I had an incredible experience with two Tekniton Technicians in regards to repairing my GE Built In Profile Microwave and Oven Combination. David V and Thomas V were pure perfection in regards to expertise, patience, perseverence, caution, respect and beyond any experience I have ever had with any technician previously. Two previous separate repair companies came out and were unable to diagnose and repair our appliance. They not only diagnosed and repaired it but they were able to do it expediently and before my scheduled knee replacement surgery. I have renewed several of my other GE warranties on my other appliances knowing that Tekniton would be coming out to do the repairs if the need arises. Worst customer service. I have missed 2 days of work. They confirmed my appointment online for 1p-5p appt said I'd get a call day before to confirm arrival time. I heard nothing. I called them 30mins prior to appt time and they said yes the tech will be there. Then I get a call from the Tech at 1pm saying he's hours away and needs to reschedule. Rescheduled for another day, again 1-5 p. I heard nothing. Then saw I had. Missed called at 12:48 saying he was 15 mins away. I waited no call. I went to the door to check outside at 1:10 and saw a note that said sorry we missed you. Another day of missed work. Dryer still broken and now I have to reschedule again. They suck. read more

I try not to leave 1 star reviews on Yelp as I know that it can greatly impact a business. I will preface this by saying that this review has nothing to do with the technicians employed by their business. I tried to get a repair on a Samsung washing machine and was referred to them by the Samsung representative since they are the official repair center in the Bay Area. Since my appliance was out of warranty, they informed me to reach out to them directly. I submitted a service request ticket on their website the night before but decided to call in also. The first red flag should have been that the customer service rep did not even state her name in her greeting. I was informed by the customer service rep that they could not assist me until I received a ticket number from Samsung. I told them that my appliance was out of warranty and that I needed to contact them directly. The customer service rep pushed back and said that even if I was out of warranty they should have provided me a ticket number. I informed them that I submitted a request via their website and inquired on where that request went if it wasn't to request a service. She informed me she had no idea what I was talking about and said that she can't see it on her end and could not assist me if I did not have a ticket number. At that point, there really wasn't anything left to say as she was basically refusing my business. In calling back to the Samsung representative, they informed me that the first representative was correct and that they don't generate service tickets for out of warranty appliances since the customer would be billed directly from the repair center. Per the Samsung representative re: this business: "If they have refused your business and are making it difficult for you, we'll just go with someone else." And with that I was provided a list of preferred local businesses and scheduled my diagnostic appointment the next day. Basically -- if you're out of warranty, I recommend skipping them. Samsung put me in contact with Tekniton to repair the bottom sprayer on my dishwasher which was not working. The technician came out to repair and ended up making the dishwasher completely unusable. It would not start up at all, whereas before he touched it it worked with only the bottom sprayer being an issue. Technician tried to blame this on the house wiring but agreed to replace the control board. The technician also left our place with the circuit breaker still off and drain tubes leading up to the sink disconnected. Upon second visit a week later with the replacement part the technician was still not able to get the dishwasher to power on (again, the dishwasher did power on and work before technician touched it for initial repair) and again blamed house wiring. The technician was very unhelpful and had a bad attitude and left insisting it was not his fault. I looked at the dishwasher after he left and immediately was able to determine he somehow messed up the internal wiring because THE FRAME OF THE DISHWASHER HAS LIVE CURRENT IN IT! See attached picture. He somehow managed to short the inside of the dishwasher to make it not only unusable but a life threatening hazard. Add a puddle of water and someone in my family could have died! I have tried to contact the company, and have sent them the video but they have not responded. I was apprehensive having read all the negative reviews of this place but my fears were well placed. Tekniton came out to check out my Samsung washer and Dacor microwave. The technicians who came out were very friendly and I got the impression that they were just following instructions from their superiors. I don't really blame them for the negative experience. It seems like some of the issues are with Tekniton as a company and some are with the way the Samsung/Dacor handle customer service and repairs. Washing Machine Our brand new washing machine, which has been used