We stopped at this hidden cafe for brunch on a weekend. Easy to find. Ample street parking. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Passion Mango Mimosa and Huevos Rancheros (two eggs topped with cheese, ranchero sauce, and refried beans), and a side of bacon. The mimosa was delicious. The ranchero sauce was flavorful and paired nicely with the refried beans and eggs. The tortillas tasted store bought (still delicious) and the green and red salsa served as a condiment (red and yellow squeeze bottles) were flavorful with minimal spice. We were visiting from out of town and were shocked to discover this is not a Mexican restaurant, they have a huge menu with lots of American cuisine and a small Mexican food section. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our breakfast here. We had chilaquiles and a chorizo breakfast burrito and we're both very pleased. I was really excited to eat here for my birthday breakfast, as it had great reviews and had been recommended by our AirBnb hosts. However, we were very disappointed. We were seated quickly which was great. My husband ordered the corn beef hash and I had the french toast. I requested extra powdered sugar (I don't like maple syrup) and they did a great job of adding plenty. Sadly it was very dry. The corn beef hash was clearly from a can and was awful. It looked very unappetizing and tasted terrible. It also came with potatoes, which was an odd choice since it is hashed with potatoes. My husband was very disappointed and we would not recommend this restaurant. Maybe the Mexican focused dishes are better, but it was not a great experience. read more

We came in for breakfast and were greated promptly. I ordered the papas rancheros. Unlike a lot of places that have homefries in any capacity, mine were seasoned perfectly. It came with a dallop of guacomole and sour cream on the side. Basically, it was scrambled eggs on top of homefries with some cheese, diced tomatoes and green peppers. The peppers were not cooked and added too much crunch. They also were not diced like you would find in a pico but pretty large. It might be me, but I don't like crunchy additions to my scrambled eggs. Overall the dish wasn't interesting to me and not something I would try again. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito and like my dish, the green peppers and onions were raw with a big dice. read more

This is a nice cafe tucked away in a cool building that looks like a remodeled barn that now house a lot of little shops and the cafe. The atmosphere is a little different for a restaurant. Cant quite explain but it probably has something to with the fact that there is no ceiling it is just open to the barn roof. Don't be too fooled by the name. While they do offer a fair amount of Mexican dishes I would say the majority of their menu is much more eclectic. My wife and I were not blown away by the food but we were not disappointed either. The beans and rice were great, but the chimichanga itself was the star of the show. The shredded beef was tender, juicy, and the tortilla had a wonderful texture to it. The employee also brought out some red and green salsa, which I think is either made in-house or just from a legit salsa company, because that red salsa is AMAZING. The green salsa is good, too, if you prefer mild to sweet, but if you like spicy, ask for the red salsa. I would have purchased a bottle of it if I could have. Nothing other than the chili relleños really stand as all is good but the relleños are the best in town, made with poblano chilis, not Anaheim. We arrived around 1pm and waited less than 10mins for a table. The staff were cleaning all tables thoroughly and were wearing masks and gloves. The menu was extensive and had pretty much anything you could want! It was hard to pick from all the breakfast items, Mexican entrees, salads, burgers, pasta, and seafood! Pretty much all dishes were under $20. Everything sounded delicious, and we ended up ordering the breakfast quesadilla, ultimate omelette, seafood platter, and huevos rancheros. It did take a bit of time for our food to come, but the portions were large and we were all stuffed after.
