Zero stars... Do not go here.. totally disrespectful of the customers and they cheat you on your money.. Zero 0 stars. The older ladies in the office and their nephew are super disrespectful to the customers . I had an issue where the workers calculating my weigh in of my recyclables were distracted. When I expressed my concern if why full attention to my transaction wasn't given, when I waited just like everyone else. Then the workers especially the pink nephew started giving me attitude and brushing me off. Then I waited in line at the office and tried to tell his Aunts . They juststaired in to the distance and me attitude too.and started taking other customers instead of breaching the issue. And on top of that the cheated me on my money. This is a comment/correction - not a review - to replace and correct for a YELP post I submitted about Temple Recycling in September, 2019 with inaccurate information. My mistaken info was due to my confusion of - until last year (2018) - three different recycling centers - all still operating on the East side of a two-mile stretch of West Temple Street. I am extremely sorry, Temple Recycling for mistakenly submitting that Temple Recycling at 3521 Temple Street was permanently closed. The error's been corrected. read more

I had 2 large trash bags full of water and juice bottles, 1 large trash bag of beer and wine bottles, and 33 beer cans. Total came out to be 12.69. See picture By far felt like the lowest I ever got back from a recycling station. It didn't seem like it was worth my gas but at least i recycled :] One good thing was they did take everything including wine bottles and other juice bottles (some recycling stations pick those out and say they don't take them) Anyway...I'd probably try another place next time but if you're close by or passing by as might as well! Tip: when you get inside park on the right side. You see those filthy green and gray trash containers? Yea you have touch them and separate your stuff in those bins...perhaps bring a one time pair of gloves if you don't want to touch nasty crap cuz there is no bathroom here... Anyway you bring the bins to the weigh station where a guy will weigh and give you a receipt. Then you take the receipt to the cashier to get your reward for recycling! Good luck read more

Bleh this place is so dirty and smells bad, but if it's any consolation, they have parking located inside fenced-off recycling center enclosure. They pay you by weight. Usually every time we go there's about 3-4 people ahead of us, I guess it's always kind of "busy". Made $3.36 today..........sigh so nominal lol. Doesn't even pay for 1 gallon of gas. Coming along Virgil, we made a right turn too soon on what we thought was Temple street and had to take this long detour. Just make sure you don't turn too soon!! This place is great, if it's close to home and you have a TON of cans and bottles that need to be recycled. This especially applies to me as I have a lot of fundraising to do for school activities (I'm a middle school teacher). The process can be pretty labor intensive. There are these smelly and dirty containers where you can empty your bottles and cans. One important thing to note is that your items need to be separated by material and color. And for this it does take time. Also, there is usually a long line as others are recycling their items. Patience is required. I usually put on gloves and wear my dingies as this can be a dirty job. A really dirty job. Also, I have started wearing ear plugs as the breaking of hundreds of glass bottles can be deafening! Also, it's best to go in the morning as it gets pretty crowded, as I mentioned earlier. Once you have reached the front of the line, there is a person who weighs your items and hands you a receipt. Once you're done, just head on over to the window to get your hard earned cash. Besides earning cash, you leave this place knowing that you have done something positive for the environment! read more

Don't ever go to this place! It's a HUGE rip off! I took in at least $100 worth of cans and bottles and I only got $48. So in satisfied with them in every aspect. At a recycling center I'm not really expecting much but I just couldn't believe it. I feel they stole my money and made me do there job for them separating everything from different beer bottles to different colors. And then they go threw all of it so you have to wait for that. Just trust me I've done a lot of recycling and this place is a rip off!!! read more
