We have been their insider member for many years. I live about 30 mins away from Tennis Express. So usually i call before i bring my racquets for express stringing service. Last Friday, I called while i was on the way to their store and i was told to come and they can do express within 2 hours. When i got there a few people were in front of me lining up to either make purchase or to string racquets. The cashier guy told me that they just cut off express service coz they have too many racquets to string and only two stringers are working at the time. I asked then why did the lady on the phone told me to come and they can do 2 racquets in 2 hours? He said " we go by hourly not by guarantee. but we will do it for u today but for future reference, we go by hourly so you can't call ahead". I was already very unhappy with the tone he used and the customer service but guess what? another employee heard our conversation and had to make it worse by asking me if i was okay with 4 hours express service? I said no. She said they have 14-15 racquets they accepted and only 2 employees working on stringing machines. I said then hire more people. She said "Skills are required to string racquets. It is easier to said than done" I said "you can always train people to do the job." Anyway, I came back to pick up my racquets that day but when we tried the new strings, one of the racquets tension was off. We went back today to see if they can restring and they said they need to check the racquet and see if it is their fault and that even if it is, won't be done until Sat afternoon. My husband also tried on Rafa Cage 4 shoes. They were full price. Insider members should get 20% off and at the checkout they said they can't give us 20% because they are low on stock. So they charge members the membership fee s and can't give the discount that comes with the membership because the shoes are low in stock? Behind the cashier there is a big poster advertising membership is $69.99 right now but regular membership is $99.99. This is BS. It has been $69.99 for the last two years. I told my husband we will never renew our membership and we will never do business with them. Within a week, we had to experience the worst customer service from that store. Most of their employees have attitude and they are so rude. Stop advertising that we get 20% off on full price shoes if u won't honor them just because u don't have enough in stock. I went back to the car and ordered the shoes from Nike website and paid full price happily. read more

Missing a star because when I asked a certain new racquet to be on sale the tall Caucasian dude replied smirkingly, "Yeah...come back in 2 years." If you're lucky enough to live in Houston and you play tennis, it's a must visit. I went in with the goal of buying a new racket. Alex picked three within my price point, helped me do a semi "blind" test of them (they have an indoor tennis court which is cool), and was very knowledgeable about the specs of each racket as well as strings. Tennis Express live sup to its name--my racket was strung within 1 hour (I did a little shopping elsewhere then came back). I was surprised at how many people (employees and customers) were present in the middle of a Wednesday, so they must be doing things right. Long story short, I ordered two pairs of the same shoe to find the right size. The smaller size was too short, so returned it. I did wear it around the house to make sure - my house is carpet and some hardwood floors. Any my home is clean. Anyway, was informed up on receipt of the shoes that they were "dirty" and couldn't be resold. It didn't cross my mind to take a picture because I literally tried them on, walked around a bit and decided they weren't the right size. So I'm left with an 80% credit at a place I don't intend to ever shop at again. Better to use Zappos or Tennis Warehouse or go to the brand directly to buy. I called and while they were friendly enough, the answer was nope. This day and age - wrong answer. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the heartache. Update: customer service reached out to help resolve. That was nice. I had, however already submitted documentation to my credit card company who credited my account. read more

Drove 30 miles to see the new location and get some new shoes. The people in the shoe department are rude and very unhelpful. Never acknowledged me or asked if I wanted to try anything on when I'm standing there holding 3 pairs of shoes of the shelf. Then when I asked if I could try some on, he literally rolled his eyes at me and said I don't know if we're gonna have those. Another guy was sitting there with headphones on ignoring everyone. The tennis sneaker was much larger than a normal 12 1/2 D would be. I threw the box and other items attached to it away so I cannot return them, otherwise I would. My other New Balance sneakers that I have purchased fit fine. Very disappointed. read more

I have mixed feelings dealing with Tennis Express. The baseball hat I ordered is the first hat I've ever bought that fit me perfectly! Outstanding fit and quality. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Customer Service. I ordered the hat on March 31, 2024. When I had no response or product by the middle of April, I called CS and was told that the shipment would be in on April 30 and I would receive my hat within 3-5 business days thereafter. April 30 came and went and I still did not receive my hat. When I checked in with CS again, I was told that Nike told them at the blue hat I ordered was no longer available and they send me a link to reorder. When I reordered, I received my new order a few days later, May 30. Getting a hat that actually fit me almost made the two month wait worth it. I just wish that Tennis Express could have told me earlier that my original order was no longer available. Five stars for the product! One or two stars for poor customer service! Don't trust them and paypal credit to work together. I purchased an item and filled in my address. After my purchase went through, my address was changed to an old one I haven't lived at in over two years in a different state. Customer service told me tough crap and they wouldn't do anything about it. They saw nothing wrong with changing my address to a different state when the address wasn't listed on tennisexpress or my paypal account. read more

Tennis Express is just fantastic! I recently started playing tennis again and heard about TE from a friend. First of all, their selection of tennis apparel is outstanding. You can literally find ANYTHING you could ever want to wear to play tennis. Their show selection is equally good and their shoe team knows a lot about each shoe and what you need. They have a huge sale and clearance area where I've found great tennis basics like white tennis skirts and cute tops. Of course, their racquet selection is outstanding. They are extremely knowledgeable about what kind of racquet you need for different levels. The best part is you can rent demo racquets to take for either 3 days ($5) or 7 days ($10) to see what you like. The rental money the goes towards your racquet cost. If you don't want to bother rd tong a racquet, they have a court inside their building where you can play and test stuff out. Lastly, their staff is so very nice and helpful. They're doing something right there! The only downside is their location is pretty far west so it takes time to get there. The product was too small even if it states the right size, I wear a 13 and it fit like a 12, its happening a bunch with tennis shoes on the market right now, Tennis express obviously knew something as the price was extremely lower than usual. Tennis Express offers great service and a good variety of products. The ASICS clay shoes are comfortable and are worth the price.

The shoes fit me well and provide good support and cushion. The only strange thing is the length of the laces: they are barely long enough to tie using the normal eyes. If I wanted to use the extended eyes I would have to buy longer laces. read more
