There are multiple areas to go and either hike, or hang out. Benches. A good parking lot. The small hike to the top of the canyon is gorgeous. Only about 15-20 minutes and the views are great. They have working bathrooms that aren't gross. It's not an extraordinary or fancy park or anything, but it's the perfect place to just be in nature. I'm looking forward to going back! Only bummer is it looks like there was a nature center that's been closed since 2023. It looked like it would've been cool. Same with the amphitheater.

Once you get there, it feels quiet and relaxing, almost like you're not in LA anymore. There are a lot of trails depending on what kind of walk you want, plus many picnic tables if you want to bring food and spend a few hours there. The main lake is beautiful, but my favorite part is the smaller pond with turtles, ducks, and huge koi fish. The animals are very used to people and come pretty close, which makes it really fun to watch. If you walk higher up near the fire station, the views are amazing. There's also an amphitheater and a small museum area that I still want to visit next time Everything feels clean and well maintained, including the restrooms, and they even have water for dogs if you come with your pet. Overall, it's just a really peaceful place with a calming atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you want a little nature escape without driving too far from the city.

This is my first time back on the trails in Palisades after the devastating fires. As you drive to…read morethis trails you will see the redevelopment of the city but construction is at it's beginning stages.. The city looks like a war zone. The sounds of redevelopment are echoed throughout the mountains as well as the views of the city reminds you of the fires. On the positive side there is new plants and flowers blooming along the trails, a sign of new beginnings. This hike is classified as difficult. The hike is all uphill as you climb the mountain over 1800feet to reach the benches with a beautiful view on a clear day. Note early mornings in the summer you'll most likely experience clouds and potentially fog. On hot summer day this may be a welcome relief as the trail is no longer shaded after the fires. The hike to the benches and back to the trailhead is approximately 7.5 miles. We started our hike as 7am and there were only a few people on the trail, but by time we returned st 9ish a lot of people were starting. At the trailhead there is street parking. There are two parking lots as well but bring occupied by workers' trailers. Enjoy your hike! Happy trails!

Beautiful hike! You can't beat the views!…read more I wanted to check Corral Canyon for a while in Malibu and went recently for my birthday. We parked on the PCH passed Malibu Seafood (watch where you park, cops are serious in this area, they were hunting to give tickets to people when we went!). We walked into Malibu Seafood parking lot, there is a sign and you start a hike. You can check various trails, we stayed on the main path, which is tight and there is vegetation on both sides, so long pants are important as is sunscreen and water due to lack of shade. There weren't too many people, the views are incredible, the Pacific ocean shines in the horizon and Malibu coastline is gorgeous. We saw a few hawks flying above. We stayed on the trail, the chimney comes up fast, then kept going for a while and we did take a left at the fork and the views got better and better! Whatever trail you take, you won't get lost since this is a loop. Around 2 miles hike, not easy, but not strenuous, I'd call it moderate, good exercise, but not too hard. I can't take the images of the view out of my head. I'd do the hike it again in a heartbeat! It was a great way to spend my birthday! And of coursed we rewarded ourselves at Malibu Seafood with a nice meal since this b-day girl deserved it with the hike and all!

We came recently during Covid, and there's definitely a warning sign to wear masks. At some part might be hard with a mask when you're going up incline so don't forget your water and water for your pooch! Although the parking lot is not that big, there were plenty of space at 8:30am. Parking is $12 and the machine dose take credit cards. This loop took a bit longer than we thought because we kept stopping for photo-ops and had to let couple families pass us. Towards the end of the loop, there's a short cut to go back down to the beginning but it's pretty steep so just be-careful. Right now in the summer all the plants are mostly dried up and dead. Hopefully we can make it back next Spring to see all the flowers. The ocean view is always fantastic, air is breezy, and it doesn't hurt the trail starts and ends at Malibu Seafood Cafe either! We were the 3rd in line at 10:30am and the restaurant opens at 11am. The parking lot by then was quite full too so come early!

For people who are looking to avoid the crowds from Santa Monica pier and from the Venice Muscle beach area and just enjoy some time on the sand with gorgeous ocean views, this is the spot! There are plenty of $10 parking lots and even some parallel parking spots one street up if you're lucky. This part of the beach is very heavily trafficked by bikes and electric scooters going between Santa Monica and Venice, so walk with caution.

It is easy to get to and near places you might want to go or already be at. It is right near Malibu and close to Brentwood and the West Side of LA. Parking is easy for a fee. It is not at all crowded on the weekdays, but can get a little congested on the weekends. There are very few staff type people to help you so make sure you have water and can walk, sometimes on rough trails. You can camp there over night, but there are no facilities at all. None. You pack in and pack out. Most people go there just to walk or hike. In the parking area there is a bathroom and a drinking fountain. There is also a nice set of picnic tables for lunch. If you walk far enough you can see the ocean and it is a lovely view. There are also wonderful wild flowers, little critters and great hills to see. It is part of the Santa Monica Mountains. There are about 36 miles of trails through open grassland. It is beautiful. Mountain bikes are allowed but only on fire trails and people will not be happy to see you. We have had fires, a lot, lately (I am writing in Sept of 2024), now none of been here, but there is really bad air right now and it is hot so keep that in mind. If you are healthy you will be fine. If not, maybe wait to take a long hike after fire season is over in late October. Outside the park is the little town of Topanga, you will pass it on your way. There are places to eat there and a few shops. It is very nice. It is a great place to go for a long hike or a short walk. Have a great time and pick up after yourself.
