Do not go here! I used to go to Tend for a few years (2020-2024) and since moving to a new dentist I'm realizing how bad my experience truly was. On my first visit, I was told I needed 3-4 fillings. I had one filling before moving to DC but I was shocked that my teeth had seemingly deteriorated that much and the dentist brushed off any question I had. Fast forward to my first appointment with a new dentist, who took one look at my x-rays and said there was no need for the fillings I got. On top of that, every visit I had was filled with judgement, guilt-tripping, and fear-mongering. The office tried to sell me Invisalign multiple times (despite not needing it) and I never had a good experience with the front desk staff. You can take this review with a grain of salt since I haven't been there in a couple of years, but I highly recommend finding a different dentist - don't get tricked by the fancy marketing. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Tend Dental Capitol Hill. The manager was disrespectful, you expect at a place that's supposed to make you feel comfortable. One other issue was the amount of time I had to wait, with no real communication as to why the wait. On top of all that, the quality of the dental work was not up to standard. I left feeling unsatisfied with the results and honestly questioning whether I'd ever go back. For the price you pay, you'd expect much better care and professionalism. Paulnea very nice and understanding of my tiny mouth and, made x-rays as comfortable as they could be. Was also very friendly, excellent at establishing a quick sense of rapport and comfort. :) Damian was a friendly and personable hygienist, and he struck the perfect balance between functional efficiency and sociable warmth. Spoke very kindly with me before we got started, and after we started the cleaning he didn't try to continue awkward dentist-visit small talk, which I really appreciate. Dr Kadily was fast and friendly. She recommended I get a filling re-done at the branch where I initially got it, but I might get a second opinion elsewhere based on the other reviews I've seen. They oversell a lot of treatments that you do not need. The prices of the treatments are much higher than the other offices. Also, at first they tell you the treatments are covered and after a few months they will send you a letter letting you know that the insurance did not pay for the treatment, so you have to pay it out of pocket. The office was extremely hectic. It was poorly managed, there was a lot of wait time and the doctor barely spent enough time for the exam. read more

I cannot believe I gave these scam artists a second chance to rip me off! They make it absolutely impossible to get the care that is included with your insurance. This is my second attempt at getting a basic cleaning and still nothing. Hundreds of dollars wasted on hearing their sales pitch for services you don't want or need. Avoid all of the Tend centers if you actually care about your teeth. They recommend expensive, unnecessary procedures and hold you and your credit card hostage until they have siphoned all of the money they possible can from you. read more

Absolutely the worst experience. The cleaning was rushed. The doctor kept trying to upsell some treatments that I wasn't interested in. She also wanted to replace some of my old fillings with crowns or porcelain fillings for no reason. And someone really needs to address the attitude of their front desk staff. Don't go here. The atmosphere at the dental office was superb. The staff was highly professional and kind from when you entered the building, at the front desk for check-in, and when greeted by the hygienist. The hygienist asked all the relevant questions. What was the reason for my current visit? Any immediate dental concerns? The x-rays, gum health check, and cleaning were performed carefully. I paid for 4 crowns from Tend in 12-18 months almosy $8K...2 have fallen out. This second one that fell out about 10 days ago was past your one year guarantee so I had to pay to put it back. Then it fell out 10 days later and was told still have to pay (even though when i made the appt .I was told I didn't. My insurance believes crowns will last at least 5 years so they won't pay. Tend lasts maybe a year then they blame other sites, schedulers, etc. Super Shady! Stay away from Tend! read more

Rescheduled an appointment MONTHS ago, after they had cancelled on me last minute, for today. Got several time and date confirmations last week, both by phone and by email, only to wake up this morning to an email "confirming" my appointment for a completely different time, which I cannot make. Called to reschedule and they told me I'd been double booked by the studio, sorry. Next appointment isn't for WEEKS, after already waiting 2 months for this one. If I hadn't checked my email this morning, I would've showed up at my scheduled time with no one there to greet me. And the customer service agent barely blinked over it, which tells me this happens all the time... I've enjoyed my experience at Tend before but this is no way to run a business. read more

They're honest but don't push what they recommend onto you if you don't want to proceed at that time. Facilities are clean and everything looks new / top-of-the-line. I get a lot of dental anxiety, which caused me to not visit the dentist for three years. I was expecting the worst with pain, but my hygienist was so kind and careful and got my cleaning done quickly and gently. When the dentist came in for the examination, he took the time to give me a thorough explanation about my grinding issues, giving me a mirror to show every intricate detail. It was the first time I felt truly included in my care plan. It also doesn't hurt that I got to watch 90 Day Fiancé the entire time. :) I will only be going to Tend from here on out. read more

It is impossible to work with the local staff ... everything is sent to a national office with little to no interest in client welfare or customer service. After agreeing to a recommended procedure, the office claimed they received preauthorization for the insurance coverage. As one would imagine, the procedure was not covered by insurance and Tend charged my credit card without a call or notification. It took 9 months of countless hours on hold and with the call center before they were finally able to provide information required by my insurance company. To make things worse, Tend claimed several times that they sent the information to the insurance company which continued to extend the process. A local dentist whose staff is both accessible and approachable would have significantly reduced the heartache and frustration. Do NOT use this national chain ... they dont care. read more

