Wasn't the experience I hoped it would be. Lots of guessing of what my health issues could be. Doctor seems disassociated with what was going on with me. Even when I mentioned I am struggling with my mental health when I contacted her, she didn't response until ten days later. After I said I was leaving to see another doctor, there was no follow up or check in as to why or anyone asking if anything happened. read more

My wife had an appointment and had to reschedule. No reminder, but the front desk called the day before the appointment. No problem. Never received the confirmation, no email or phone call. They charged her $140.00 for a no show appointment. Called to complain and they say her email returned their reminders and that calling is a courtesy? But taking my money is also a courtesy I guess. They also lied and said that my wife cancelled her appointment three times. Times are hard with covid. But that just means customer services should be that much more of a focus. Tummy Temple has lost a client. I'm sorry that taking our money is more than being professional and understanding in a difficult time for us all. Enjoy the money, he'll buy the team lunch? If you decide to go to this place, be careful. Maybe they are good? Maybe they are even great at what they do. We will never know because due to their lack of professionalism we will never get the chance to answer that question. UPDATE April 18, 2019: SHOUT OUTS FOR CATHERINE + LAUREN Here is my promised update on certain information re: the Tummy Temple. As stated in my original review, I could not remember the names of those who performed my ELT (Electro Lymphatic Therapy). Their names are Catherine and Lauren. As reported before, both were great people to work with! ELT IS NOW DLT But now, ELT has been renamed "Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy" (DLT), since I was last there in December 2017. Thank you Sheila for providing me this updated information today over the phone. "STEP N' GO" IMPROVES BUSINESS! I said in the end of the original review that basically it was unclear how helpful the therapy sessions at the clinic were. But I'm happy to report that the "Step 'n Go" stool (see photo) that they sold me in 2017 for $25 does indeed help me to empty my excrement better. And anything that helps me to do my business better can only be a good thing! In fact, when I'm in a public restroom, I put my feet on top of the trash can to act as a makeshift "Step n' Go" to help eliminate better. BETTER BUSINESS BIDET? Speaking of "better business", I had a new toilet installed last year, with a fixed bidet(as opposed to the "spray gun" type bidet) added onto it (see photo). This allows me to be able to spray myself after doing my business, instead of having to use toilet paper. The jury is still out on that one. But I understand that in many other countries in the world, bidets are used in public restrooms instead of toilet paper. I know that this is true at least in Asia and in the Middle East. The feeling is that using toilet paper is insanitary. One thing I do know is that toilet paper can clog up toilets. This was part of the reason I replaced my toilet. The Tummy Temple also told me that they still have no official opinion re: the use of bidets vs toilet paper, which is kind of surprising. read more

Nicole was great as she prepared me for a colonic cleansing prep getting ready for a colonoscopy. She made my original appointments and was the first specialist I saw in the 3 scheduled appointments. Reception lovely and calm. Parking is not wonderful through no fault of Tummy Temple--just allow time to scope it out and park carefully. Traffic is dicey. If you're not white I say do not go to this place because you are not welcome there. My dollar is worth the same as everyone else but I was treated poorly and told my name wasn't found under the list of people that was scheduled to do hydroclonic that day even if I showed them an email confirmation that was sent by them I was still turned away. It's not that my name wasn't on the list it was that I am a brown skin girl. They were surprised to see a girl like me there like they haven't seen anyone like me there before. read more

My experience here with Dr D have been nothing short of a headache. Dr D was late to both my appointments, ended one early so she could do paperwork, forgot to fill my prescription and when I called a WHOLE month later to see where it was she filled it for the wrong amount! Dr D's complete lack of professionalism makes the clinic as a whole look bad. read more

