Extremely overpriced especially their clothing & shoes! Bring your money bags if you shop there

I have shopped at Tennis Cabana before - they have a great selection and I received a gift card to Tennis Cabana for Christmas this year, and I was excited to use it. I know it's the holiday (12/31) but I went on Google and the hours said the store was open today. I arrived and there were employees in the store - when I knocked on the door I asked if the store was open and the woman who responded was so rude, she just said "nope!" and I told her that their Google hours were not updated - she didn't say anything, she just shrugged and shut and locked the door on me. It was such an odd and uncomfortable experience, it makes me not want to patronize the store anymore. I understand being closed for the holidays - Google should be updated to reflect that and if not it would have been nice if she was at least sympathetic. Her response was utterly rude. read more

Friendly staff that walked me through their demo program! I'm currently on week 2 of 4 where you can try two different rackets a week. So far I've tried the Yonex Astrel, Ezone, Vcore, and Wilson Clash for $25. Highly recommend this shop and I'm looking forward to purchasing with them. (Also have great clearance deals on year old rackets, balls, and gear. Sadly no badminton but have pickleball!) read more

I did the demo program about nine months ago and it worked out well. I had no intention of actually buying a racket, but your $25 could have been used towards the purchase of one. They did allow me to return a few rackets a day or two late and the staff was pretty nice as well compared to the two loser tennis shops in Scottsdale. Ended up buying a racket online and that was a few bucks less. The only issue with the program is that your $25 credit expires pretty quick after your last demo, so either make a quick decision or head online and use your research to snag a racket sent to you with free shipping and free stringing (not offered here). read more

A couple of friends told me about TC. I stopped there today to have a look around for pickleball gear. They had a great selection of gear, especially paddles. I can't see going anywhere else for paddles. They had a great selection of shoes as well. For me, finding a 12W is not easy but they had several in different brands. This may sound like an advertisement, but it was just a good selection of gear and good service. Customer service was very good. I asked some questions and all were answered, everyone was courteous and friendly. I was looking at the Selkirk Tour bag, it was cheaper here than at Selkirk. One small suggestion would be, when someone enters, an employee should greet them. And upon leaving, offer a farewell... Every time. Side Note: To Wayne S. Just because you can't follow directions you give an establishment One Star. Try Google Maps. Did you give Yelp a One Star review? Giving a One Star review because you got lost is just idiotic. My go to tennis shop for restringing. The staff are generally knowledgeable when making tennis string recommendations. And, as a tennis coach I feel reasonably comfortable sending my clients in for racquet purchases. However, make no mistake, the industry is set up to sell newest, most expensive products. And, this is not always the wisest choice. I always read customer product reviews for racquets, shoes and strings at the online shops before going into Tennis Cabana. Plus, this specialty shop will meet sale prices advertised online. read more

I have been going to this tennis shop for a number of years, mostly for restringing and buying equipment like grips and balls. The staff is knowledgeable when it comes to giving recommendations and providing guidance to the questions I have had. They have great demo programs and if you're looking to try out a bunch of rackets or pickleball paddles then this is a good shop for that. The customer service is great and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to buy tennis or pickleball equipment. We went in with the mindset of not breaking the bank and the lady who helped us (I forgot her name) was extremely helpful and did everything possible to find the racquet. I have been shopping here since they opened in Ahwatukee years ago. I've purchased many tennis items - shoes, rackets, racket stringing, bags, clothing. The staff has always been friendly & helpful. In September I purchased a pair of tennis shoes. Those shoes split on the upper toe box area. Tennis Cabana honored the KSwiss guarantee without an issue. read more

All I got to say is 4 staffs in the shop and I am the only one there. No customer service at all. Probably cause I am Asian. I was looking at rackets hoping one came by to ask me if I'm doing okay but I got nothing. Then I picked up a few things and proceeded to checkout and as expected then continue to ignored me even though 3 of them clearly made eye contact with me. Yea I'm not coming back so don't worry. OK, This is a follow-up review. I had some very good and some not so good help over 4 years. Here is an update. I had a very very positive experience today with the owner with very quick stringing on short notice and very pleasant and helpful support. So at this time, I can recommend highly the use of this real tennis shop. it is rare these days to find a true custom tennis shop. Not much selection of shoes if you are picky. No adidas. No top of Staff is polite but clueless.

I wanted to give a quick shout out to a great local business that stocks a nice inventory of rackets and tennis accessories. When you need tennis stuff, it's the perfect choice! This tennis addict gives it lots of kudos! We take the clinics with John at Lifetime in Tempe and we frequently "borrow" a racket from Tennis Cabana to try out. I've been here a few times now and have tried to be fair in my judgements but after this time I will refuse to go back. Horrible customer service and rude when you ask them something. When I need restringing they are not fast at getting this done. One time when I came to pick up my racquet it was in one of their random bins behind the counter. Why was an expensive racquet thrown around like trash? Who knows. Won't waste my time coming here again. read more

Based on Mike's instructions I ended up driving from east Mesa down for an "elbow friendly" string job on my racquet even though there's another location much closer to me. The strings broke 2 weeks later - literally within 7 hours of play! When I drove back down there (much sooner than ever expected) I had to pay the difference to re-string :( Why? Per Mike "my issue with this is that YOU purchased a clearance string so you need to pay the difference". Wow. Obviously I am disappointed especially when I purchased what HE recommended. At this point they lost what would have been a loyal customer relationship. I will not go back again even if strings break in a couple of days. read more
