Probably my favorite bar in town. It's a classic dive bar. The space is small & cozy. It has entrances from the street & the back parking lot. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. I crossed paths with a bartender that i'd previously crossed paths with in Houston, and that's was a real treat too. A dive in the true old school sense of the word. Smoking cheap drinks and non politically correct conversation. If you're a young hipster thinking trendy dive bars are cool it's not for you. You will be driving out by cig smoke in five minutes. Only down side is drunk patrons especially "native Americans' and drink old timers in general who can't handle their liquor are not reined in and given free rein to try and pick a fight with you. I know this from experience. And before all you cry racism I am 40% Native American. And the rest Latino. But hey don't let that stop you. I go there every time I am in town. . This is most definitely my favorite bar in Colorado. We sat in there all afternoon on a Thursday and drank local draft beer. The bartender was the friendliest bartender I've ever been around. We asked where fishing was good he literally walked next door got us a map and pointed out best fishing places around. Places like this are few and far between. I recommend this place to people who really enjoy a good bar and not some commercialized hipster hangout. read more

This bar is a DIVE. And not the kind of hipster dive that's like, $4 for a can of PBR and check it out we serve it in a mason jar with a bacon stir-stick, either. Like, a REAL dive. Um, they allow smoking?! Gross, but I'll deal because did I mention it's a DIVE? The jukebox is amazingly awful and the bathrooms are filthy (complete with no TP, one of those disgusting "continuous cloth roll" old school towel dispensers, and a matchbook from a Bail Bonds joint-- in case you have to take a wicked dump while you're at the bar and need to light a match to clear the fumes). There are dead deer heads and dollar bills on the walls. The drinks are stiff and cheap, and the bleary-eyed patrons couldn't care less what you're doing in that corner over there. In short, a fantastic place. Go there now. read more

This little dive has been a part of Pagosa history for years. If you are looking for a fancy establishment, this is NOT your place. I am giving it such a high rating because it is part of Pagosa's history. It is a known dive and people go there knowing this. They have been grandfathered in with the tobacco law and you are allowed to smoke in the bar. If you are a non-smoker and cant stand the smell of smoke you probably don't want to go here because you will come out smelling like a pack of cigarettes. With that being said, let's talk about the good things. *There is an old jukebox in the back with a bunch of different song selections. The songs are cheap. *There are two pool tables if you like to shoot pool. *The bartenders are friendly and know how to pour a drink. They are not overpriced either. *They are open till 2 am EVERY night. If you love dive bars like me this is a true gem in this little town. You will meet some friendly locals that can tell you stories of Pagosa's past and present. It's actually quite entertaining and a fun place to finish off your night. read more

My fiancé loves dive bars, so we had to check this place out when exploring downtown Pagosa. The bartender was personable, but was a little annoyed to be there and explicitly told us she wasn't supposed to be working that day (but can you really blame her for being annoyed?). I was shocked at how cheap this place was... $4.50 for Jack Daniels?! Yes please! The beer was reasonable too. The pool tables were in good condition and reasonably priced at 50 cents per game. My fiancé was a little disturbed by the bathroom cleanliness, but can't expect too much from a little place like this. If you're looking for a cheap place to hang out, would recommend! read more