When you pay for a procedure. You would expect to get the procedure done. ... I certainly did not expect for the 'doctor' to take up most of the time interviewing me. Followed by failing to perform the procedure TWICE. For which I was still billed. I was informed that we were out of time. Then she tried to sell me supplements for which there was no test indicating I needed them. (She seemed to have lots of time for sales- not so much time for the booked procedure.) I was quite clear in the beginning- I would not buy pills from her without a test. Not only did she fail to overcome my objections- she tried to get me to come back in a week so she could financially gouge me again. -Practice- I had no idea I was paying for her to practice with a machine which she seems to need more training to use effectively. - I would like a full refund. I hadn't realized that I never reviewed the Tummy Temple! Let's start this off by being blunt - if you are a reader of my Yelps - we have immediately become close friends after you read this review. You suddenly know intimate details about me that the average person doesn't. I will now consider whether or not to delete my photo from my profile :) So -- COLONICS. Yes. A tube in the rear. How the heck did I get here?! I had heard a long time ago that colonics were a great way to rid excess "matter" from your body. It's a good cleansing method, a way to drop a few lbs (of stuff you don't need up there anyway) and let's face it - I'm up for new adventures all the time! I thought at the very least my experience would be an amusing story. I had just moved to Seattle at the time and was feeling comfortable enough to discuss the possibility of the procedure with a co-worker/friend of mine. She was thrilled that I was curious about the procedure because she was too. We decided that not only we would go, we would encourage our significant others to come along for the fun too. What's funnier than 4 people sharing their hydrotherapy experiences on a car ride home? I do some on-line research about colonics and I'm intrigued. Then I Google around for places in Seattle and find the Tummy Temple. Little did I know that just 6 miles from where I live lies one of the BEST hydrotherapy offices in the country. Their website is EXTREMELY informative on the procedure, what to expect, what you can gain from the experience, etc. It's totally pushed me over the edge and I call and make an appointment. COLONIC DAY: I admit - I'm nervous. I find that the exact body part that I'll have to expose during this appointment is quite literally my most private part. I couldn't stop laughing at the thought of a complete stranger poking and prodding down there. When it came time for my appointment I expressed some concerns and joked with the hydro therapist about how bizarre this experience was going to be. She put it bluntly and said, "Look - I've seen so many butts I don't even have to look anymore!" She was professional and really great at dealing with me as a nervous and insecure patient. Once all of the tubes and gadgets were in place, it was much less awkward. (It also didn't hurt!) Now we get to the colonic itself. WOW - it feels terrible! I was warned ahead of time that it would feel like that feeling you get every once in a while where you need to be totally alone with a book of matches and a stack of magazines. The hydro therapist talked me through it and kept chatting with me about current events, her job, all sorts of interesting things that were keeping my mind occupied as I felt like I was going to explode. (and yes - they're with you the WHOLE time. They're even examining what you expell.. really crazy but really interesting.) POST COLONIC: After we were done, I felt SO much better. The procedure itself isn't terrible but it's no walk in the park! I was told that later I'd feel elated and light and energized, etc. I felt all of those things. In fact, I felt great for days! I haven't gone back for a second visit but if I'm ever in the mood for a colonic again - I'd never go anywhere else. OK, people! I am here to de-mystify this experience. I recently had my first colonic and it was not painful or uncomfortable at all. Well, maybe not for women, who are used to being poked and prodded and put through pain for health and beauty. Anyway, not painful or uncomfortable at all. Awkward? Hell yeah! Embarrassing? Yeah, a little, but your dignity will stay in tact. I was really nervous for this experience but my hydrotherapist (or butt therapist, as I like to call her), Jojie was so funny and put me at ease right away. Seriously, I was laughing throughout this entire process, which is welcome at the Tummy Temple! In fact, this is experience was oddly so satisfying that I'm going back for another one this week. Did you know that the average person carries around 5-10lbs of poop? Ack! I learned so much! If you've always wanted to try a colonic, this is the place to go. Everything will explained to you in detail and there will be no surprises. Additionally, you are absolutely allowed to quit at any time during the service. But once you've done it, you'll be wondering why the heck you were so freaked out in the first place. It's totally gonna be A-OK! read more

Second colonic tonight with Dr. Allison Egan. What can I say? She listens and is very comfortable to work with in what is for most of us a "less than fabulous movie" moment. Movement, yes. She worked my colon like a target shooter, clearing gas and blockages with deep, knowledgeable and intuitive well placed belly massage. Good hands, good advice - about a multitude of subjects including nutrition, supplements, etc. I highly recommend you see her if you are feeling any gut discomfort, constipation, "the opposite of those conditions," he said delicately, but especially to relieve a sense of icky stuckness and irritation that needs to clear out. Internet searches will tell you the AMA says colonics do nothing. The AMA are idiots. Put your embarrassment aside and go save your life. read more