This is hands down the best dental experience I've ever had. Amazing atmosphere, fantastic staff, and my teeth have never felt cleaner! My hygienist, Amber was able to get some glue off of my front tooth that had been on since I had braces in 2015. My teeth look so shiny and pearly white now and I can't stop telling people about what a great experience it was. I will actually look forward to going to the dentist now! Completely Bait & Switch - I made an appointment to start getting care at Tend and the website had me input my insurance information, confirmed that they accepted the insurance, and let me make an appointment. THE DAY BEFORE the appointment they called to let me know that I had a $90 co-pay after billing my insurance...which seemed excessive. As a result, I canceled the appointment, but since it was within 48 hours I got charged a $50 "Late Cancellation Fee." Avoid TEND!!! read more

I have been afraid of going to the dentist my whole life so I was so anxious for my first appointment today, to say the least. The staff at the front were very friendly when I arrived. and I love the look and feel of the office. Both Dr. Chegini and Ebony Turner did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable and easing my anxiety. I loved that they both took the time to explain things to me and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. I also loved being able to watch Netflix during the cleaning -that definitely helped to distract me and calm my nerves. I scheduled an appointment for a specific time and date. When I arrived to my appointment, the front desk person said that I was 30 mins late. I told her that it said on my end that it was at 2:30pm. I received a text message and email saying that it was for 2:30pm. Nothing showed up on my profile that an appointment existed and I got charged $100 for a "no show" even though I physically came in-person to speak someone. I followed up with a phone call the next day and spoke to someone on the phone and they told me that no one logged in anything about canceling the no-show appointment. Completely unprofessional. Where do I start. Ok so when first getting in the building I was greeted by Kimberly at the front desk. I was asked if I wanted to brush my teeth before going in the back and handed a travel bag with a toothbrush & paste. After that was done Danielle the DA was came to get me and she was very nice and welcoming. After getting X-rays she then let me know that the doctor would be right in. Quick, thorough exam - very helpful staff that gave thoughtful recommendations for dental needs.

Tend looks mighty nice when you walk in. And they give you a very nice little swag package of a fabric travel bag, a plastic but not cheapo toothbrush and some very good toothpaste in a nice package that looks like it should contain lotion. I waited only a few minutes, and the hygenist was very nice, the whole thing was pleasant, I was impressed by the number of xrays and photos of my mouth, the cleaning was pleasant and thorough. The downside? The dentist told me I needed two crowns as well as a new filling. When I saw the price After insurance, I was a little concerned. After downloading the Tend app and seeing the procedures outlined and priced, it was now A LOT more money- Roughly $2000 per crown?! I got a second opinion from another dentist, who told me I didn't need crowns yet, just the new filling. So I can't say I trust Tend. Also not being able to talk to the front desk, instead a NYC phone number, is not very helpful. No Thanks, Tend. Good idea, but too expensive! read more

Do NOT go. In 2019 I had an implant and crown placed by an oral surgeon/dentist in NOVA, and for the second time the screw had come loose causing the crown to move slightly while eating. I figured instead of driving all the way to VA to have the screw tightened up, I could just visit the local Tend in my Hill neighborhood. Upon arrival I was given a series of x-rays and the dentist then told me it showed massive bone loss around the implant and that my implant was failing. She suggested I return to the oral surgeon to have it fixed. I was devastated and quickly made an appointment to do this, but had to wait one week for an availability. It was a brutal week, thinking that I'd have to spend thousands of dollars and undergo multiple surgeries for a second time in only a couple of years. Once I got back to my surgeon he seemed very surprised at the diagnosis and did his own x-rays. There was no measurable bone loss and the implant was fine. It simply needed a new screw, as I suspected and told the Tend dentist, and he fixed it for me on the spot. I suppose this establishment may be ok for those of you just looking for a cleaning or those that don't need any major work done. But if you're looking to get an opinion or fixes to crowns, implants or anything more major, run away from this place. read more

The staff from the moment I walked in the door was very friendly and professional. My hygienist, Olivia, did an amazing job and took a ton of x-rays and photos of my teeth. I loved feeling relaxed watching Netflix during the entire exam and cleaning. Dr. Thompson was also so great and was even able to help me with a minor issue I had been having recently. OMG. This place is amazing. Take it from someone who hates the dentist. Everyone was very friendly and professional. They have lots of cool features like a tooth brusshery, TVs that you can watch during your cleaning, sunglasses. It was a very comfortable experience. I hadn't been to the dentist for a couple of years because of the pandemic. Tend made the return very easy on me. They did a full workup and were very clear about any costs that my insurance wouldn't cover. I was able to be distracted by netflix during my cleaning which really helped with my anxiety. The app really blew me away with an exact rundown of my treatment plan, xrays, and images. I love the transparency and the upscale feel was quite soothing for what is normally a terrifying experience for me. This is aside from the wonderful customer service I experienced. Everyone was so kind and gentle and I am looking forward to getting back on track of my dental health with them. Just make sure you pay the meter for parking! read more