less than 10 times, shakes violently and has moved across the room, damaging our house. When the Tekniton reps watched it run (really loudly, and shaking violently) they said that it was within normal operating paramaters and there was nothing that they could do. Basically because the time that I ran it in front of them it wasn't moving across the room there's nothing to be done. I showed them visual damage to our house from when the machine moved. Microwave Tekniton tried to help me with a cosmetic defect on the microwave that they acknowledged was a manufacturing defect. When they called Dacor to get them to send a replacement, the Dacor rep on the phone requested photos. Before the Tekniton employee had even sent the photos the Dacor rep said that it was obviously an shipping/install issue and not their problem. I purchased a bunch of Samsung/Dacor appliances for our new house and this experience has made me never want to buy anything from them again. read more

My Samsung dishwasher stopped working over a month ago now and this is the company Samsung uses to service their "warranties" in the Bay area. My dishwasher is well under a year old and should be fully covered for parts and labor. The first Tekitron technician who came out had NO clue what he was doing. He didn't even pretend to know he knew something about dish washers. He spent the entire time on his phone speaking to someone like "ok. And then what? And what is it supposed to look like?" He couldn't figure out what was the issue with the dishwasher (no surprise there) so he basically left without doing anything. Today, some two weeks of waiting and dealing with Samsung BS later, Tekitron was supposed to come back out and actually ... fix the original issue. Well, they stood me up. No cancellation, no warning, no show. Tried calling them again but no one ever answers any of the phone numbers listed for Tekitron. Even Samsung can't get in touch with them. Basically, Samsung uses Tekitron to annoy customers to the point that they will give up and just pay a repair person to fix the problem. Samsung doesn't lose as much money if the customer gets impatient and frustrated enough to pay out of pocket for an actual repair place to do the work. Tekitron is a legal scam that Samsung supports and encourages. Samsung blames them for their incompetent practices while also not taking accountability for Samsung warranties. read more

This national(?) chain was recommended by the manufacturer to maintain my appliance. I like to get multiple opinions to make sure the problem is correctly determined as well as a reasonable price. The price they wanted just to come out to fault isolate was greater than the price another outfit quoted for the total labor and parts to fix the problem. Their policy appears to be to charge a lot up front and then give a credit toward the repair cost thus ensuring they get the job because the customer has so much invested. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. My fiance and I have a $3k Samsung smart refrigerator that came with our house. It had worked fine until all of the sudden the ice machine stopped producing ice. We contacted Samsung to report the problem and they sent a ticket to their subcontractor Tekniton. The technician that came to our house to fix the problem was actually quite nice and tried to fix the problem. Unfortunately he was not able to do so because he stated that "he had been given the wrong part." The same technician came back to the house a total of 4 times, causing us to change our busy work schedules mind you, only to repeat the same excuse and not get the job done. On the 5th attempt they finally fixed the ice machine with a different technician. Now during these 5 visits each time the technicians kept the doors open to the fridge during the entire time they tried to fix the ice machine. Shortly after they finally fixed the ice machine, our refrigerator stopped working. The temperature jumped from a usual 37° to 50° and was no longer keeping things cool. This caused all of our food to spoil and actually caused me to be sick from eating spoiled food I didn't realize had gone bad due to the refrigerator no longer working. I immediately called Samsung and explained what had happened and that at this point I needed to speak to a manager. Note: I've still yet to speak to a manager and we are now on day 4 as I'm writing this. The representative from Samsung tried to refer me back to the same company "Tekniton" even after I explained to them how poorly they had attempted to do their job. When I first called Samsung and they made a new ticket I explained to them that Tekniton had done a terrible job and that perhaps they could send someone else but I was told that unfortunately they were the only company they use in my area (San Francisco). Without having any options reluctantly agreed to have them come back and fix the problem. I was then told that they would get back to me that day or the next morning while I waited for the Samsung manager. I never heard from Tekniton and when I tried to call I got a message saying their box was full and I would need to try back later. I called the next day and still no answer, meanwhile they are supposed to contact me and I still have no fridge. I then call Samsung to explain the