    Chilaquiles and breakfast burrito
    Lexi C.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our breakfast here. We had chilaquiles and a chorizo breakfast burrito and we're both very pleased. The chilaquiles had a nice creamy red sauce with the crispy chips, fried egg, black beans, and our cream. They also served their homemade corn tortillas on the side with two different salsas and it was all VERY tasty. I'm so excited to go back and order more of their menu for breakfast and lunch!

Chicken Chimichanga with rice and beans

I was out walking around getting my steps in and checking out the snowfall in town (Oak Harbor, WA) while on my way to my favorite watering hole "Krakens Cove" to chat with my friends. Unfortunately, the nasty weather didn't allow Krakens Cove to open today. So, after scratching my head to decide where to go, I decided to stop at Noe Jose inside Harborside Village on Pioneer. I wish I could say the food here reminds me of Mexico, it is very good! But, I wouldn't know because I've never been in Mexico. So, I guess I'll just have to say that the food here is great! I ordered the chimichanga, because like they said on tv's "Two and a half Men", it's so much fun to say!! I ordered my chimichanga made with chicken. I barely had time to get settled in and my server was delivering my food! Quick, efficient service! The meal included rice and beans with a little sour cream and shredded lettuce on the side. There was also two squeeze bottle of homemade sauce, red sauce and green sauce. I preferred the flavor of the green sauce, but thought both were tasty.

    Carne asada

The carne asada was full of flavor! I also loved the rice as well. The grilled onions and jalapeños were sweet and charred perfectly. Their house salsas were so spot on! So authentic and flavorful. I would say the service was TOP NOTCH! Jose was great with recommending menu items to us, explained a bit about their family restaurant. He did such an awesome job! And even brought out a few homemade tortillas for me to enjoy with my meal. We were from out of town visiting, and found this place on Yelp and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Don't be intimidated by all the varieties on the menu, just go straight to the Mexican menu!

Family run and tasty. Maybe this is too much information but I squealed when my tacos were brought to my table. Hand made tortillas for the tacos and (begin squealing) grilled red onion half a jalapeño!! The service was friendly and welcoming. The menu varied. Pasta, burgers and Mexican dishes. The food was delicious! Of course I throughly enjoyed the grilled jalapeño. A little smokey, a little sweet but still some heat. De-li-cous The tacos were yummy. What makes these standout are the handmade tortillas. Seriously, hand made tortillas. YUM!! This meal reminded me of someone I dated years ago whose mother owned her own taqueria. Yea I dated him a little longer because his momma could cook. If you're in Oak Harbor- check out Noe Jose. Tasty

    Mmmmm. Breakfast.

Came in for a bite. Had the special, Carnitas. I totally forgot to take a pic again. The meal was excellent. Large portion of meat, rice, beans, and homemade tortillas. I drowned it all in their homemade hot sauces and washed it down with a cold Pacifico. If you want a great bite to eat at a great price give it a try.

    Papas rancheros

This little restaurant / case is tucked in an old historic building with various other small gift shops. It is American and Mexican food with various classics across both categories. We came in for breakfast and were greated promptly. I ordered the papas rancheros. Unlike a lot of places that have homefries in any capacity, mine were seasoned perfectly. It came with a dallop of guacomole and sour cream on the side. Basically, it was scrambled eggs on top of homefries with some cheese, diced tomatoes and green peppers. The peppers were not cooked and added too much crunch. They also were not diced like you would find in a pico but pretty large. It might be me, but I don't like crunchy additions to my scrambled eggs. Overall the dish wasn't interesting to me and not something I would try again. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito and like my dish, the green peppers and onions were raw with a big dice.

Butter Toffee Cake a la mode.

Wow. Showed up 55 minutes before closing, which as a former server I really hate doing. But the servers were still very gracious. I was unsure about ordering fish and chips from a Mexican restaurant, but I decided to go based on previous reviews. It was really, really good. (I would recommend adding chopped fresh dill to kick the tartar up a notch, but that's just how I prefer it). Crispy battered fish, not too greasy as you I've experienced other places at other times. My daughter ordered fettuccini - she said it was good, but she would never turn down any pasta. I would post pictures of our food, but we ate it too fast. My husband and I shared the fish so we'd have an excuse to get dessert. The Butter Toffee Cake was pretty incredible - a rich finish. I was not disappointed.

Super Mexican breakfast. Machata with hash browns and homemade fresh tortillas will hold you to dinner. A little pricey but great service.

Chicken Alfredo was maybe the best I've ever had. The seasoning and cheese hit just right. I look forward to trying their other dishes.

The space is cozy and a good vibe for a date night. We loved both of the dishes we tried, especially the scallop risotto. All the seafood was fresh and cooked really well. The miso cod had the perfect crispiness on the skin and the scallops were perfect. All the tabloids went really well together. The cocktails were not bad, but not our favorite part of the meal. Everyone was super friendly and we really appreciated that our server knew exactly when to check in and give us space. He also picked up on the fact that we wanted to share all the dishes so he brought them out one at a time. When we ordered dessert he added in a candle since he knew we were celebrating and brought out extra dessert wine and goodies too! We appreciated the attention to detail :) Definitely a must try in Whidbey!

(We're used to having to leave our dogs behind when we go out to eat.) We started with the bread, which was served warm and alongside a delightful orange-coriander butter. For mains, I got the sablefish and my partner got the duck. The duck was wonderful. The fish was good, but it could've used more of the sauce that was served underneath it to balance out all of the panko breading. For dessert, I got the carrot cake and my partner got the salted caramel shortbread. Both were good, but the carrot cake needed a little something to make it exceptional. All in all, the experience was incredible. Our dogs loved the attention they got from both the staff and other guests. And their humans appreciated the top-notch hospitality and had a wonderful evening. If you're staying at the hotel, absolutely make a reservation here.