Tummy Temple is the bee's knees! I'm not very apprehensive when it comes to alternative medicine/methods for health related issues, so bring on the colon hydrotherapy! I was diagnosed with several food sensitivities this past spring, (wheat, dairy, soy, and gasp, chocolate!) and while ingesting these food items don't irritate my insides, I felt that I needed to cleanse and reset my system. After reading all the rave reviews, I made my appointment with Jojie and went for it. My experience was relaxing and not as painful/awkward/uncomfortable as you would think. She thoroughly explained what she would be doing, how the treatment works, what kind of results can be achieved, and all the nitty gritty details. We chatted pretty much the entire appointment and I almost kind of forgot that I had an apparatus in my rear end (sorry, too graphic?) Overall it was a pleasant and eye-opening treatment. It's amazing how much you learn about your body and how great you feel afterwards. I would recommend Tummy Temple to anyone in a heartbeat! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Allison Egan ND first for scar therapy injections originally and then for massage and trigger point injections after my car got totaled. Her understanding of pain and the body are very high level and she took great care throughout my entire recovery. The scar therapy is a scar on my face right above my eye from a car accident when I was a teenager. Over the years that scar has become a focal point for headaches and it feels like it's wrapped around a nerve and become very hard and crunchy. After only a few sessions I could feel the difference in the scar. It was softer and my weekly headaches had gone down considerably in frequency and pain level. It's amazing how long I dealt with them and how quickly it resolved when I found the right therapy. She was very gentle and precise - considering I was getting injections into my face near my eye. Then I got in a new car accident and started getting massage from her which was therapeutic and very helpful BUT EVEN BETTER the trigger point injections were amazing and made all the difference in the world! They allowed my overly tight and painful muscle patterns to finally relax and recover / heal. She was honest about what I needed and obviously really enjoys her work. She was very gentle and made the experience relaxing. I would recommend her to anyone who has muscular pain! (She also does prolotherapy injections for joint issues) read more

This place is ok, parking is difficult, and the building itself is hard to spot. I had to drive around and around the first time I came because I couldn't see the building from the street! But like I said, this place is ok. The services they give aren't bad yet the reason I probably won't be back here again is because I didn't feel cared about enough as a client. They are VERY unforgiving if you miss an appointment. They charged me the full price even though I had never ever missed an appointment. And I had been there numerous times before. And even though I had an emergency situation for missing it! Plus they were very cold about it! They didn't care when I said I couldn't afford $85 down the drain because I am a single mother. Nor did they care that I hadn't been there for over a year and really needed the treatment. In fact they tried to say I was lying and that I had just been there a month before! I think they should excuse just one time of missing an appointment. Seems a little greedy if you ask me. At the place I work, I always excuse the first time, sometimes second time when my clients miss an appointment. No one is perfect and I understand things happen. The Tummy Temple is indeed a temple. I always feel well-cared for when I visit. I've worked with Michelle, who is great. As the other reviewers have noted, being able to book appointments online is so convenient. The website is full of good information - the bios on the staff are very helpful. The online shopping is great, too. Good product description. Since I don't live close by (about 30 miles south), it's not convenient to drop in when I need something so I've ordered a few times online. Everything shows up on time, well-packed to avoid breakage, with excellent directions for use. I recently got one of their newsletters, and didn't realize how close colon hydrotherapy was to being removed as a service in the state of Washington by the Washington State Legislature. TT was instrumental in educating and keeping colon hydrotherapy as a much needed service in these stress-filled times. Yay! read more

