Hubby & I had dinner here last night. I'm not sure why, but we were both thinking it was inside a mall, but it's a free standing building. When you walk in there is someone asking if you've been there before. When we said no, he told us to find a seat where ever we wanted, & we could order from the QR code on the table. Luckily, we had checked out the menu & how things somewhat work, so we already knew what we wanted to order. There is a station with cups & cold water, plastic silverware, napkins, & condiments. You just take whatever you want. Hubby got a beer from the beer wall. I got a sangria. The picture on the menu shows white sangria, but to my pleasure it was red. It was a little on the sweet side. We ordered the pretzels & beer cheese from Pastiazza, wings from Chow Down AZ, & a fish sandwich from Fish Pop. They bring the food out as is ready. The fish sandwich comes with fries. It was really good. It had 2 fish pieces plus another small piece. It was hot, super flaky & good. The fires were good. We both really liked the sandwich. Hubby loved the wings. They were crispy, rendered & juicy. The pretzel bites were okay, but nothing special. The cheese looked like nacho cheese, but it wasn't. It was good. I wouldn't get the pretzels again. I really like that you could order from either a QR code or from a kiosk at the front and then you could order from all of the different stalls at once. This made it really easy if you wanted to try things from different places. My favorite was random AF the birria is so good here! Especially the grilled cheese, so cheesy and delicious. I also really loved the fish pop, fish and chips. It was crispy and perfectly seasoned. We had been here before and liked the concept, but then we learned soon after that it was closing. Fast forward and Tempe Eats is reopened and it looks to be thriving! This is a good haul with several different "restaurants." There is one big menu with a different section for each food stall. There is Mexican, soul food, Asian, fried fish, Italian, and more. There is also a full bar and a beer tap wall for the beer lovers. You scan the QR code on the table and then order and pay at your table. Easy peasy George and Weezy! We ordered: *Beef yakisoba *Birria Grilled Cheese *Dozen Hot Wings *Peach Cobbler Hubby said the yakisoba was good--just the standard yakisoba, still good. The portion size was really big. The wing sauce was really good--not too vinegary and the perfect amount of heart. V they came out hot and fresh. Delicious! The Birria Grilled Cheese s AMAZING! It came with a yummy consomme for dipping. The need was crispy and it was packed with Birria. So f***** delicious! When the gentleman brought out my wings, her brought a complimentary peach cobbler. Tried tempe eats recently and thought the concept was really cool. Feels like a mini food hall/food court with multiple options, and I liked how you can order from the QR code at the table. We sat at the bar and the bartender offered to start our tab and take our order directly. He was the only one working there at first so service felt a little slow as he was handling drinks for everyone else. People were also coming up to the bar to order. After waiting awhile we were going to just order off the QR code instead. Bartender said he could still take our order and got a co worker to help. The orignal fish and chips was good. My boyfriend liked the wings. The veggie roll surprisingly took the longest to come out. A staff member went to go check up on it for us and was gone for some time. It was good. Not the best Ive ever had. Just funny that the veggie roll ended up taking the longest out of everything. I liked how they had games at the table like connect four. We had family in town and have been wanting to try Fish pop since we have been following them on IG for awhile. The vibe in the restaurant is great very open, big bar, beer wall. However I will say the ordering system from your phone is awful. They need to invest in a better more organized set up. They have all the Restaurants clumped into one giant list. It was so confusing and it took forever to even find the alcohol drinks. We ended up just going up to the bar. When it got to checking out our cards were all declining and we clearly had money it was a system glitch. It took us a good 25 min to get our food ordered. I also think it would be a great idea for someone to greet you when you walk in and explain the ordering process not just point to the QR codes. We enjoyed the spicy fish and chips and the tartar sauce was so good! I didn't take a picture of it but we got a soul food plate it was fried chicken wings, candied yams, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. It was great and my 11 month old tore that plate up! Came here to try "chow down". Interesting set up here. You sit at a table, you scan the QR code, then you can order from the many different restaurants offered here. I chose "chow down" because I wanted the oxtails. No complaints the oxtails were delicious and tender. they brought the food out to the table pretty quick. My dad had the cod and fries. He said it was good and fresh (Came with a side of cold peas that we did not eat.) we ordered drinks from the bar. Strong, but not that delicious. I was not impressed with the desserts. We had the banana pudding, which