I never have a bad experience at Lottie's Cafe! The staff is always so friendly and ready to help. They have some of the most amazing "daily" creations that the cooks in the back are cooking up, especially when it comes to their soups! The only downside is that the ambiance can be a little confusing. There is a small seating space, with the bar space, but then there is also a small room with gaming machines in them you get to listen to the noise from them while you're here. The people here are always super friendly and kind though! The vibe is all over the place, but the food and company are great!! read more

No tables were cleaned, except one but I guess it was all we needed! Reuben was made with a spicy boom-boom sauce, too much for me. I wish I'd taken a picture. Tuesdays are usually Taco Tuesdays with incredible pork and chorizo tacos and Baja chicken enchilada soup. But tonight is Fat Tuesday so they offered Gumbo. Wow! We've enjoyed lots of gumbo in Louisiana which couldn't compete with this. So good. And bartender sweet Colleen offers the BEST dessert martinis. Tonight was mint chocolate chip. Incredible! Okay, please don't let the face of this cafe turn you away. While traveling Route 66 from Chicago, we stopped overnight in East St. Louis, il. This morning we decided to find a restaurant for breakfast. Using Yelp, again, I found this cafe near the largest ketchup bottle in the world. We opened the door and found the cafe "packed." Only one table was vacant which we grabbed. A large selection of breakfast and lunch items, but wanted breakfast. Our server, Athena, recommended the "Breakfast Stromboli; see the picture. Since we wanted to share, Athena said that was the perfect breakfast. Oh my, what an unexpected breakfast !!! Plenty of food for my wife and I. Traveling Route 66 and the place we were heading was closed so I searched and found Lottie's. We met Dallas upon arrival and he got us squared away with coffees and waters. My buddy had the ultimate breakfast sandwich and I was thinking biscuits and gravy but after chatting with Dallas I went with eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a biscuit with gravy. Definitely a hidden gem. Did a Google search for breakfast and this came up. Drove up and I had second thoughts. The place has blacked out windows and says "gaming inside". I wasn't sure what to expect. I decided to give it a try and wasn't disappointed. I walked in to a pleasant atmosphere that was quite busy for a Tuesday morning. I was immediately greeted and waited on. I told the server how I was suspicious based on the outside looks. He said all the locals know the truth! I believe I found the place to fill a void in my life. My wife and I stumbled into Lottie's accidentally after hitting the small Walmart next door. Just trying to play a couple slots while we didn't have the kids. But when we walked inside the atmosphere was not what we expected. Walking in there were patrons sitting at dining tables with amazing looking, elaborate dishes. Not a bag of chips from a "snack bar" joint but a full blown menu with a breakfast page that's served ALL DAY!! OMG. Just past the happy folks eating their delicious food, was a full service bar with a welcoming bartender engaging us right away and telling us about the benefits of Lottie's. This place completely impressed my wife and I. The background music was loud enough to enjoy while conversations with others could still be heard. I've been there twice and each time service and servers were impeccable. My grandson had a flatbread pizza and side salad and both were hearty. I had French onion soup with a salad and left part of my meal there because I was "full as a tick." Our tab was about $37 and that included one soda. Lottie's also has daily specials that are less expensive. We did not have the specials. read more

Employees wear masks and tables are spaced apart. There are also some small tables out front on the sidewalk, which is where I sat. Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day, and I especially love it when it's done in a new, different way (for me, anyway). I had the Breakfast Stromboli and it was amaaaazing! He introduced us to the menu and his favorites. As we were sitting there, you could tell many of the people that came in were regulars. Dallas would communicate with them like they were family. My hubby found this little cafe when he was out and about. He stopped in and had an omelet. He said it was good, so a week or so later he took me back because I love eating breakfast out. It's a small place with gambling on the side. It has slot machines, which do not interest me at all. But, if you're into that, there ya go. There was no one in eating, so we had our pick of tables. I think there are only like five plus bar seating. We sit at a table surrounded by hanging clear shower curtains due to Covid-19 obviously. The things poor business owners have had to come up with, is ridiculous. The lady who owns the place, I'm assuming Lottie, is very friendly and at our table quickly. Hubby got the chili and said it was great! I got the sunrise breakfast. It comes with two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast! It was pretty good. I like my eggs a bit fluffier and my hash browns a bit hotter, but not bad. It's nice to have a place to go where you can get breakfast anytime. I'm not sure breakfast will always be available, this might be Covid related, but I have a feeling that Lottie will be happy to make whatever you want...within reason. Nice newer cafe in Collinsville . My husband and I grabbed dinner here recently and the service was great. Quick and friendly . I had a grilled roast beef which was on point with the French onion soup (old Famous Barr recipe). I didn't love the French onion soup as much , nothing wrong with it but just wasn't my taste. My husband had a turkey bacon sandwich with a walnut strawberry salad. He really enjoyed the salad and he also liked the sandwich. Nice fresh lettuce and strawberries. They have gambling machines here in a side room and there were multiple people playing.
