I ate lunch at Tepic today and ordered the Tacos al Pastor. That's one of my favorite Mexican foods. Normally, I pick them up and eat them like any other taco. But today I finally figured out that O should use my knife and fork! Anyway, they were delicious and tasty , served with refried beans, Mexican rice, a salsa, and a green sauce. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted excellent. The wait staff were all pleasant, and professional. I enjoyed my time at Tepic and will definitely consider eating there again. read more

I have been wanting to try Tepic for several months. I will never be back. Over priced and mediocre food. Started with a basket of broken chips and bland salsa. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, it came with the usual rice and beans. The chicken was dry, the rice had no flavor, the beans were inedible. Started with chips and salsa. The salsa reminded me of chunky ketchup -- canned tomato with little flavor of onion, garlic, cilantro or chile -- so I asked for a salsa picante. I was showed a rack of bottled hot sauce. For an entree I tried chile verde, which tasted like pork that had been roasted then dropped into a sauce (rather than cooked in the verde sauce to tenderize and absorb it's flavor). I had a great small margarita during happy hour. Chips came with salsa. We ordered the queso appetizer that also came with more chips. The queso was a bit runny and wanted to drip off the chips. My entree was the seafood chimichanga. It was served with rice and beans. Rice was ok, I don't like refried beans so did not try those. The sauce over the chimichanga lacked a tomato flavor. I ordered a chicken enchilada for takeout with rice and beans. The enchilada was just a folded tortilla in red sauce with no chicken inside. There was small amounts of chicken in the sauce. Our new go to Mexican restaurant. The skinny margaritas with freshly muddled citrus are the best we have ever had anywhere. We love the chips and salsa and the tortilla soup. The shrimp cocktail is also excellent. The green chicken enchiladas are also a favorite. The employees are very attentive and friendly and it's a very nice space they remodeled in the Burlington mall. read more

The service sucks. We were trying to order and our waiter took off to talk to someone without a word to us. He had asked for our order and as i was speaking took off. By the time I got my lunch, my husband was almost done with his. He had to get up 10 minutes after I got my meal to get my tortillas so I could eat my fajitas. My husband had ordered a beef taco salad and was served a chicken taco salad. Tried to tell the waiter and was ignored. No one ever checked on us after we were served. read more

Stopped in with my toddler for a quick bite, sadly, not very impressed. We had been here 4 yrs ago but it was under a different name. An employee said today's establishment is "under new management but the same menu". My taste buds say nothing has changed, same unappealing dishes. Mind you, we only had the chicken quesadilla today. $14 for a soggy chicken quesadilla was disappointing. Being ignored by the server after several attempts were made to get his attention, never mind now a screaming kid, definitely made me accept this place isn't for us. I'm only leaving 2* since the place looked clean and we were seated in a timely manner. So many good places to chose from here in Skagit Valley, this isn't one of them. read more

This was a great place to eat at with my family of 5. The food was absolutely wonderful. I even made my own flavor margarita. Blackberries&coconut. Is a must try. The service was hands down the nicest around. My 2 year old son fell in love with there tortilla warmer. We asked to buy it. But the owne gave it to us for a cute picture of him with it. Very disappointing visit. We have loved this restaurant for years and missed them so much when they were temporarily closed. We were so excited when they reopened in their new location. But the food was not as good. The rice was actually horrible. Sticky and gloppy. They did give us a small discount after we expressed our dissatisfaction with the meal. Tepic Mexican Restaurant has reopened in a new location after being closed for 1-1/2 years because of a serious fire. We visited the new location today and were very pleased. The facility is very spacious with plenty of parking. The staff was enthusiastic and attentive, and the food was the same as akways--excellent, served promptly, and priced reasonably. Was charged twice for my meal and when i went back to recieved my refund was argued with and even threatened to have the cops called on me, not once did i get violent with anyone i just wanted what was owed to me, its a shame cause they had some really good food but will definitely not go back since they want to steal from their guest and then treat them like they are the ones who are in the wrong. read more

I used to come here a lot for lunch when it was Lorenzo's before retiring. So it's been a while but saw they had a molcajete on their menu and decided to make the trip to Mount Vernon. We went in and had a good dinner with good service. We put our check on a credit card and added a $6 tip. Next day I happened to look up my credit card info and saw a $9 charge instead (nearly 30%tip). I called and spoke with the manager who admitted there was an error but only offered me $3 off next time I came in. That really wasn't acceptable as I don't live in Mount Vernon and how do I know it will be honored? I asked for a credit and he got upset saying he would have to check with the "company". Needless to say, no response so this will wind up being disputed with my credit card company. You lost my business. If you go, be sure to pay in cash. read more

My partner and I don't get to Mount Vernon often, saw this place tonight and had to stop and try it out. Mexican is my favorite cuisine and this place did not disappoint! Great atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food. I had the veggie fajitas (vegan friendly) and my boyfriend had the macho burrito. Huge portions and food came out fresh and hot. New name, same bland overpriced food. Save your money, head over to Taco Time/Bell if you want any flavor. Chimichanga had zero 'traditional' flavor (oddly sweet) and undercooked tortillas (very soggy)... Taco?, also soggy and flavorless. Enchilada?, smothered in sweet tomato sauce and so much cheese! Tamale was decent (although it was also buried in sauce. Thought we would give the 'new' restaurant a try, big mistake. Will not return. read more

Awful awful service! My family had a birthday party here the other night and the service and attitude of the staff completely sucked. We finished our salsa and chips, asked for a refill on both plus a small side of bean dip 30 minutes goes by and we only get the chips. We asked for 3 drinks only get two drinks, 20 minutes later! We never got offered menus we had to ask for them and when we decided it wasn't the best idea to eat here anymore we politely asked for the check and the check was PRINTED AND HANDED TO US WITHIN 1 MINUTE!! Obviously all they care about is your money not your experience! Will NEVER be eating here again. Very upset they took away Lorenzo's and turned it into this garbage restaurant.
