As always, Blufish Sushi never disappoints. The food, service and atmosphere is great! We decided last minute to go out for sushi and reservations were easy to make. The table was ready when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Jay quickly recognized me when he was passing by. He is always welcoming and friendly. Our server was great and took our drink orders while we decided what to order. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box which came with veggie fried rice, shrimp and veggie tempura, and a California roll and a soup. Spicy Edamame to share. My wife ordered the house salad which is made with a wonton type edible bowl (it is amazing). The Spicy Edamame has that balanced spice. I really enjoyed also, it was not too salty. The Bento box was delicious! The chicken had a drizzle of teriyaki sauce which in my opinion makes or breaks the dish and it made it! The tempura was cooked perfectly and the shrimp was not overcooked. I gave my soup away as I wanted to save room for the delicious fried rice. the portions were good. Also, they modified my California Rolls as I'm allergic to fish and it is imitation crab so it's fish. The rolls were good and I dipped it in a side of teriyaki sauce. We loved our experience, the service and food! We will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to it.

4.5 It was my first time at BluFish, and it definitely did not disappoint! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous inside, with an elegant atmosphere and amazing ambiance that made for a great dining experience. FOOD: We started with the scallop hamachi, stuffed mushrooms, and oysters on the half shell. All three appetizers were delicious, but the stuffed mushrooms were my favorite. They were far from your typical stuffed mushrooms. I believe they included crab in the filling, which paired perfectly with the mushrooms. For our main course, we ordered three sushi rolls, and we enjoyed every one of them. The sushi was incredibly fresh, creative, and beautifully prepared. My favorite roll was the Angry lobster. To end the night, we shared the ube crème brûlée and sorbet. Both desserts were fantastic. The ube crème brûlée was rich and creamy with a satisfying crunch from the sugar topping, making it the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Our server Adam was very attentive and helpful with our food choices. Overall, BluFish exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be back!

This place is gorgeous inside! Unfortunately did not get pictures of the decor but it was all curated so well. I got the crunchy muffy which has melted cheese on top and while it sounds crazy (who puts cheese on sushi?!) it was soooo good. I also got a pickled radish roll which I appreciated for the crunch. My friend got the salmon bento box and she enjoyed everything that was in it - came with a ton of food and a reasonable price point. Totally will be back again.

Divine in every way. Our expert server, Jenneke took such great care of us Saturday night. She knew the specials, the menu like the back of her hand. She was so gracious in her communication. And checked in on us all the time. The food was absolutely outstanding, and her presence will never be forgotten. This delicious sushi bistro is borderline Michelin star in my opinion great experience very chic...

Tried the sushi roll with avocado, cream cheese, and mozzarella. It was tasty and definitely unique, but the spicy tuna roll was still the star of the meal for me. If you're looking to try something different, it's worth ordering, but I'd go back for the spicy tuna!

I just finished an outstanding lunch here at Blufish with my friend. Although I really enjoy sushi (and I must admit - pretty much all food) I'm mostly used to going to one of my regular haunts, some of which are AYCE. I wasn't sure if this restaurant would be worth it, by comparison. I was pleasantly surprised. We each had the ginger side salad that came with our meals, and we shared a delicious crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. The crabmeat and wasabi aioli stuffing was super flavorful. We also split the angry lobster roll which again, was terrific. He really enjoyed the Chilean sea bass dinner, and I was equally happy with my salmon/tuna Poke bowl. The restaurant is clean and beautiful inside. The service was great, and I really felt the price was reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly recommend Blufish!

Food was delicious, portions were huge. The highlight for me was actually the house salad of all things. The decor is gorgeous and service was friendly and prompt. Didn't think to take pics until dessert, the ube creme brulee was excellent.

This is one of the trendy sushi restaurants that you normally see in downtown Chicago, but there's one in Schaumburg for us suburbanites! The quality of foods was very good. I would consider it similar to restaurants like Nobu but more accessible. The sushi was almost as good as the ones from Japan. I would recommend to get the black cod for cooked food option. Best of all, their menu also clearly label Gluten Free or can be Gluten Free. You can also ask for Gluten Free soy sauce. The service was great - they were attentive and listened to your request carefully. Plan a special outing here!

