Pink Lady Roll and Salmon Sashimi

One of the best spot in Westborough! The restaurant look cozy and offers such good sushi and the service was great. COVID has limited the amount of people entering the restaurant but the restaurant is big enough to hold decent people or a group of 10. The location is great too with big parking lots and inside a golf center.

We only come here for Japanese flat top grill experience. Reviews here are rather poor and maybe that's why out expectation was low but it wasn't bad at all for a neighborhood Japanese grill house. We only ordered two entrees for grills. We visited here three times and it is just never so busy for the grill. I see some people at the bar all the time but not for grill. But still they always come out for two people and do their small show (egg spinning and onion volcano if you know what I mean..). Not terrific but it's okay. Food is very standard. Nothing amazing but what average neighborhood Japanese flat top. You always get a couple shrimps no matter what you order and you have to pat $2 extra for fried rice which is worth it. Their portion is very generous but their seasoning is a bit strong. If you don't like too much soy sauce saltiness, just ask for light salt for your fried rice. Their sauce could improve (ginger and mustard). Usually you get some type of creamy sauce for seafood but not here. I would give 3.5 out of 5 here. Don't expect Michellin quality flat top, then you would be fine.

Great dinner tonight with sushi salmon avocado roll and curry chicken.

Eat at the bar with all local folks enjoying the Red Sox game - we love the chicken lettuce wraps and sushi. They used to have all you can eat sushi but I think my son eat so much they had to discontinue it :) The family owned business makes you feel right at home! The Hibachi is fun if you have a big group. Overall, the place is great. Insider tip: the Salmon avocado is to die for (the salmon is smooth like butter), as well as all the other types of sushi. They are all so artistically presented and are just as yummy. You have all the staples that you find in your average Asian bistro, but the flavor is anything but ordinary. It is some of the best food I have had

Still trying to find a good hibachi place nearby but this is not it. We decided to sit at a table and order Hibachi from the menu, with a $20 for $40 Groupon with the restriction to order from only the dinner menu (roughly $10 more pricier than lunch / hibachi meal), it pretty much evens out to no discount. The food is fair, less salty and greasy than most places which is a plus, but the dinner meat portion - which we were told is more than lunch, is still quite a bit smaller than we expected. And my aged NY strip was definitely definitely not medium rare as requested (it's more like medium-well done). They do also have a sushi menu and the option for sushi buffet available. The wait staff is generally lackluster and even though the venue is very nice but lacks the vibrant experience that usually associates with Hibachi.

I had never been and saw that they were on restaurant.com so I picked up a $25.00 certificate for Hibachi. When we arrived there were three hibachi stations with people at them already. We told the host we wanted Hibachi and he responded that it could be a while and did we want to sit at the bar or come back. I asked why it would be a while since there are 6 stations and he indicated that they had only a single cook working. We decided to sit at the table and wait. The first thing I noticed was that the table was sticky and clearly had not been well cleaned. Before I could say anything the host asked us if we would move to a different table large enough to accommodate us and another group that just arrived and also wanted hibachi. We watched as the chef cooked the meals of the other two tables and the staff seemed to be running around frantically trying to keep up. It appears that they need to work on their staffing levels. After what seemed like forever our turn came. I ordered the Filet Mignon and Shrimp. The cook was very skilled at both cooking and entertaining us while he cooked. He did the usual onion volcano and really put on a show with the knives. The meal its self was great the fried rice was light and tasty and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were tender and fresh and the noodles were tasty but I could have gone without them. It was a lot of food and I definitely found that I overate. We did discover however that those that ordered the white rice instead of the fried rice never received their rice. Again I attribute this to the poor staffing levels. When the bill came everything matched up but they charged me for 2 soda's instead of 1. I thought that was a bit tacky to charge for a refill given the long wait because of their staffing snafu. Would I return? Yes but I wouldn't rush back.

    Hibachi!

This is a great place for a solid hibachi meal. They don't do all the fancy tricks at the table like other places which is refreshing. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Not very crowded if you arrive early. Recommended!

