I never would have expected to eat some of the best, most authentic Thai food I've ever had in Jefferson! O's Thai is a super hole-in-the-wall spot. The menu changes weekly, and you can see the most up-to-date menu on their FaceBook page. I got the Khao Soi, which was a very creamy, curry noodle soup. I loved the tender chicken, richness of the soup, texture of the egg noodles, and tartness from the pickled veggies. To drink, I got the Rose Thai Tea with boba; I usually love rose flavor but this had bit too much for me so I wish it was more milky to balance. Ambiance is nice, there's only outdoor seating. Service was so friendly, it made a great impression. Parking is free in downtown Jefferson. 9/10 would recommend! read more

Oh my goodness. Talk about fresh Thai food. This is some of the best Thai I have had. She travels two hours to Greensboro to get her authentic spice ingredients and it to DIE for. Absolutely stop here to have some lunch. Plus O (that is her name) is super sweet. Incredible food. read more

Amazing authentic Thai food that my girlfriend and I found after hiking Mount Jefferson. The Chicken Satay and Durian dessert were absolutely delicious. The Thai iced tea was also a 10/10. Be mindful that the place is outdoors and has limited seating but it was amazing nonetheless. read more

Visiting from out of town and found this hidden gem in downtown West Jefferson. It was a perfect selection from a select menu..... Pho, Panang w/chicken and Chicken Satay. My parents had never tried Thai food before, but they live here and both said they would come back. Zero spice for the PHo and Satay (perfect for first timers) the Panang was maybe a level one, but my dad finished the serving. Some of best authentic Thai food I've ever had, and it was $12 and in the middle of nowhere North Carolina. My daughters curry was a little too spicy and cook gladly added a great deal more coconut milk to tame it -- great service and quality for s tiny food stand . Cute little walk up Thai place with limited outdoor seating. Many folks took their food to go. My friend and I both had the beef meatball soup with rice noodles, julienne carrots, sliced red cabbage, celery, green onion, cilantro and plenty of yummy broth. The meatballs were delicious and so was the rest! We also had the thai tea...I had mine with cream and it was also delicious. If you want some heat for your meal you can get a little cup of chili oil. The service from the owner and her help was friendly and top notch. Loved it! Yummy!!! read more

Excellent Thai flavor in the heart of downtown West Jeff! The place is pretty new, and we were thrilled to find it on our most recent trip to Ashe County. They have 3 or 4 different daily dishes to choose from, and the prices are phenomenal. I fed our little family of three for less than $40. As for the food, it was terrific! I had the Larb beef salad, which I've never seen before (I usually order larb chicken). It was super flavorful and perfectly spiced. We also ordered the meatball soup and the Massaman Curry. The mango and sticky rice was a great treat as well. The owners were friendly and answered all of our questions. This spot came highly recommended by my cousin so we had to check it out. My husband LOVES Thai food, but I'm not a huge fan. THE FOOD HERE WAS SO GOOD WE ORDERED MORE TO-GO WHEN WE FINISHED OUR MEALS! The flavors were amazing and authentic. The owners came out to chat with us and make sure our food was ok. Three of us had a delicious lunch. We really enjoyed the Masaman curry and two dishes, Ha Mok and Khao Soi, we've never seen on a menu at other Thai restaurants. All truly delicious. Best food in all of West Jefferson, hands down. This is real Thai food made with local ingredients, not frozen, and the menu is seasonal. Not only is it delicious, it's healthy and supports local farmers (produce). I've had the Cowsoy, spicy pork salad, spicy holy basil dish, and always end off with the mango sticky rice (dessert). A good menu is one that's small and rotates with the season, so you know the chef cooks it for you then and there. The owners are super friendly and provide good service. Delicious! I've been longing for authentic Thai food here in the high country, and O's is it. The panang curry was rich and flavorful, the pumpkin custard dessert was yummy. The rose lemonade really tasted of rose. They also have a magic lemonade that changes color when you add lime juice - fun! Meat, fish, vegetarian & vegan options the day we were there.
