I was in town for just one night traveling on business and decided to give this place a try. The server was pleasant and attentive and kept checking in to make sure I was happy with the food and my drink didn't need refilling. I had the Pork Pad Thai. I will start by saying the portion was huge, I like to eat and I couldn't finish my plate, so value for money is great. Where I scored this down a bit was the Pad Thai was just mediocre, it wasn't bad by any means it just wasn't great. I also asked for it to be hot (Spicy) a 3 on their scale of 1-4. It came out I would say barely a 1. Be warned though the way they do how spicy your food is, they have a scale from 0-5 stars, I love 2 star, I barely think it has a kick too it, but I just recently had 3 star for the first time, and it was a painful experience. Ten Ten is a solid little place for some tasty Thai. The portions were huge (I got Pad Woon Sen with tofu). I went in early on a weekday night and there were only three other parties in the restaurant, and one waitress. She handled all of her tables with no problem. I told her I like spicy dishes and she brought me the ubiquitous spice tray and told me to make sure and try the chef's homemade chili sauce. Good suggestion. I literally got three meals out of this noodle dish and took plenty of the chili sauce in my to-go container. I recommend. One star deduction for not having papaya salad (Som Tam) on the menu. read more

Maybe Thai restaurants are like the new pizza joints. (Example, you order from the same pizza place either because it's convenient or you like consistency or maybe because it differs that much to other chains.) Likewise, I've had Thai food from many places, sometimes good and sometimes just ok. Here at Ten Ten Thai, it was jus ok. I ordered chicken lettuce wrap for appetizer. It was thick, mainly because of the sauce, a bit too salty for my taste, but the chicken was tender. It was served with half a head of iceberg, which only helped a little to subdue the saltiness. It was hard to finish alone. I also ordered pad-ke-mao beef and pad-Thai scallops. Regarding the beef, it was thin sliced and chewy not tender. The flat noodles we're fine, but it's sauce was salty. The broccoli was not tender, but also chewy, very hard to eat. Regarding the scallops, they were small, thin, and chewy. Not crisp outside and not tender inside. They were cooked into the noodle dish and lost in the massive amounts of noodles. I can't say the noodles were the star, nor its sauce, also a bit too much soy sauce or sauce in general. It wasn't what I expected, I guess different per cook and region. All three dishes a bit to salty for my taste. Generally all three seemed similar in taste, which shouldn't be the case. I ordered it two stars for spice (scale out of 4 stars) and they were spicy to my likings. The amount of food was enough to feed three people. I would return if I had too for company, but may make different choices to different dishes, or even ask for less sodium or sauce. Sigh... read more

Only the curry items and the Thai steak don't have wheat. Very disappointing . I wanted chicken and rice. They said they couldn't make it without their soy sauce which has wheat. The Thai steak was very good but I'm disappointed that they can't use gluten free soy sauce when requested. That's what I use at home. August 29, 2018 Just called and spoke to a man at the Thai place and despite yelp saying there is gluten free he said the only thing gluten free is salad. Won't be going back there. read more

Very average and underwhelming Thai food experience. Admittedly, better than I was expecting considering how small town Wilkesboro feels. Their menu indicates how spicy an item is with a 1-4 chili pepper rating. That being said, my 3 chili item (red curry) was mild so I wonder how bland the actual mild 1 chili items taste. They also give you an option for which protein you want in your dish-- chicken, pork, beef, tofu. I ordered the tofu and was just basic tofu. I wish it had either been fried or simmering in the curry so it would have had more flavor. My favorite part was that it was at least a departure from the surrounding deep fried and heavy Southern kitchen staples that you find in the rest of town. Second time eating here. Good food, friendly staff, quick service. I ordered Basil chicken stir-fry and it tasted as expected. However, I ordered 4 stars for heat, and for me, it was about 1 star level. I certainly understand that it's difficult to serve very spicy food without getting food sent back. Fortunately, there were several options on the table for me to get it to the spice level I wanted. Also got Tom Kha soup. It was good, but seemed to be missing nam pla. Fortunately, the sauces available allowed me to make it taste like I wanted it. Always happy to find a decent Thai place in small towns. I would eat here again, for sure. read more
