What I especially liked is how Kevin, the owner, double checked whether the old unit could be repaired, provided two quotes (standard and high efficiency), and installed the new Bryant unit. There is no separate sales and installation teams. It was clean, eventless, and done in 4 hours. Another co, recommended by ConsEnergy, gave a quote that was more for a standard unit. The second, smaller 22-year-old AC died the next day!! And what was really amazing is how they sent over Josh within an hour of my text to diagnose and fix that one!! Seriously stellar service. I used the project quote function on Yelp to snag some pricing and info from local plumbers. In chatting with Al over yelp, he had me send some pictures and gave me a general idea of pricing. Unfortunately for me, my setup is non-compliant with current code specs. Fortunately for me, Al was able to come check it out in person the next day. He was then able to get back to me and upgrade my system, install a new water heater, and take the old one out... all within 72 hours of my original request. Some of the larger companies in the area were a week or more out before even willing to come give me an estimate. Can't say enough positive things about Breyer's. He even made sure that our A/C, furnace and blower were all set up correctly. I called around 10 HVAC companies to compare service charges. Several places will not reveal their hourly rates which scared me. Air Comfort Pro charged $80 to come out on the service call. This price is about average. However their hourly service rate is only $30, and their charge for freon is only $25 per pound. That is less than half all the other places I called! Happy to support an Allen Park resident too.

Long story short he isn't even worth $100: till he takes the training and learns what the job entails. He used the Silver tape to connect the square metal extentions to the furnaces. The electrical wires were just slewn here or there. The switch was almost covered over making it hard to get to. The ducts were 1st not even cleaned out; plaster, dirt & dust was all in the venting system. The ducts were not even sealed to enclose the air. It reminded me of two kids who were in practical training with their uncle who "thought" because they helped him do drywall jobs they knew what they were doing. Using 4 inch nails to hammer a piece of drywall 12" x 32" in place. Even after getting electricity they furnaces didnt work. That was two years ago. Dont know what he has been up to since. I called at 8am the next day to schedule an appointment, and they called me back around 9:30, and were able to give me a 12-3pm time slot. The night before was HOT, with highs of 88 in Michigan and my A/C not working, so I was glad they were able to fit me in the day of. Turned out that my A/C unit, although it's a newer model, had holes in it, and they were able to patch those up and fix my A/C for me, in about an hour and a half. The workmen were cordial, as well, and wore booties in my house, which I appreciated. I would use Tropic Air again if any A/C problems came up for me (though fingers crossed that they do not!).

I thought they should be able to diagnose better than a guess. I called Crain and they were out to the house the next day. They plugged in a tester and informed me that it was the motor control module that was bad. The cost to repair was $1200.00 and the system was 18 years old. I elected to have a complete system (furnace and AC) installed. Crain was there the next day and did a complete install in one day. There was some miscommunication about Lennox financing but that issue falls to Lennox rather than Crain. Workers were prompt and courteous. They covered my basement carpet with a tarp and even covered my wood flooring steps with a tarp trying to be overly cautious of my home. I thought the tarp on the steps was dangerous for them but that's what they did. I don't believe the cost of the system was out of line. Prompt service, good pricing, courteous workers, steps taken to protect my home, and the install went smoothly. Not sure what more you could ask for. There is always someone who will find fault with some minuscule detail but they did a good job for me. The most important question, Would I recommend this company to you. Answer, Yes. I was pleased with their service and would like to use them in the future.

They did not even take payment before I am happy. They were not the cheapest. But their quote was much better than most other companies in the area.
