I got went to a top denture. The temporary denture never was fitted correctly. I suffered till it was time for permanent. They bill unethically by charging a denture like cosmetics, then when I complained no one responded. I was I never trusted them. read more

The office staff is professional, kind, and prompt when I've called to request appointments and documents. The hygienist assigned to me was fairly gentle. When it came time for fillings and crowns, Dr. Szeto was kind, patient and gentle as well. He explains exactly what I will be experiencing as he works, but before I feel him do anything. He always seems to be taking his time with my visits and is never rushed. Additionally, shortly after moving to Tempe, I had a cleaning and exam at another dentist who sent a free cleaning flyer to my apartment. Tempe Dental Care's treatment plan was identical to what the other place suggested, but about $1,500 less. And the Tempe Dental Care offices are just as fancy as the other place. read more

CLEAN, COURTEOUS, HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL! So glad I was reffered to this dental office. I had gone to a different dental office two weeks earlier and was told I needed so much work done and my share would be a little over a thousand after my insurance paid their share. I decided to get a 2nd opinion and am delighted that I did. To begin with, when arriving parking was easy. The lobby and patient rooms were very well lighted and CLEAN! The staff are friendly. When it was time to go over my xrays, Dr. Jeff sat down with me and explained in detail. After my consultation all I needed was just a cleaning and my insurance did cover 100% as told other wise at a different dental office I visited a couple weeks prior. Dr. Betsworth did a great job at explaining the procedure that needed to be done for my tooth. I was a little worried in the beginning and he calmed my nerves by explaining what would be happening and what the outcome would be to myself and then also on the phone to my mom. The location was perfect, close to home and the atmosphere was great, clean, and they offered water, tea, and coffee. If you have kids there are games and things to keep them occupied as well while they wait. Just make sure you have them double check what your insurance covers before paying anything out of pocket, especially if you know you should be fully covered. A completely different experience now than it was a year ago. A year ago we had started the process of pulling all my husbands teeth and getting a upper and bottom denture. At that time, we were told he would need to be off blood thinners for 3 days. I confirmed with his vascular surgeon and that was okay. Due to personal reasons we had to postpone his surgery. Fast forward, one year. The dental assistant wasnt very nice to my husband on the day of his appointment. He said she just had a bad attitude. We were told he needed to be off blood thinners for 7 days. We called vascular surgeon and surgeon said no, that's to long. I called the office to see what they suggested and was told, "We cant do it." I didnt get to talk to an assistant, the dentist, nothing. I'm heartbroken. Everyone deserves a happy smile. We spent so much money coming from 3 hours away from the office. When I checked the American Dental Association it looks like because a blood thinner is a life saving medication, it's best for a medical doctor to make the recommendation and then the dentist follows that recommendation. Please, please, please reach out to your prescribing doctor of blood thinners before stopping them. Add in, a blood thinner shouldn't make my husband any less of a patient. I'm sure you are happy that you lost us as patients, but a year ago we were so happy with your practice and everyone who worked there. I just dont understand. read more

Do you like spending hundreds of dollars paying multiple people to put their fingers in your mouth and move stuff around? Are you the kind of person that enjoys the sound of a drill on your teeth or the teeth of others? Do you like that small, irrational panic that comes from the fear that you might drown when the hygienist sprays you in the mouth with that tiny water hose thingy? Does the smell and feel of your own teeth/fake teeth being dremeled give you an overwhelming sense of joy? Does staying as still as you possibly can as a stranger puts a giant lead coat on you while you clasp onto a mouth guard thingy and said stranger takes a picture of you sound appealing? OF COURSE NOT. NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE AWESOME. Nobody likes going to the dentist. If anyone tells you they like going to the dentist, they are a d*mn dirty liar. Before I went to Tempe Dental Care, I had two traumatic experiences as a child: One of them was a horribly violent root canal by some mean *ssh*le with stank breath, the second one was a creepy old pedophile dude who said, "you like to watch, don't you," when I was a kid. After those two experiences, I decided I didn't need the dentist anymore. Howeva! The first time I went to Tempe Dental Care, it was close to 10 years ago. Maybe 8 years. I don't remember. Dentists freak me out, why would I try to remember that? Anyway, I had my wisdom teeth taken out here, and even though I was supposedly a grown-*ss adult, I asked if I could keep them...AND THEY LET ME. I still have them. Don't ask me why. The dentist was so nice and communicative throughout the process and the sidekick lady who assisted at the time was so caring, that even though I walked out with a mouth full of gauze, drooling blood out of the sides of my mouth, grasping onto a tiny blue box of wisdom teeth with a creepy smile on my face, I decided I might just give this dentist thing a chance again. Which is the exact reason I keep coming back - the people. I feel like I keep getting tricked into coming here by all the nice people. It's like someone keeps telling me I'm going to Disneyland, I get in the car, and they take me to the dentist. The people that work here are nicer than my family, which is why I go to Tempe Dental Care twice a year and reserve family visits for almost never. Heather is the hygienist who makes sure I don't drown when she cleans my teeth twice a year, and Jeff Ward is the dentist dude who takes my teeth out and replaces them with newer, better teeth (I had a crown put in today, ha). Anthony was the dentist's sidekick on this most recent visit and he was the bomb - dot - com. TL;DR version: this place is awesome. read more