issues and see if there is finally a manager I could speak to. originally when they had made the ticket, I tried to call them directly and the woman who answered the phone was very rude and very unhelpful. I gave the Samsung representative the same information noting that they were rude. He still tried to make the call only to be confronted by the same rude unhelpful customer service representative who simply refused any responsibility and Would not even send out a technician unless we paid beforehand. I am now on day 4 without a fridge and am still waiting to hear back from Samsung upper management which I've been "reassured" will rectify the problem. I have always been a fan of Samsung and have purchased many of their products but this is very disheartening. This whole situation is ridiculous and blasphemous. Samsung should never do business with Tekniton if they'd like to keep their good name. As far as Tekniton as company is concerned... RUN!!!! I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and quality of service we received from this company. Our Samsung freezer decided it didn't like to be cold anymore after owning it less than a year. Samsung told us that Tekniton would be calling to set up an appointment. I was worried that it would take forever. They called right away, and the tech was working on the freezer the next day! He said they needed to order parts then they'd make another appointment. It took 4 whole days before he was here again and had it up and running! We were so happy! Their techs were really nice guys as an added bonus! They documented the process well, it was fully covered under warranty. And because they did document that it was faulty parts, we were able to get reimbursed for all the food spoilage from the manufacturer too! read more

Gave up on this company, filed a California Consumer Protection complaint. Tekniton was contracted thru Geek Squad to fix a major home appliance. They made 5 home visits and no-showed twice. Repair people who visited never had any idea what kind of problem my appliance was having, despite previous techs having left them reports. Replacement parts were ordered and never used, but left stacked in my home. I reached out to this company by email and phone, following failure to show. Another tech came and told us the part didn't even need to be replaced. Tekniton promised a refund (minus $100 for the service call) for the part we were forced to pay for, but we never got it. I followed up with Leslie Ramirez at Tekniton who kept saying she forwarded it to accounting, and later switched to needing confirmation from the owner John Shtir. After 9 months of following up every few months, Leslie Ramirez again told me to contact the the owner instead and then blocked my email address. John, the alleged owner, does not respond to emails. The Worst company to deal with. Tekniton has Terrible customer service. Called for service on Feb 17th and Was given an appointment for Feb 22nd in the AM. Two days before the appoinment I recieved a phone message about the appoitnment and to call them back which I did 3 mins. later only to be told that my appointment had been cancelled since they could not reach me. I said I just got your message and they said there is nothing they could do and that I would need to call Samsung back and get a new ticket. WHAT?? I explained that I had made serveral changes to my schedule in order to be home for the 22nd appointment. Sorry nothing we can do. Told manager not there but you can get a call back. I asked manager's name and was told Ben and she said was not allowed to give out last name. Samsung manager called me back and again he repeated they have no control over the service department that I will need to reschedule it. Called Tekniton three times before they finally answered. The agent knew exactly who I was when she answered and told me the first available was now Feburary 28th in the PM. She knew my name and the ticket number. When I asked why the other appointment was cancelled she said she did not know as I reached a big call center That is my first available and you will recieve a call prior. You mean like you did today and then have my appoitment cancelled? She said we have many tickets to handle in a day so everybody needs to calm down and not take it out on us and realize that we are doing the best we can. Maybe they need to hire more people????? I scheduled a service for the warranty on my washer because we've had it for less than a year. I contacted Midea the manufacturer who then referred me to Tekniton. The first experience was great! Got a call within one business day after talking to Midea, appointment was scheduled and in less than a week someone was here to service the machine. Hence, the 2 stars. Unfortunately they did not have the part and was unable to service the machine. I have been without a washer for 3 weeks now with a family of 4. I'm truly disappointed with Tekniton for the lack of communication and I will also be contacting Lowes to let them know that the product they are selling is costing more time getting help than washing clothes. SEMI-COMPETENT RUDE CROOKS will take your money for unnecessary repairs and then ignore your calls. Between initially misdiagnosing the problem with my refrigerator and then failing