Teri's is everything you'd want in a roadside diner tucked away off the beaten path. What really surprised was just how good the food was. Just looking at the menu you'll think "ok, typical greasy spoon type place ". But they are much better than that and do take pride in what would appear to basic diner fare. I went with the buffalo chicken wrap and opted for onion rings instead of fries. The wrap itself was full of crispy crunchy chicken, with the right balance of lettuce tomato cheese. And the buffalo sauce brought just the right amount of heat. I couldn't put the thing down. But the star of the show was the onion rings. These are probably the best I've had and it'll probably be years before I have better. Perfect light and crispy, the right crunch, and the tender onion makes a clean break with every bite! You know what I'm talking about--when the rest of the onion wants to slide out of the rest of the ring? Atmosphere is charming and fits what you'd expect for this kind of establishment. Owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable. I'm looking forward to returning when the daily special is bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes. If it were not for the, Illinois 66 Passport, I would have never discovered this tiny little diner. Teri's was not part of the original Mother Road, but her decor and themed diner pays tribute to that historical highway. Being retired, I am on a mission to experience all 66 businesses listed inside the Illinois 66 Passport. I'm experiencing the ones close to home first and then I'll work my way up to Chicago. Teri's use to be in the Route 66 Antique Mall, but now it's in downtown G City. The new location is spacious and has a minimalistic decor. There's plenty of vinyl records and Route 66 signs covering the walls. After looking the menu over, I opted for an early lunch over a late breakfast. Seeing a Jalapeño Burger on the menu, is what pushed me towards lunch. The burger came with a side of crinkle fries. The fries were extra crispy with a hot soft insides. The burger was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a smash or a thin prepackaged burger. When my burger was served, it was a thick hand pressed burger. It covered the entire bun and the Pepper Jack Cheese draped over the edges. The jalapeños were plentiful and paired well with the onions, too. I give the burger a solid A for presentation and flavor. Teri's and Granite City is not a short drive for me, but it was and is worth the drive. If you're in G. City and getting hangry, give Teri's a try. read more

Went here on their opening Saturday, found one table open yet it needed cleaned. After sitting for over 15 minutes, I walked to their counter and asked for a menu. I reviewed the menu, and after sitting for 10 more minutes, no one had come by to get my order. Never again.......... read more

Expensive and if you pay with a debit card it tax on like six dollars it's ridiculous so here's a tip never pay with a debit card.

Service was too laid back for me. No refills of soft drinks. Server never checked back with us and we paid at the counter. Club sandwich was tiny. Very odd atmosphere. I regret going and wish we had eaten at home. Put a damper on our Route 66 day trip. read more

We have been to Teri's in the last week. I been craving Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Even tho I have never eaten one. Usually my GF gets the chicken wrap. But this day I got it and it didn't disappoint. It's a nice, little restaurant that is located inside the Route 66 Antique Mall. The diner is not a classic Route 66 place, but it does pay a great tribute to the Mother Road, with the decor and the retro jukebox and all. The menu has a lot of things to choose from, and they have daily specials. All had reasonable prices. I went with their Route 66 burger with an extra patty ($2.00 extra and worth it), along with fries. It was very filling. The sandwich had bacon, one big onion ring and lots of BBQ sauce on it. Stopped by Teris diner on way home at 940am . I pull up look at door hours said open 9 am to 6 pm, cool. I walk in there's a gentleman eating at the counter, lady said Can I help you, I said I'd to place a to go order. Lady in back kitchen area said you must of forgot to lock doors after you let so and so in .. the Lady I was talking to became rude and said "Well we don't open til 11 am ". I turn around to walk out door and calmly said well your door says 9 am, you should fix that sign, she damn near pushed me out the door and locked. I thought to myself as a business owner that was down right rude and un called for .. So I went on down road and go wonderful service and fast fresh food . Some colleagues and I stopped here for lunch during a work trip. We all had burgers and they were delicious! Teri is wonderful--we had great service. The staff was super helpful and friendly! We even got some free tater tots (so good)! One of the most entertaining things we saw was a lady rolling in reverse, in an office chair, from the game room. We ordered to go for a fundraiser they're having. This was our first time ordering food from here, and I am so beyond impressed. These items both usually have tomato, but my husband and I ordered without. The Buffalo sauce is sweet and spicy--probably the best I have ever had. They also have good ranch! Fresh and hot when we got it. My husband said the tacos were some of the best he'd ever had. Excellent food and service. I think I've found my new favorite place. read more