was OK. But absolutely never ever what I recommend the jar dessert "muncheese". I had strawberry cheesecake and we ended up throwing it away. Spicy fish and chips - fantastic, only slightly spicy but not weak. The tartar sauce was incredible, and my favorite so far. Fries were alright, nothing special but not bad. BBQ pulled pork nachos - wow. The waffle fries were heavily seasoned in the best way, and I couldn't be happier. This was enough to feed two, and even the leftovers were tasty. Highly recommend, and you get to choose the meat as well (I went with pulled pork). They give you quite a bit of meat too. Margs - nothing special but not bad. Can't beat $3 though. Our bartender was so sweet, and she helped us pick some food and navigate the restaurant. You sit anywhere you'd like, scan the QR code, and order from a culmination of multiple restaurants, like a food court. They have a bar, and also a tap wall where you can fill your own beer! They have to discern between orders and try to give you a run down of your food should you ask. Kinda sucks actually. You should leave them a tip. Some of the things we ordered were good and some were not. I felt like everything was reasonably priced. The Eats gives you plenty of variety to choose from. I should've checked Yelp instead of listening to my girl's social media influencers hyping this place up. Tempe Eats looked promising based on the photos and online buzz, but the actual food was extremely underwhelming. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy that's heavily advertised with pictures when you walk into the restaurant, and what came out looked nothing like what was being marketed. The sandwich was served on what tasted like a basic bagged Italian roll, there was no real "special sauce" besides straight cocktail sauce, and overall it just felt cheap and thrown together. Definitely not worth the $20 price tag. Honestly, I'd be embarrassed serving that as an owner. Random AF Taqueria was also disappointing. The smash burger was mediocre at best, and the waffle fries were way overcooked. I like crispy fries as much as anyone, but these crossed the line into hard and burnt. The strawberry horchata was a banger though. The positives: the strawberry horchata was excellent, the banana pudding was actually really good (and was given to us on the house after the disappointing meal), and the atmosphere/service were solid. Sports were playing on the TVs which made it a decent environment to hang out in, and the woman working the front counter was awesome -- friendly, attentive, and easily the best part of the experience. It's a unique dining experience in that it is a standalone food court building with a single POS system that supports the multiple counter service only restaurants with a central bar and a wall of self-service beer taps. Little confused about the low ratings, but here's my experience--- Tempe Eats has a cool concept imo-- there a bunch of different places to eat in one area ( think of an upgraded food court ) and the facility it self sells alcohol, has tv's for games. They have all these taps for beer, I haven't had a chance to check that out yet. Each time I have eaten there I was warmly greeted, and the staff at TE explains how everything works. They also check on you and help if you need assistance. This works out great if someone in your group doesn't eat a certain type of food and you can get some beers or whatever to drink. Chix and Fish pop ( restaurants at TE ) are worth the drive alone. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

Food halls offer diverse & unique offerings. This is a fantastic opportunity a start-up "if you will" for local vendors to get their products out there & grow their restaurant business. We wanted to come experience & explore the options under one roof! This is a communal dining experience with a mix of fast-casual and chef-driven concepts. Greeted right when we came in. At the time we arrived, not ALL shops were open. However, we were intrigued about one shop in particular that we had seen on Tik Tok, so was happy to see that they were active. Chikpop was our choice. First item selected was from their Fishpop: Spicy Buttered Fish & Chips. The other two were- The Maple Truffle Sando and the Hot Honey Sando. Everything was excellent & worth the price as far as portions! I've never gotten a chicken sandwich this big in my life! LOL We split the chicken sandwiches, so we could sample both. I can do hot, but that hot honey was too much for my tastebuds! The Maple was extremely sweet & could have used a little heat, but overall the flavor of the breaded chicken was very good yet a tad bit over cooked with a darker texture and harder crunch. The slaw was interesting. The color was as well. I'd maybe do less of that or non at all, as it seemed to make the sandwich bread soggy and difficult to manage. The Fish & Chips were on point and devoured quickly. This is an order at "whatever" counter you choose, pay and take your receipt which has a number that will be called when your meal is ready. Make sure to hang onto that sales slip to reference your order! Ours took a little bit... Note- inside there is a good size bar. They carry Arizona's largest self-serve beer wall (42 on tap) which you'll be certain to find the perfect pairing within the eatery. Would have been nice to know what some of the other places were contributing to the food hall? That said, it gives us a great excuse to come back! read more