Best Sushi...Westboro Road. Looks beautiful Too! Go order some. Tenka Westborough

Tenka has the best Chinese Food of any Chinese Restaurant that I've ever been to. Kevin is the owner, he and his wife are by far the best hosts you could ever want. They make everyone feel warm and welcomed. I don't know how Kevin does it, but he remembers everyone's name, even if he's only met you once. If you want fresh food, this is the place to go. Monday night we popped in for a little something and Kevin whipped up some Sushi that was just out of this world. So go check it out, you won't be disappointed.

However, last weekend we decided to give it a try because some times we need to give the benefit of the doubt to some places and judge them by ourselves. Well, to our surprise we had a very pleasant first experience at this place. Starting with the ambience, the restaurant has a nice sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. Everything was very clean and organized in an elegant way, which caused a very good first impression. Continuing with the food, there is a variety of options in the menu, mainly Chinese (of course) but also a Japanese section (sushi and other items). We ordered from the Chinese options...For appetizers we ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, the Scallion Pancakes, and the Boneless Ribs, all of them very delicious. The Scallion Pancakes have been the best in terms of texture that we have tried in the area. Our only recommendation would be to add more scallions to the dough so they can taste more to scallion. The flavor of the Boneless Ribs was very tasty and their texture was tender, not chewy as we have tried in other places. The Thai Spring Rolls were interesting, flavor was good as well as the texture. As main entree, we ordered the Orange Crispy Beef and the Sesame Chichen and found both very delicious. The crispy beef was the first time we tried something like that in the area. The amount of sauce that they used in both dishes was not too excessive and the tenderness of both the beef and the chicken was very good. Regarding drinks, we ordered a Piña Colada and a Polynesian cocktail, both with very balanced flavors. The only recommendation for the Piña Colada is to try making it more frozen and not with too many ice cubes. The flavor was pretty similar to an authentic Piña Colada (we are from Puerto Rico, the place where this drink was born and have to admit that the flavor was good); making it more frozen would give the final touch to make it more authentic, in our opinion. The desserts menu was not extensive at all, only one option available which was the fried ice cream. We decided to try it anyway and found it very good. In terms of the service, it was acceptable. Our server did a great job taking the order and not missing any item as well as serving our table on time and accurate. He wasn't smiling all the time, but he was respectful and polite, enough for us. I would say that if you are in the area, you can give it a try. For 5 years we avoided this place, and unless they changed something recently I have to say that we like the experience and are planning to go back. We don't do late dinner regularly, so we went there around 5:30 pm, which we don't know if that could have made any difference in everything.

Weekday lunch with not much of a crowd. Lunch combinations made it easy. -- Hot and Sour Soup: Tea-colored and thin and somewhat watery, but the heat and tartness still came through. Decent amount of mushrooms and tofu, without much variety. -- Egg Roll: Crisp outside, moist inside. Mostly cabbage, with some gray pebbles of pork. Not much flavor here, so it really needed the duck sauce. -- Orange Beef: A generous portion for a lunch combo, with bumpy semi-crisp surfaces, and somewhat tender meat within. Think of them as miniature chicken fried steaks. The flavors in this dish were impressive, blending spicy, sweet, and tart. Orange, peel, onions, and other little nuggets added complexity. A little gloppy, but someone who likes this dish would like this dish here. -- Fried Rice: Very light of color and no additions other than egg. Moist and fresh, but bland. Zero flavor. White rice would make more sense (and maybe even more flavor). -- Pork Fried Rice (full order): I ordered an extra to go, to see how it compared against the lunch special rice that wasn't that special. Still light and a little lacking in flavor, but an improvement with the pork and other additions. Fairly average. Decent enough meal, reasonable value, but flavor and/or texture was a little lacking on some items. Worth another look though, thanks to the Orange Beef and the atmosphere.

Sawa had a decent Yelp rating (and was essentially the only place we could walk to), so we decided to give it a try. Since we were dining at an off time, there was only one other patron in view. If you search for Salmon on their online menu, you get 47 hits! Service was good, then again we were essentially on our own. The Salmon was good, not the best I've ever had, but tasty. The Fried Rice was also tasty, but very salty. The Scallion Pancakes were crispy and nicely cooked, we really liked these. And the Gyoza was very tasty, but should have been crisper. Overall, a very enjoyable "Linner" and a 4-star dining experience. I would return here if in the area.