Tempe Dental Care did a fantastic job on what was no small order: do 5 years worth of work in an afternoon. I've had a near-crippling fear of the dentist for years now, so I needed some place that took my insurance and provided sedation. Sedation is supposed to be a "conscious sedation"; out of it, but awake. This was not the case. I took my pills, sat for 15 minutes, mused about how I was starting to see double and woke up six hours later on my couch. This is how serious dental work should be done. Dr. Ward extracted my wisdom teeth (which were in bad shape, though fully formed and not impacted at all) and performed four fillings. I also had the deep gum cleaning done, which I assure you is an unpleasant experience if you are awake for it: if you can avoid it with good dental hygiene, do that instead. Seriously. (It was also nearly $850, so let's just say this trip maxed out my meager dental insurance allowance.) The sedation bit is absolutely fantastic. I was worried that since I was just taking a few pills, it might not be effective (I'm large) or that I might still be awake throughout and remember it. None of that was true. I was good and knocked out (and apparently "belligerent") and I don't remember ANYTHING about the procedure. Seriously, anything at all. Think about that if you've ever had an awful bit of dental work, mouth open, drill whirring, needles probing, all the awful stuff I associate with dentistry: gone. I did have a ton of pain after the fact, but welcome to getting your wisdom teeth extracted at 26. Fortunately, Dr. Ward refilled my painkillers, no problem, and after one refill and a few extra days on Ibuprofen & Acetaminophen, I feel just great. Dr. Ward warned me (and my handler, since I was mostly gone) that my bite would need to be fixed after the fact, since I wasn't lucid enough to provide feedback. He was right about this; chewing when only two teeth contact is an uphill battle. But he took care of it in about 5 minutes and even moved up the follow-up appointment to make sure that we got that knocked out as soon as possible. When I discovered that one of my fillings was a bit rough, a few days later, they had me in the next day and filed it down in about 5 minutes as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they worked with me a bit to get the costs down. (I did shop around a bit and determined that everything was in line with normal; of course they were charging the health insurance-agreed rates anyway, so no surprise there.) Overall, VERY happy with my experience here, and focused on making sure I don't have to come back for anything but my regular cleanings. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in a loonnnng time, mainly because of mental issues regarding said profession as well as not having a clue where to go for dental services. I'm a believer in word of mouth promotion, and so when I saw TDC on Yelp, I figured I would give it a try. Long story short, I went in for a look at my wisdom teeth. I had to have 3 removed. They explained my costs upfront and how everything would work. Dr. Ward was professional and courteous, and even called the day after to check up on me. Had no pain in the surgery (hooray sedation!) and I recovered well. All this at their temporary location. I will be back, and recommending them to friends. read more