We came here on a Monday night at 7:03. After ordering our food I started to wonder if it was a mistake coming here. Four others before us seemed to have been waiting forever on food or their food orders were wrong. One of the employees I heard her say "Sorry it's a case of the Monday." Gianna greeted us and was so friendly - she explained all the different food stalls and helped us make our decision. We opted to try a little bit from a few of the stalls and loved it all. We came here to try the Fishpop popup which is here from 6/1-6/30. Saw people lined up at the window so I got in line there as well. We got there at a good time because the line got even longer afterwards. They have original flavor or spicy flavor fried fish for $22 each. I ordered 2 spicy. Comes with fries, peas, and a dill tartar sauce. Payments accepted at this window are cash, Zelle or Venmo. If ordering from the front register, you can use card. My friend ordered 2 pastas from the Creole Bowls place. I also ordered a whiskey mule. The fried fish was golden and crispy. Perfectly fried. The piece I ate wasn't spicy or salty but my friends said theirs was salty. Fries and peas were good. I really liked the sauce! Can't remember the name of the pasta but it was some seafood buttery pasta. I had a few bites of it but I prefer red sauce so to me, it was okay. Not bad. Everything was solid and well prepared, even if the standout factor was really the format rather than the food itself. There's also a bar on site and a soda vending area. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful in walking us through the ordering process, which made navigating this unique setup easy. I'm going to do two reviews; one is for the overall hall & bar and the second will be for the pop-up restaurant that brought us here in the beginning. So we had no idea this place existed until we saw a story on the news about the Fishpop pop-up currently housed here. Located in a larger building at the corner of Mill and Baseline, the concept includes a few different restaurants and a pretty good-sized bar concept. There appears to be a few standard restaurants here including Yogi's Grill, which we were familiar with from the malls. Also there was a Cajun place (Cajan Breakfast Joint), Fork Off, Seafood Boil, and Creole Bowls to Go. The birria tacos at Fork Off looked delicious and we will be back to try those for sure. The bar was well stocked with a dedicated bar tender taking and making orders. The overall space was clean and well-kept and there were two women who were helping to keep things up as well as assist customers as needed. They offer events like brunches with music, happy hours, family events, etc. And it appears that you can also rent the venue for your own parties. Creative idea for sure! read more

This was an interesting experience. Let me start with what was good. Lemon pepper wings delicious, asian fries were awesome, chicken teriyaki bowl, cat fish platter . Listen, I don't like catfish, but I tried a piece from my son's plate, and it was everything. The flavor reminded me of some good southern cooking. Now, the POS system is not a hit for me. You can a QR code, order from app, they will bring out your cups and food when it is done. Then there was an ask for a tip. For what? Took a drive to Tempe Eats in Tempe. Tried two spots: ChowDown Az had the Oxtails with yellow rice, Collard greens, Corn bread & had to try the Banana pudding, Amaaaazing!!!!! Will definitely be going back for the Oxtails FishPop, had the Spicy fish which comes with fries and greens beans. Both spots were great! I was relatively impressed with how clean and comfortable the location was. Big televisions everywhere, good music. The location had a nice vibe. Booths were large. The service and ordering system is where they fell down. The servers seemed relatively disinterested, and the ordering system was an absolute nightmare. They need to invest in software with a better user experience if they're going to thrive. Fishpop's fish and chips were good, and Random AF's vampire tacos were pretty good as well. Well we got suckered to make the drive from Gilbert to check this place out off of TikTok and let me say--it was disappointing. As a whole for Tempe Eats--it's an interesting concept especially nestled in a college neighborhood but it was disappointing. We came out on a Sunday and it was slow. Maybe a handful of people. The service was extremely slow. It took us 20 mins and soggy soda cups to finally get our food. We came to check out Fish Pop and grab some beers but all the beers on tap from the video we seen--welp the tap was all down and out of order. Very disappointing. The video made it seem bigger--it's not but also not working. I got the spicy fish--really good. Had some flavor. Not hot at all. The fries and fish were very crispy which I loved. I would rate my meal 7/10. The fiancé got the standard fish and chips--he rated his meal a 5/10 because the fish didn't have any flavor. He said the best part of his meal were his fries. We are both intended to have some drinks and since the tap was out--we would have ordered cocktails but the menu gave us college student selection.