to ever find the problem they wasted hundreds of my dollars, 5 days when I had to stay to wait for them and their incompetence ultimately resulted in Samsung declaring my refrigerator broken beyond repair. Sadly, Samsung has only one approved vendor for warranty work in the Bay Area and they take advantage of this monopoly to provide poor customer service. Service operates awkwardly and no one answers the phone most of the time. Requests by voicemail for a return call are almost always ignored. Follow-up by the on-site supervisor never happens. Here's my story: Tekniton came to my house 5 times over 7 weeks and never fixed my refrigerator. They charged me almost $500 for a repair that turned out to not be the cause of my problem. They told me to call Samsung if I had a problem which I did. When Samsung intervened, Tekniton came out 4 more times until they designated my unit "unrepairable.". The second two times the technician they sent struggled with how to do the repair on my sealed system compressor. The fourth time they sent their "best guy" to repair what the other guy got wrong. They threw in the towel on the 5th attempt. As a result, Samsung basically advised me that they were done trying to fix my 6 year old $5,000 fridge and that I should throw it out. Now after all these blunders and terrible service, I asked if Tekniton could refund my money for the first repair which did not work. I was told that the repair might have been necessary even if it didn't fix the problem -- huh? I was told that someone would check the old part to make sure that it was defective to see if the repair was done in error. That never happened. They just stopped returning my phone calls. Then they were supposed to get back to me and tell me if the repair was under warranty (which it is) and the manager told their office girl to tell me that they won't be doing the repair because the unit is 6 years old. This was by far the worst repairman experience I ever had in my life to the point where I felt uncomfortable and uneasy/scared to be home alone. Johnny C. entered and was friendly. I briefly stated the problem that the fresh side of the fridge was too cold and then told him last night we had major flooding. Since we had flooding last night I had no time to update the work order. He said okay he'll look at it. Perhaps some of this was lost in translation as Russian is his first language. He was unsure what the cause of the problem was at first, and had to keep going outside to call his boss. Finally, he found the problem, gave me an estimate for repairs. The landlord approved it. He installed the new parts. All was fine. Then, he found the cause of the flooding. He told me he didn't have those parts because it wasn't on the work order. He called his boss and got more estimates. He came back and said we'd be charged for labor and service fee again. I said why should we when you don't have the right parts. He said because it wasn't on his service order. I called the landlord again, who said forget it. I told him he can take his parts back, but that's when he started getting angry with me, raising his voice and swearing. As a woman home alone, I was really distrubed by this. He said "what about my time???" I said sorry, we don't want the parts if it's a separate trip and more fees. And then he kept swearing a little, calmed down then took out the parts. He charged me for the site visit fee and didn't give me the paperwork. I went after him to get the paperwork once he was in his van in my driveway. On the way I noticed a huge scratch on the wall. I pointed it out to him and he said "this is fucking bullshit, this is fucking shit. Fuck this. Fuck, fuck. This isn't me. I didn't do this. Fuck fuck fuck," and so on. So maybe it's possible I never noticed this huge scratch before and he didn't cause it. Who knows. But the way he handled this was out of rage and anger. He took a picture. We have a problemed Samsung Dryer which is under warranty. Tekniton is the service agency for Samsung in our area. We scheduled the first appointment with Tekniton to repair our Samsung dryer which was not producing enough heat to dry the clothes. It was not repaired. A second appointment was made and the Tekniton technician came to repair the dryer. The dryer was still not repaired. He said that it may be a mother board problem or the dryer vent was clogged. We had a professional clean all vent outlets. This had no effect on the dryer not producing enough heat to dry the clothes. A third attempt is now under way with a Samsung service and Samsung has authorized service but Tekniton has yet to respond to set up an appointment to repair the dryer. Multiple attempts to speak to a Tekniton representative to schedule an appointment to repair the heating problem has been impossible. Calls are made where you wait for ten minutes and then they drop the call. I have not been able to speak to anyone at Tekniton because they now block my phone number. -Previously, a scheduled appointment with them was arbitrarily cancelled. Trying to make contact with them to reschedule has been impossible. It appears that Samsung does not respond to problems with their products. Their procedure appears designed to wear you down until you give up. Very dishonest people in my experience. read more
