full of umami, with nice thick and delicious roasted beef fillets. Both ramen options had a beef broth that will please any lovers of pho, as the taste was bold yet not too fatty or salty. Overall, delicious food, good prices, comfortable seating, and more make this spot an easy restaurant to recommend for anyone looking for Japanese food.

My husband and I joined a friend at Tekka Sushi for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant has a nice aesthetic to it and it was decorated nicely for Christmas. We had the crab rangoon, spicy tuna roll, American dream roll, Alaska roll, shrimp tempura dinner, tonkatsu shio ramen, and the shoyu ramen. All of the food was fantastic. The tempura was fried well. The sushi was fresh and tasted great. But my favorite items were the ramens. The beef and pork broths had their own distinctive flavors. It takes a lot of time and care to prepare these ramen broths. I cannot recommend Tekka Sushi enough and look forward to coming back.

The food was very fresh. I tried a sushi entree but next time I want to try the ramen. The staff were very attentive and fast. The restaurant was not very big but very simple and clean. The desserts were not great we tried the mochi ice cream and cheesecake.

I came here on a Friday late afternoon to have some ramen & sushi. The restaurant was pretty empty so we got seated immediately. Location: Convenient and plenty of parking being located next to a Jewel. Nice to be able to walk around Jewel after dining. Washrooms: Clean but no diaper changing areas for those that have little ones (this made it inconvenient for us. Also, not a fan of cold water during the wintertime while washing hands but that was the case here. Customer service: Friendly waitress Food Ramen: The ramen reminded me instant ramen or ramen I can buy at the stores and make. Light broth flavor but not exactly what I was looking for when getting ramen. I wouldn't recommend ordering ramen here. Sushi: it was okay but I've had better. .. I'll probably visit other places before dining here again.

Small and locally owned this sushi spot does it all! The atmosphere is very cozy and well designed. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by a 'snoopy mouse' or maybe a teddy bear haha. Service throughout was consistent and well timed out. All staff members were extremely kind and made me feel like I was part of their family. It was easy to tell that Tekka sushi has numerous returning customers by the interaction they had with each of their guests. My husband and I ordered the love boat which literally was presented on a boat! All the sushi was fresh and of great quality. The portion for each piece was also VERY generous. The love boat comes with a maki roll which we opted for the sweet heart roll and it's shaped in a heart. The attention to detail Tekka provides does not go missed! They really do a great job!

Even tho this was a to go order, they were very attentive when I walked thru the door.. not so much welcoming but more I see you and how can I help you. Now ever since they opened in Elk Grove this has only been my third visit but everytime I come I'm never NEVER disappointed. The sushi is always fresh, tastes clean and delicious. Look the way the make the potato roll is to almost die for! It was my first time trying it from them and it's going to send your tastbuds into a frenzy of twerking and dancing and pop lock and dropping it.. I could eat it all day! The Crunchy shrimp roll was absolutely delicious and taught me that I did not have a wide enough mouth to try and stuff one all in my mouth..it just wasn't working lol...and I got the chance to practice using chop sticks and I was doing well... you could have almost called me a pro until I got tired and started eating with my fingers because it was so good that not even one grain of rice could go uneaten!!! If your in the neighborhood or not but I'm the mood for sushi, give this place a try! Let me know how much you enjoyed it because you will! It's worth it in my book

Restaurant is dim and moody, music choice is good and the perfect volume. Tables and dishes were all clean and nice. They have nice thick disposable napkins. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Well air conditioned! House salad has a sort of creamy ginger dressing, pretty mild but refreshing, and it seems like the carrot and cucumber are cut in house (not a bagged mix) so the carrot is tender and not dried out. There was unfortunately a short dark hair in my salad. The cherry blossom appetizer came with an illuminated pile of radish, which was a little silly for my preferences, but the appetizer itself was very flavorful and the fish was fresh and had good texture. If you like a saucy roll, the black dragon roll is it! Not overly spicy, the sweetness of the eel still shines through, my only complaint is it's not a very textually interesting roll, it definitely would benefit from a little something crunchy.

This place is close to my office and I heard a lot of good things about it from my colleagues. I visited this place with some other colleagues and it was fantastic (for early dinner). The place has a great layout and classy ambiance. We ordered a lot of items from menu and everything was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see a big list of vegetarian options. Best part is that it is not expensive compared to other high-end sushi places. Their cocktail drinks are also pretty good (and generous with alcohol). Our server was very good and she was super quick in getting our orders as well. I plant to visit this place quite often.

