The Brickyard has virtually any part or service you might need for a Bricklin. With approximately 5 Bricklins in various stages of repair/rebuild/refurbishment, they can handle anything from the most minor repairs to off the frame complete rebuild. Designed by Herb Grasse of Batmobile fame, these cars had a production run of about 13 months and made about 2900 cars. Model SV-1 came in 5 colors, and they all had acrylic body panels with gull-wing doors. Ride, handling, performance & size closely matched the Chevrolet Corvette of that era. With a full frame and built-in roll cage, this car was definitely ahead of it's time. It would be several years before another gull-wing car (Delorean) would be produced, and likewise for the acrylic paneled Saturn cars. A testament to the brand is that there are over 1500 still in existence today. My Bricklin is in good shape mechanically, but it needs some body work after having been in Texas for decades. That Texas sun, along with natural aging, tends to put cosmetic cracks in the body panels. I found Bob's Brickyard easily capable of handling the task at hand.

Took my sons Buick to their shop with a antifreeze leak. I told the shop where the leak was. The…read moremechanic pressure tested for the leak even though it leaked without Pressure needed. The mechanic called my house and said the car was junk and it would cost around a thousand dollars to fix. How he determined the cost for repair i don't know because he did not even know what the problem was. I went to the shop and tried to tell the mechanic the part that was bad but he would not listen. They wanted to charge $80.00 but backed off when i asked for what. They then backed off, gave me the keys and told me to leave. I took the car to another local shop near by and told them the problem and the part involved. They said that it was a common problem with this model car. They took it right in and replaced the part with an upgraded one. I also had them do a oil and filter change. Total bill was just a few dollars over $300.00. the car has been running great with no leaks. This was not the first time I had issues with this shop, but it will be the last.

On the third day they called me to say they "checked all my work" and confirmed that wasn't the issue so they replaced the fuel injector... but the check engine light was still on. They said they weren't engine experts and recommended I take it to a Ford dealership (or some other place they knows engines). Since I asked them to change my oil when I dropped it off, they did that (too). After all that.... They charged me over $800!!!!!!! My advice stay clear of this place. Because my first experience was so good with this shop, I took it in a second time for a tune up. Very honest mechanic which is hard to come by sometimes. Reading other reviews I see I'm not the only one that they were dishonest by trying to sell me services that were not needed. When confronted the story changed to preventative maintenance. When dropping the car off I went threw it making sure nothing valuable was left behind. I had $8.00 in a makeup bag in the console. I left it thinking no one is going to touch that and it's only $8.00. I was wrong. The money was gone.
