I made an appointment with this Discount Tire location on 4226 N Roxboro for 2:45pm on Apr 17. It…read morewas for a nail in another tire. I would have gone to the one on 4400 Fayetteville but it was much further away from my workplace, and I have no desire to return to the Wake Forest location again for a 4.5-hour service. The location at 4226 N Roxboro in Durham was closer than both. At 2:20pm, I logged in Discount Tire's Journey Tracker app that I was on my way. I arrived at 2:34pm. There was no wait line to the front desk. I was immediately helped by senior assistant manager Jim (according to his business card). After I described the issue to him, he asked for my car key and said he'd get me squared away. Unlike other Discount Tire locations, he did not accompany me to the car to show him the issue. At 2:47pm, I received an update on Journey Track app informing me that the estimated time of completion for my vehicle was 3:41pm. The waiting area wasn't crowded. At least three seats were available during my time there. However, the counter table had no seats. I needed to use the wall outlet next to it to charge my laptop. So I stood on my feet the entire time next to the table. The wifi was slow. A Google search took at least 5 seconds. Google News wouldn't load at all the first time but then loaded almost instantly the next time. At about 3:02pm-ish, my car was in the service bay. Five minutes later, I was informed that that tire had to be replaced. The informing attendant said that it would be replaced at no charge, which Jim confirmed another five minutes later. The store didn't have the exact model tire so they went with the closest one. All it cost was less than $10 for another certificate of free replacement, and subtracting the price of the original tire (the closest model tire cost less). At 3:28pm, I received a text notification that my car was ready. Within one minute, my car was parked outside and ready to go - the team finished ahead of schedule. I appreciated the great savings on the new tire. Service was good, certainly better than the Wake Forest location. There's one thing the N Roxboro Discount Tire team can do to improve my rating to "great": put seats at the counter table.

Checking air pressure a couple of weeks later, and front tires are at 40psi, 10psi higher than what my car says on the inside of the driver side door. Only came to this location because the one off of 15-501 didn't balance my tires after I asked them to on two separate appointments. Fair to say this was the last set of tires I'll ever buy from discount tire. Just save yourself the hassle and go to Costco.

Tri-City Auto Care - This documents the refund by owner Ken for negligent repairs, which was later voided. I never received the refund--a complete scam.

Tri-City Auto Warning: Dishonest Service, Scammers, Voided Refund, and Vehicle Put at Risk"…read more It's rare that I leave negative reviews, but my experience with Tri City Auto was a complete nightmare. They charged me $773 for faulty work based on a diagnostic they never properly performed. I was told my Q3 Audi needed a thermostat--only to later learn it didn't. The part was ordered incorrectly three times, delaying repairs. I was then told by Jennifer McCormick, I should be grateful she did not charge me for their mistake because it cost them money. My car was initially promised back the same day but wasn't returned for two days. The day after pickup, my car wouldn't start, I was able to get a battery jump, to make it to Jiffy Lube (less than 1 mile away) for a battery replacement. Within minutes the dashboard lights lit up, smoke billowed from under the hood and fluid poured from the bottom of the car. Jiffy Lube discovered the intake hose hadn't been properly reconnected--posing serious safety risks to me and others as I was about to travel out of town. Tri City agreed to tow the car back and offered a loaner, which was the only positive experience. They eventually admitted the thermostat wasn't ever needed and said they'd issue a refund. The owner can also express sometimes things just happen and things can go wrong. However, the refund receipt was vague, and when I asked for clarification, shop supervisor Jennifer McCormick responded unprofessionally--handwriting unclear notes on the receipt. I followed up via text, simply requesting confirmation of the refund details. Within minutes, Ken McCormick, the owner, called me with a hostile tone, stating, "I already told you what the refund was for." Despite having printed documentation and screenshots of the initial refund, Ken and the Tri-City team ultimately reversed and voided the promised refund transaction. I had to take my car to another repair shop, where the technicians expressed serious concerns about the work Tri-City performed. All dashboard lights are now on, and there appears to be additional electrical damage. I've already lost over a week of access in my car, now using LYFT and incurred more than $1k in additional repair costs--potentially even more. Tri City Auto is dishonest, unethical, and extends dangerous. I would never trust them with my vehicle again and strongly advise others to avoid this shop. what they are doing to people is so unfair and I would not wish this treatment on anyone.

Went for an oil change, and they tried to upsell me on a…read morefuel system service, and an Annual Engine Performance Service totaling more than $400 (sounds really official, but neither service is anything Mercedes recommends for maintenance so I declined). Then they told me I needed new tires since some of mine were unsafe and I shouldn't try to drive on them, and one pot hole could turn into "a really bad day". That seemed odd, the tires only had 17k miles on them, and last I had the brakes done 3k miles ago, they were measured and in very good shape. Got offered a promotion that expires today, but I still declined. So I went home and measured all tires, and the measurements of all four was much better than they stated. See photo comparison below - right rear tire quoted at 3/32. A tire gauge, used exactly and exclusively for this purpose shows between 5 and 6/32 putting it in the green. My standard for who I will give business to is would I recommend my mother, aunt or a friend go there and trust their recommendations and findings - and I absolutely would not.

This location has changed a lot so the front desk/checkin/reservation/"vehicle inspection and here…read moreare 10 more things you should spend money on" experience makes me feel generous giving 3 stars. Received 3 text confirmations of appt but when I showed up front desk had cancelled it; shop now runs a full system check (I just wanted an alignment) and recommended many additional items and tried to upsell me; when car was finally ready a day later I never got a confirmation call. The whole experience was a major turn off. Will sadly not be going back.