I had a fantastic experience with both my cleaning and getting a couple of cavities filled in the last month. I had to go in 2 separate times and experience was consistent. The front desk staff welcomes you and their waiting room is really second to none. Very spacious and the two times I went, I never had to sit next to someone else because of limited space like most waiting rooms. The whole office is very modern and very clean. It's physically a place you want to do business with and have them work on your mouth/teeth. The hygienists and dentist that helped me both times were very professional and provided awesome care. They made sure I was never in pain throughout the entire process and if I was, they would numb me more. If all that wasn't enough, they have TVs hanging from the ceilings hooked up to DirecTV for you to watch whatever you want. It makes it easy to not focus on them working on your teeth!!! I cannot say enough positive words about this dental office. First off the staff is extremely friendly, from the front desk down to the dentist. Never have a been to a dental office where everyone seemed so happy to be there and see you. For the office being new, looked like state of the art everything, they had great prices as well for the out of pocket-ers. I was in a time crunch and a sensitive situation, went to two other places for quotes and timelines and all of them were crazy. Tempe Dental Care took care of everything in literally one week. I've been to quite a few dental offices around the East Valley and this one is at the top. The first thing I noticed was how CLEAN everything is, from the walls to the floors it was all spotless, exactly what you want at a health professionals office. There was even an gaming system in the lobby that my 9 year old took full advantage of while I was having my work done. I was even offered a warm blanket and pillow while i was getting my fillings to make everything more comfortable. All of the staff are super friendly and check out was fast. They must submit claims the same day because I got my bill within a week, which is really nice, some places aren't this speedy! Dr. Ward is very personable and genuinely cares about his patients, I live in Gilbert and will gladly make the drive to Tempe, it's worth it! read more

They screwed up my insurance and were trying to charge me 5x what I usually pay. The woman handling the insurance seems perpetually angry. Went back a second time for the cleaning after the insurance debacle. Was left waiting for half an hour. Finally left. Steer clear of this house of horrors. read more

I went here after bad experience with another dentist and hey have been so nice and helpful. Sheena was one of the gals that helped me today, and, she has some nice teeth! I am getting a partial bridge, which was not even offered by the previous dentist, who just wanted my money. I chose this dentist because of the great reviews. I waited 2 minutes to get in my appointment. The staff is friendly and sends me text reminders, which I love that extra help. I was very fearful and they helped with assuring me and good pricing, I love this place and they are fast too, because they have their own labs! Dr. Szeto was very informative and caring with both of my kids. We just relocated to the area and needed a new dentist. Plus they are very conveniently located and it's a few minutes away from my home. My child Liam, needed major dental work for the first time ever, and he was not scared at all. He is not even afraid to go back to finish his dental work which is amazing! The time they specified to complete the work, was completely accurate also, which I appreciated because I could plan my day accordingly. The entire staff is super friendly. I have had a bad run with dentists... It starting with a facial injury when I was a teenager that resulted in numerous broken teeth and extensive dental work with a terribly painful root canal. In addition to that, a couple of years ago I had a couple of deep cavities that my former dentist was filling after I had an implant replaced when the numbing medication started to wear off during the procedure. After numerous attempts by the dentist to administer more injections to numb my mouth it was ultimately ineffective and I had to complete the procedure feeling nearly everything. To this day I have nightmares of that episode. Recently I developed a very intense toothache after one of the fillings the previous dentist did came out. With my previous nightmare experiences with dentists I sought out solutions to the anxiety I had dealing with dental care and stumbled upon sedation dentistry which lead me here. All of the staff put me at ease, Dr. Ward was to the point about what needed to be done with multiple solutions to meet my insurance coverage (should say limitations) and manage the overall cost and the appointment was set. I arrived for my appointment to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed, 2 more extractions and a root canal/crown done with a cleaning on top. It was a massive amount of dental work and honestly it feels the same as simple fillings have in the past. Best part about it was the only thing I remember was a slight sting on my arm when the IV was inserted. read more

I went to this office for a cracked back tooth and it was my first time. They told me what work was needed and gave me an estimate that including what my insurance Delta Dental would cover. Then I was billed and found that over $300 of what they said insurance would cover Delta declined saying they never cover that service. My current dentist informed me the service performed was not typical for back teeth and why Delta didn't cover it. Seems the benefit of the service was to increase the billing. After discussing with the billing department their inaccurate assertions about my insurance coverage and work performed they agreed to remove the charge and I paid balance in full. This was in 2016 and recently I found that Tempe Dental Care turned over the amount they agreed to discount my bill by to a collection agency. What an unethical business practice to agree to discount a balance due, due to their own inaccuracies, and then turn the discounted amount to a collection agency. read more
