When I spend over$100 I expect good service and good food. Did not receive either here. Won't be back

Food: Very good food. I ordered the brisket plate with creamed corn (brisket 9/10. Good flavor, good ring on it and flavorful + it wiggles which a good brisket slice should. Corn was pretty sweet but good). My only issue as a Southern spot it please include a slice of bread (white or texas toast + pickles with the meat plates.) the bbq is a homemade bbq sauce thats sooo darn good! Id buy a bottle or two! My wife ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The brisket sandwhich was of course good with a buttery bun. The coleslaw (was lacking good flavor; not a fan personally). The fries were frozen fries and descent. We also had hush puppies; pretty good. Service: AMAZING service from Mia. Such a sweetheart and gem. She helped us make good picks from the menu. Ambiance: a very large building! When we went it was empty and during early day. Very clean, clean bathrooms and music playing. The look/feel gives more "country" vs southern. I was expecting to hear southern soul vibes on the music, and photos or items throughout that gave "southern bbq vibes". A dope touch would be dope photos of black or southern cowboys, and etc. lots of opportunity for a real down south vibe to be created. Overall- very pleased. I hope they have another 50+ years of business while stay true to their southern roots. Love love lovee

Being treated to Chuckanut Manor is starting to be a tradition for me. This is my second time to…read morethis wonderful place. The first was my birthday last year, chosen by a friend (I'd never heard of it). This year I was asked where I wanted to go. I did not hesitate to say here! I couldn't be anything other than delighted in my decision--from the pleasantness inside, the wonderful view from our window, the delightful staff and the incredible food and drinks, this place is wonderful. Lucky me that my birthday was on a Wednesday so I could be totally influenced to have oysters-on-the-half shell due to a generous Wednesday night special. I do love raw oysters--and these were so tiny and briny and so incredibly good, I could have eaten five dozen! (I am kicking myself for not finding out what kind they were, but no matter. I would be happy with any they are serving here, I am sure.) I had already planned on having the Oysters Rockefeller (known here as Manor Rockefeller), and so, despite having just downed some oysters, I went ahead anyway and am glad I did! They were wonderful. And there was no real reason for me to pause for a moment in my decision, having already had oysters, because these were soooooo different. It was almost like eating a delicious oyster casserole in a shell. The Mediterranean Mussels were wonderful! (Notice, I was having a dinner of appetizers...) The broth they came in was beautiful (and drinkable, if one were so inclined). I loved the surprising tastiness of the Mama Lil's Peppers swimming around in it. At first I wondered if they would be too hot and compete with the flavor--overwhelming it--but no! Not at all. They were a perfect and flavorful touch. Absolutely wonderful. (And having said that, I know that "pepper heat" is an individual thing--I can tolerate a goodly amount, fyi--I just didn't taste these as hot at all.) Our server, Drew, was immensely helpful (and always charming!) He paired our food with a delicious wine. I guess we would assign my bowl of clam chowder to the dessert category--very thick and creamy--along with a lovely after-dinner cocktail, made by the wonderful and delightful bartender, Sherry. She made me a lovely mocktail to start--I asked Drew to have the bartender just make something up on a whim. It was pretty, colorful and delish with what in it, I have no idea. But, not only was it delectable, it was a vision! All festive and fuchsia, with a "bartender's cherry," and a hot pink umbrella. When I learned Sherry made it, I was so happy because I remembered her from last year--very skilled and very fun to chat with. A wonderful birthday--I highly recommend the Manor.

Great views of the bay, attentive friendly staff and good food. A must try if you're in the arearead more

I sampled chowder at several other restaurants and was extremely disappointed by how watery and lackluster the flavor was. Then I found Bob's Chowder Bar! On our way home from the San Juan Islands, I spotted Bob's out of the corner of my eye. We were starving and had planned to visit a drive-thru for dinner, but after much protesting my husband agreed to pull over so we could check the place out. The restaurant was closing in 25 minutes, so I was a little hesitant to eat in, but the staff encouraged us to stay. It's a good thing we did, because to this day that bowl of chowder remains one of my favorite I've ever had. It was rich and creamy, and loaded with tender bits of clam. The potatoes weren't overcooked, and had a soft bite to them, and the soup wasn't overly salty. The restaurant has a fun, colorful vibe with lots of local flavor. There is interior seating, as well as extensive outdoor seating. Although the restaurant is on a busy street, through the usage of awnings oversized umbrellas, the seating area feels peaceful and inviting. The staff were incredibly gracious by encouraging us to stay! They stopped by to ask us questions about our visit to the islands, and wished us safe travels on our way home. We had a wonderful time visiting Bob's and would love to return when we find ourselves in this area once again.

Quick google search, and a stop into another local eatery, we landed at Bob's! Specials are listed by the front door, seating outside and inside, we were sat immediately. John went with the special that was a 2 piece cod and chips and a beer (beer made locally), Eddie went with the shrimp scampi & I had their made in house clam chowder with a garlic biscuit. John's fish was perfect. Eddie loved his scampi (I tried a prawn- delicious). My chowder- I think the boys were grateful to try it and wished they had ordered it! The biscuit however- hard as a rock. It was a giant crouton. lol- but the drinks and food, otherwise, was wonderful. Service was friendly and fast. Great little spot to grab lunch with views of the harbor.

We've been coming to this place for years and it never disappoints. In fact, it seems it's even getting better. The menu is quite extensive, with game choices (alligator meat), as well. But we come here for boiled Coons Stripe Shrimps. They're small, but big in flavor. We also had a blue crab burger and oyster burger. Both are have generous amount of oysters and soft shell crab. The buns are soft and the dressing in each are good. They both come with fries, which are crispy and seasoned well. The tent holds a couple of benches and it feels like being in a picnic. There are honey buckets, with outdoor sinks. Despite the lines, the lady at the counter is efficient and manages to be friendly. There's plenty of parking in the front.

It did not take that long however we were told they were training a new cook. The wait for the food was not bad. We ordered a pound of the medium coonstripes shrimp for $16. Lots of portable washing machine with soap and paper towels. Very clean and lots of parking. Nice day to sit out specially during the summer months.