Today I started down a new path in life, one in which will begin with a 21 day detox to rid myself of 30 years of bad habits and hard living. To jump start my detox I wanted my colon to be working at maximum efficiency, to help expel toxins quicker and easier. I have to admit, I was mildly to seriously concerned about what I was getting myself into when I first set the appointment several weeks ago on-line. It seemed so far away that my level of apprehension didn't seem cause for concern, that is until this morning, mere hours until I'd be lying on my side being poked and prodded in ways no man should be. Now that I've gone through with my first colon hydrotherapy, I have to admit, it wasn't bad at all. The staff here at Tummy Temple was so accommodating and pleasant, and especially my specific therapist, Janet, she was great. She explained to me every step of the way what exactly I should be doing and expecting, no surprises thrown at me in any way. Really, the whole experience didn't seem bad at all, barely any discomfort which surprised me considering the area in which we were working on. The hour just seemed to fly by. Afterwards, we sat down and discussed what had happened and what, if any, reactions I might encounter. She offered up some suggestions to help out with my detox that would make it a more successful experience. No reputable clinic -- not traditional, alternative, chiropractic, massage, accupuncture, or anyone else -- has ever before refused to make an appointment for me unless I gave a credit card in advance. I was having some terrible recurring stomach problems this past winter, and thought a good scrubbin' on the lower innards might help. (Turns out cutting back on salt and quitting msft did the trick.) But when I called, they insisted that a credit card was required to schedule an appointment, and that they intended to "keep it on file" for future use. Even if they intend well, that's poor privacy management for financial data, which makes me worry that their health records management might be just as bad. So I decline, and they refused to make me an appointment. THEN I get an email from them, in which they announce that they've created an account for me (which I didn't ask for or authorize) and suggest I can enter my own credit card information in their online accounting system... and there's a PLAINTEXT PASSWORD in the same email. Jesus wept. I'm sure they handle the functional parts of the service well, but holy smokes they desperately need grownup supervision on the business side. read more

Hi People, Okay I have read about this before, but this was my very first time ever having this done! It was peaceful, clean, safe and Heidi was a wealth of information! It was not painfull or uncomfortable. She put me right at ease and was easy to talk to. It was like going to a spa, beautiful room, peacful music, nicely decorated. Everything I needed to know was explained to me before the session. Heidi, was there the whole time and made I knew what to expect and took all the mystery out of it by explaining about colon health and how everything works. This is the evening of. I had it done this morning and I did not have any embarrasing symtoms that I could not manage during the rest of the day. I feel great. I'm going back in a week since I have years of "back up" were working on. I only wish I had done this years ago. Here I am healthy at 57 years old, a runner and I eat a well balanced whole foods diet. But I still suffer from a lifelong battle of constipation, that has gotten slightly better but still raises it's ugly head. I have had my gall bladder and apendix removed which I learned can contribute to tummy issues. I am going back for a few more sessions to complete a series. And then continue once a year or so as needed. This is something I plan on keeping in my routine on my journey to great health. I would highly recommend this place. read more

A colonic irrigation is not something one would usually brag about, but I had a good experience at the Tummy Temple and thought I should express my opinion. Their office is in a residential neighborhood, a little off the beaten path. The hydrotherapist I met with, Heidi, was very friendly and seemed well informed on the topic of digestive health. For those who haven't done one of these, come'on, you pretty much know what to expect. And it did not miss its mark. So while the procedure itself was not that pleasant, Heidi had a soothing voice, and soft music played in the background, so it was about as relaxing as getting pumped full of water can be. Afterwards, I was surprised at how little discomfort I felt. She informed me that some people feel a bit exhausted but I felt fine. read more

Great place for optimizing your health. The Lymphatic drainage and colonic are done nicely here. Everything is clean and wonderfully smelling. The reason I give 4 stars is only becuase the practitioners are not consistent one to another for me. One can be great, very informative/generous with the information they offer, gentle, knowledgeable and the next time with someone else, it can be a completely different experience and not so great as with the other practitioner. I wish there would be more consistency across the board. They have free street parking, but it is a high traffic area. It is very easy to schedule an appointment via their on-line booking system and there are always availabilities becuase they have many practitioners. You can try all of them and then choose the one you click the most with. You will find out that your experience with each will different, but I know that for some folks that's actually a great thing! You get to learn different things from different angles :-) I also love that they are next door the the Herbalist and the Herbalist has great, knowledgeable people there to help you address any health problem through herbs. read more