Great sushi and menu! Prices are very competitive. The decor is beautiful and specialty rolls are large. Booth seating is comfortable and the music isn't too loud. Nigiri - avg $3 per piece, nice cuts and served on cute dishes in a box. Crab rangoon (6) $6.50 - Better than most, filling is tasty and is more than just cream cheese, would order again! Soft shell crab $8 - 1 soft shell crab cut in half, easy to share with 2 people. Lightly breaded and crunchy. Black Dragon Roll $16 - Fully loaded and delicious! Godzilla Roll $16 - Shrimp is crunchy and roll is flavorful. Butterfly roll $15 - Not bad, the crunch doesn't come through as much because the tempura shrimp is in the middle of the roll. Crispy Rice Tuna (4 pieces) $12 - Four large pieces of fully loaded roll with crispy rice Dragon Roll $13 - A solid eel roll. Fire Phoenix Roll $14 - Ok Twins Roll $13 - This is not my type of roll because of the texture. The tuna and salmon are mashed and has a mushy texture. I liked the spiciness of it. Hot green tea $3 - Served in cast iron teapot. Tokyo Mule $9 .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

They decorated it with hanging plants, some art, a fish tank. A slight haze of smoke. Desserts on display. I'd say the finest work of art here are the prepped skewers, waiting to be thrown on their charcoal grill. My gaze was fixed on the meat display as if I was Cookie Monster at Crumbl. I composed myself and took a seat. They have great hot and cold appetizers. They have breakfast! Check out their menu, I've included a pic. Lahmacun is a crunchy brick oven flatbread with ground meat. It feels so light, airy, and crunchy, you could eat the whole thing and later say "..um, I ate the whole thing". We ordered a few King Chef's mixed grill platters. It is a medley of filet morsels, chicken, lamb chops, shawarma, shish kebab, and many other things, along with bulgar and fries. Why are their fries so good? Okay, so I know we're just talking about lemonade, but their house made lemonade is so good. We also loved their tea. We went way overboard on desserts. We just kept pointing at sharable items like John Travolta to the Bee Gees. All of the desserts were delicious. For some reason, the simplest of them, rice pudding, won the dessert battle that day. They have plenty of intriguing items that will lure me back, and I'm looking forward to it!

Everyone loves an immigrant success story…read more A man gets on a boat, fleeing persecution in his homeland, arrives in America with three dollars in his pocket, opens a restaurant, and becomes a millionaire because he is simply that talented at his craft. This is not one of those stories. This is the story of MOQA, where somebody apparently came all the way from Kyrgyzstan, discovered American brunch culture, and made the catastrophic decision to imitate it... poorly. The place looks great. Clean, modern, polished. And then there's the P.O.A. Index. Completely f%*%#ing unhinged. Not just the staff. The entire building. Everywhere I looked there was another absurdly attractive woman working, drinking coffee, eating brunch, typing on a laptop, or otherwise innocently going about her morning while pushing the room's average attractiveness into statistically irresponsible territory. It felt less like a café and more like somebody had accidentally scheduled a casting call for Women Who Will Absolutely Ruin Your Life and forgot to tell me. Whatever was happening in Elk Grove Village that morning, MOQA was ground zero. Naturally, this created expectations. Then the food showed up. The breakfast sausage was a hot dog. Not hot-dog-like. Not some adventurous Central Asian interpretation of breakfast sausage. A hot dog sitting next to eggs pretending nobody would notice. I noticed. Then came the waffles. Something had gone terribly wrong. A waffle has three jobs: crispy outside, soft inside, transport syrup into your mouth. Humanity solved this problem centuries ago. MOQA has somehow reopened the investigation. These waffles seemed confused about what they were, why they existed, and whether breakfast was even the correct career path. I ordered a burger... I've had better ones at elementary school cafeterias. Sauced to the hilt with something gross, bland patty that was obviously premade, and even bacon jam couldn't save it. They even f*#%ed up toast. Toast! And that's really the problem with the whole menu. You came from Kyrgyzstan, a place with an actual culinary identity, and somehow wound up making brunch for people who drive white Teslas and say, "Let's circle back after Pilates." Why? That's an insane trade. Give me Kyrgyz breakfast. Give me Central Asian food. Give me bread, eggs, meat, dairy, tea, something with history, character, and enough personality to make me wonder what the hell I just ordered. Give me breakfast with a g**d*** point of view. I don't need Kyrgyz immigrants explaining waffles to me. America already has IHOP. We have committed enough crimes. MOQA already has the beautiful space. It has the atmosphere. It has friendly staff. It has a P.O.A. Index requiring scientific notation. Now it needs to stop pretending Elk Grove Village desperately needs another vaguely upscale American brunch concept. Embrace Kyrgyzstan. But for the love of God: Throw away the hot dogs. Fix the waffles. Cook the food you actually know.