I had a fantastic experience at Blufish Sushi Bistro. Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh, especially the sushi it was some of the freshest I've had in a long time. The chicken fried rice was absolutely delicious and easily one of the best versions I've had anywhere. The fried calamari was also outstanding perfectly cooked, crispy, and flavorful. On top of the great food, the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and made the whole dining experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I'm going to combine my reviews as I have been there twice already and it's only been three weeks. Both times it was delicious and love the fact that they hep make substitutions to the sushi to accommodate those of us that don't eat fish! Last time, we ordered the veggie fried rice, Brussels sprouts, mango madness (minus fish), blossom and sweet potato roll. We also got some sorbet. The second time, we ordered veggie gyozas, Brussels sprouts, mango madness (minus fish), dirty old man (swap shrimp tempura to veggie tempura) and tempura udon (minus fish sticks). The service was amazing! The restaurant gets super busy but you can still hear the person across from you talk. Outside thy do offer heat lamps, so good for a chilly evening. We will continue to keep coming!

Brand new and amazing everything here!!! You must GO!!! The modern ambience is stunning, the fish/sushi so fresh, and service always exceptional. Reservations are highly recommended at peak times.

Blufish Sushi Bistro recently opened their fourth location in the Schaumburg area. The inside is beautifully designed with a central bar, (2) main dining areas, sushi counter, and private dining space. I loved the elegant finishes they used as well as mix of patterns & textures in the space. To start, we ordered the Lychee Martini and Gin & Tarragonic. The Lychee Martini was well balanced, not too sweet, and very enjoyable. The Gin & Tarragonic was very earthy tasting and gin forward. The notes listed on menu weren't quite what I expected when tasting the cocktail. For food, I got the Blossom Signature Maki which came with a good amount of veggies wrapped in spring mix lettuce. The rolls tasted fresh and bright but could have used more of a sauce element. My husband got the Angry Lobster Signature Maki which tasted as good as the presentation was! Highly recommend this roll! When visiting, we came from running errands and weren't the best dressed. Upon entry, the host told us they only had seats at the sushi counter or bar as a large amount of reservations were coming in. The entire time we dined, the restaurant was less than half full. I questioned if the excuse was valid or if they were trying to deter us from dining in. Once we sat at the bar, George took amazing care of us! He made great suggestions and made sure everything was great. Sadly, the host service simply left a bad impression overall.

The ambiance and layout of this restaurant were very modern and chic. A great place for a date or a girls' night out! The service was wonderful, and our server gave us great recommendations. We ordered the uni scallops, Sushi A, and the Supreme Combination. The uni scallops were delicious and tasted very fresh, so we were excited for our entrées. However, we were disappointed. The amount of rice in both our sushi and rolls was overwhelming; the proportions were off. We had to remove some of the rice just to taste the fish. I wish the portions had been more balanced so we could enjoy the fish and rice together. With so much rice, that was really all we could taste. Overall, I would give this place another chance and try something different next time.

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.

When we walked in the restaurant, we were the only people there. A few minutes later a party of Two walked in for Diane and then there was a guy that came in all by himself to pick up an order. We started off with a Japanese calamari appetizer. It was not seasoned at all just a little bit of salt. It really could use some other flavors. They gave us plain mayonnaise to dip it in, it was OK, but I was hoping that there would've been a nice specialty sauce.. My husband and I both had the chicken Ramen. It was just average. I don't think I would eat that again if I came here. It shocked me to see Sherri tomatoes floating in the soup. The broth had no flavor. It really needs some spices when they're cooking it. The table has Sriracha, fresh garlic, and red pepper flakes that you can add to your food which I did. There are a lot of menu options, so we might be back to try something else. We were unhappy that the appetizer came out a minute before our soup came to the table.

Well- let's just say he wasn't too warm or welcoming and could barely grunt a greeting. Hmm. We were quickly seated in a very japanese-looking restaurant (a good sign). We ordered two apps - the chicken karaage and the agedashi tofu. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu pork ramen (not on their web menu, but still...). First demerit- my ramen arrived before the apps did. Seriously. Seriously? Me with a main dish and my hubby/friends bereft of food? Oh wow. I didn't touch it until the apps arrived a couple minutes later - finally their mains arrived. Yay. The apps? Well, the chicken karaage was really fried chicken breast meat (no bones; not a prob for me, but hubby - a japanese man by birth- was not impressed). The agedashi tofu was yummy and quite good. Nice! Ok- my ramen was - yes- spicy and oily, as any good ramen should be. The bad part? I could tell the bean sprouts weren't fresh as my sensitive digestive tract let me know - fast- that the sprouts were "not" fresh. Yikes. Not a good thing - hence the demerit. Ok- first- we may come again. But gosh. the workers really need to be a bit happier to be there- or - if they can't be pleasant - keep them out of the public's eye. That would be a big help- after all, this was our first visit- and it wasn't too welcoming - it would have offset the bad sprouts, you know?