If I could give The Tummy Temple 10 stars, I would! I looked them up on yelp like you are doing now. I was hopeful that my experience would be as positive as the majority of the reviews. Jana who answered the phone was very kind and helpful. That was a good start. Then when first walking into The Tummy Temple, I was greeted with a smile and encouraged to go sit and relax in their lounge prior to my appointment. I am battling stage 4 cancer and so I appreciate being greeted so kindly and compassionately. I had tea (they provide) in their lounge and found it to be a very relaxing and inviting waiting room! I then saw Dr. Jessica. She had such a welcoming and comforting way about her. I've been going for two months now and have received colon therapy as well as cranial sacral sessions and Dr. Jessica EXCELS in both arenas. She and I have been working together to help me heal. Both physically and emotionally. I look forward to my weekly appointments and my husband is now going. You don't have to have cancer like I do to benefit from her expertise, knowledge and very caring way. I understand that this costs money, however what you gain is so much more. THANK YOU DR. Faie is AMAZING!!! My N.D. told me today to get a colonic to aid my body while he has me on a nutrition rich weight-loss program. I've been loosing weight very fast and in the last few days I've been experiencing toxins being released. He told me the best thing to do right now is get a colonic to aid my body in getting rid of the toxins. I called around town and found that Tummy Temple had the friendliest staff and could answer all of my questions. Over the phone they seemed really passionate about my health. They found time for me to have a colonic today so I didn't have to wait any longer. I was placed with Faie and as destiny has it...it was FATE! Faie has to be the most experienced and professional hydrotherapist. She had the BEST bedside manner and put my nerves to ease instantly. It was a phenomenal experience. I walked in a little nervous but take my word for it, they are fantastic here. I got to meat a few of the other women and they were all really nice to me. The energy at Tummy Temple is all about your health and well being...they don't try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need. Shipoopi!! Plenty of people think about getting one but most are afraid to talk about it. Everybody poops, and it's always better when it's an enjoyable experience for everybody involved. A fun-filled hour and a half of getting a colonic was just what I needed on a crisp, fall day in Seattle. I went here a year or so ago and am surprised I went back. It wasn't necessarily the therapist that I didn't like, although I didn't really feel a connection with her (I'm pretty sure she doesn't even work there anymore). I didn't know what to expect and wasn't talked through the experience enough to be comfortable. It was interesting, to say the least. Today I saw Janet and she is AMAZING. She talked me through the whole thing, during the consult and the procedure. She was as gentle as you can be during a colonic, and did a very helpful breathing exercise and massage. I was given a plan of action and sent home with some supplements that will help me get to where I want to be health-wise. I've started a gluten/dairy free diet and wanted to rid my body of built up toxins. Plus, I was sick of my mom telling me I was full of s**t. I like Janet because she had great 'energy' and was very friendly and open. She asked plenty of questions to get an idea of what my concerns were and didn't make the experience any more awkward than a stranger putting a tube up your butt would be. It's not nearly as bad as you'd think it is, and if you realize that this is what she does for a living, and there's always worse, you are sort of put at ease. Poppers seem to help too. ;-) I will definitely be going back to her. I would definitely recommend her to friends and family. Price didn't seem too bad considering what was done and I left with 2 bottles of supplements to help things along, and also a $15 tip to say thank you for taking your time and being gentle. read more

I discovered the tummy temple this February and I am on a journey to health that I did not think was possible. I have have had colonics with Jojie (she is amazingly skilled and has a soothing healing energy), tummy massages and treatment oversight with Kristi and then decided to do the SOMA sessions with Shelly. Kristi did a tummy massage that left my tummy vibrating for hours as if it had been asleep and just woke up! She explained my organs now had room to be in place and work better. Her work on my body was like relearning what it is to live in my body again. I have been coming to Tummy Temple even before I lived in Seattle. I used to travel to Seattle to visit with family and friends. Travel always seemed to block me up. I googled colonic places and found Tummy Temple. At first, I really liked the place and the practitioners. I moved here in April from Chicago so I needed to continue with colonic hydrotherapy in Seattle. I went back to Tummy Temple. I have had chronic constipation since I was a child and I have a redundant colon. I literally was not pooping for a week. The practitioner I used recommended Diju which is a stool softener. I have been taking the recommended dose, but I haven't seen that much difference. I received about 3 or 4 colonics and then received an email from the co-owner of Tummy Temple. She stated that I could not come back for a colonic hydrotherapy since I had clogged the toilet each time. Incidentally, I had never had this happen before and I have had many colonics elsewhere. The place just needs to get better toilets. The co-owner also informed me that there was a lot of expense with cleaning up the colonic room. In addition to the email, she cancelled my next colonic appointment without checking with me first. I found this to be totally unprofessional on the part of the co-owner. The reason I came to Tummy Temple is I was very backed up and needed relief from the bloating and gas. That's like telling a patient in a nursing home that they can't live there anymore because they vomited 3 to 4 times. I had just purchased a membership - fortunately I was able to get a refund on that. If that is their way of doing business, I am no longer interested in being a customer. read more
