The place looks unassuming but the food was delicious. You can tell that it's a mom and pop type restaurant which adds to the charm.

If I could give them a lower rating I would. I don't know how anyone could with good conscious…read morecould serve what they claimed to be food. We should have know when we walked in and only saw two other people there. For starters the place was a hole in the wall dive. It looked and felt filthy and has no atmosphere. I will say that the waitress was good and attentive. We were brought chips and salsa right away. The chips were flavorless, stale and they were like eating paper. The salsa was maybe tomato juice with chunks of tomatoes and a shrimp cocktail sauce mixed together?? We noticed all of the silverware was dirty and had either sticky stuff on it or crusted on food. When we got new silverware it didn't look much better! I had the ground beef chimichanga. The menu said it would be fried. It wasn't. What I got was a thick rolled up chimi shaped piece of raw awful tasting dough! The ends were hardened but not fried. It was more like dough that had been sitting out all day hardened. It had a very small amount of sauce on top that I think was supposed to be queso but I'm leaning towards a cat regurgitated on it. I cut into it with my fork and all I saw was mashed dough. When I was able to pull the dough apart looking for any meat, the first thing I saw was orange grease running out. Eventually I saw maybe a teaspoon of greasy meat that had embedded itself into the dough. Toppings that should have been on it were not, such as the sour cream and guacamole which the menu stated was included. When I asked they said " oh you want those too" like it was going to be extra. I informed them that the menu said it was included. The so called refried beans were a small spoonful of what looked and tasted like red beans out of a plain label can and the rice was nothing but white rice with absolutely no flavor. My friends were disgusted by everything on their plates as well. The chicken in theirs was chewy and rubbery with a rancid flavor. Everyone had the same issues with their food as well as very little filling in anything. Oh I don't know how I could forget the numerous friends that joined us as well. Flys everywhere! Big ones and what seemed to be fruit flys landing all over our food. I have to wonder if this place has ever had an inspection. I highly doubt it but they should! We all picked at our food since we were starving but left most of it. Once we left we all felt nauseous. We agreed that we have never in our lives had such awful disgusting food. I could probably say more about the food and the restaurant but I'll let you make your own opinions if you dare to try this place out. As for my final thoughts. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. That would be too cruel. One good thing is the free protein toppings that you may get in every bite Bon Appetit

There were 8 people in our group and they ended up seating us outside which wasn't a problem as it was warm and sunny. Once seated our server took our drink order quickly and followed up shortly with taking an order for appetizers. Which also came out fairly quickly. Our server then took our entree orders. He returned three or four times to replenish/refill drinks for the females in our group but ignored me and the other male in our group, until we asked for a refill. Our entree's took about 20 - 25 minutes to come out and there were several minutes between the first and last to make it to the table. In the business district of the town where most of their lunchtime weekday customers are workers on lunch break they need to be getting the food out the kitchen quicker. As for the food presentation was nice. Everyone's dishes looked really fresh and appetizing. Two of our team had the shrimp taco's and they was so much moisture in them they ended up eating them with a knife and fork. Another two on our team had the Quesabirria. They said it tasted good but had more cheese than Burria. As for my own dish, I had the poblanos with steak, which is three enchiladas covered in a poblano sauce with a side of rice. The portion was a reasonable size but the steak was chewy and while it wasn't bad the poblano sauce just didn't impress me. It was just plain in flavor, with not much poblano flavor. Like I mentioned earlier we were seated outside. I was about two thirds the way through my meal and found a small black hair in the sauce. Where we were sat was pretty breezy so I cannot say if the hair came with my meal or if it was blown onto my food, but it was not the best end to what I would call a lackluster meal.

Our wives ordered pork tamales ala carte and I ordered a beef taco, and 2 beef enchiladas with queso. At the last moment, I ordered 2 birria tacos with spicy salsa and my BIL ordered a steak burrito with no salsa. The tamales ( although pork) came with a ground beef sauce which they said was excellent. The burrito was ok, but he said it definitely needed the salsa and then it would've been perfect. The ground beef taco and enchiladas were spot on, but the birria tacos were . Some of the best I've ever had. The spicy salsa is not for the faint of heart as it has a kick, but delicious. There are many great Mexican restaurants near.
