This is absolutely, hands down, the best toy store around. Not only do they have the cutest stuff, but the owner, Nicki, is truly dedicated to her customers. They just received a shipment of Nee Dohs, and she put a limit on how many each person could buy--unlike other stores that let customers purchase the entire shipment. I was able to buy one for my son and one for his friend. All of her staff are wonderful. I highly recommend this toy store. read more

Growing up, Teri's Toybox was our main go-to toy store near the house. It had a good amount of floor space and fun displays with a variety of offerings. Both my sister and I collected TY Beanie Babies growing up and each time TY released new beanie babies, we would try and come here to see what they had. The toys were magical to each of us and fortunately our tastes were different enough that the items we wanted did not really overlap. This was great for us and our parents as we did not mix up whose beanie baby was whose. We were appreciative Teri's Toybox had enough different toys we were not forced to get the same ones if we wanted one. We found a treasure trove of other cool items here throughout our childhood as well. More recently, it has become a site of searching for toys for kids of family friends or church care packages. The floorspace has been reduced and the displays are a bit more cramped together than they used to be, though they still have a variety of offerings. The music played can be a little odd for being a children's toy store, though plays a little quieter so it is not so jarring. read more

I really, really don't understand these awful reviews! I wonder if it's people having a hard time with the mask requirement. I guess I can only share my experiences which was VERY positive. I've been to the store twice. The first time my almost 1 year old was chewing a little bit on the box of a toy that I was going to buy so one of the employees kindly offered to hold what I was going to purchase behind the counter which was super helpful. I had a stroller so the small space was a little tricky to navigate, but that was the only challenge. I am truly amazed by the quality of the products they stocked and also impressed by the wide selection they are able to fit into a small storefront. There wasn't a single junky toy in the store! Not to mention the prices weren't super marked up, like you see at some boutique toy stores. If you like Jellycat brand stuffed animals, you have to check out the store! She has more in stock than any other store I've seen. I think even more than online retailers. I was hoping to purchase a couple of them that were in the window display and she took her time to get them out which was tricky while the store was still open. I highly suggest checking out the store if you want high quality toys at reasonable prices. read more

Never again. This place has the most unfriendly staff. It's a toy store for goodness sake. They are ridiculous with their insane mask policy and the fact you can't touch anything because of "Covid". Good heavens. Also very overpriced. Will never be back or recommend. read more

How are you going to own a business geared toward children and be so unwelcoming? Do yourself the favor and go else where. If you're interested in finding a toy store that is unwelcoming to children and their parents alike, look no further. Every time we visit I want to leave immediately and tire of giving them my business. Because of how rude the customer service is, the store has been useful for finding toys and then ordering them on amazon. This is a cute shop but I will reiterate what others have said over the years that the owner is rude and clearly does not like kids. She watches the kids like a hawk and never smiles or says anything kind. For someone who owns a TOY store, you would think the owner would enjoy seeing kids come in. I love this store with my whole heart! I'm in downtown Edmonds every two weeks and i always make a point to visit the shop! The staff has been nothing but kind even though I come in right before closing sometimes (sorry!) They have good covid precautions and just generally create a very welcoming atmosphere. I'm a pretty serious plush collector and I'm thrilled to have a local store I can support with friendly people I can chat with instead of just online ordering everything. Having read the reviews before coming into the store I was nervous about how the customer service would be. All I can say is all of the employees have been nothing short of excellent with me. They currently have some of the plush toys (jellycats) blocked off for Covid purposes. My first time into the store a blonde employee noticed me looking at them and let me enter the section to peruse before making my selection. My second time into the store was even better - a nice brunette woman happily entered the jellycat section and let me feel as many plush as I liked several times over. The cashier was also super nice (Asian woman) and another associate (redhead) helped answer some questions I had about their stock. Will definitely be returning!! read more

Love the shop. I try to always get gifts here for the birthday parties that my children go to. Really cute locally owned business. We can always find some thing for every child, even though the store is small. Great variety and good quality products. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of the products. I live in the area and have been shopping at Teri's Toybox for my son, Joe, since he was born (he's now turning 9). I'm surprised to read some of the negative comments & have never experienced anything but positive interactions. I've seen parents letting their kids run around, picking up toys from the shelves and not caring their kids are acting like they're in a public park. The staff is nothing but gracious and helpful. I've never experienced anything but amazing customer service. One of my favorite things about them is their great recommendations when we're shopping for either Joe or bday parties for his friends. Teri's is a gem in Edmonds and it's a must- visit if you have kids and want to buy good quality and unique toys. read more

I've stopped by Teri's Toybox a handful of times over the years, but I just needed to give a shout out to the staff working there. I went in yesterday in a bit of a panic over what to buy my 9-year old nephew for his birthday - the original gift I ordered online wasn't going to arrive in time for his big day. Even though the store was busy, one of the ladies who worked there took the time to chat with me about my nephew's "likes" and helped me pick out a Lego Chain Reaction set. Super thankful for the help and would definitely recommend this store to others! PS - My nephew loved the gift! read more

Okay so the toys are good but it's just not worth it to shop there when the owner obviously doesn't like kids. Snarky to say the least. She hovers over kids and watches their every move. There was a squeaky toy that my son squeezed once and she barked "okay that's enough". They have display toys out that kids are supposed to play with, you'd think anyway, but if something falls on the ground...watch out. They're toys....they're supposed to be played with! Every time I go I leave feeling annoyed that I supported this place. I will say the only person that we've had issues with is the owner. (And it seems she's always there.) The other employees are fine. I can't say enough good things about Snapdoodle in Kenmore or Top Ten in Greenwood. I wish Edmonds had a friendly toy store. I have bought lots of gifts here because I love Edmonds and want their businesses to thrive. I went in on Saturday morning after they had been shut down by the corona virus and picked up a few things for my grandson just to be supportive. He already had the games I had purchased and the receipt stated that you could exchange within two weeks. My daughter in law tried to do that and was told the owner had changed the policy. No exchanges or returns. Will no longer do business at this establishment. read more

Went in today with my 2 and 31/2 yr old grandsons. Wow......CHILLY is too warm to describe the vibe. No greeting and constant admonishments for "touching" things. I was wondering what a certain toy was and she didn't say a word even though she heard me trying to figure it out. My 3 yr old dropped two of the little trains that are out on a track and she rushed over to pick them up. My 2 yr old pulled a truck off the shelf that was in a cardboard cover and she said "don't touch the cardboard!". All the small cars and trucks are up so high that kids can't see them. Classical music that made me want to jump off a bridge. This place shouldn't be a toy store, it should be a mausoleum. read more

Really nice selection of unique stuffed animals for a special gift. Also lots of nice games, crafts, and art supplies. I can always find something nice at different price points. I've been going to Teri's for over five years, with kids in tow, and I've never had a problem with the customer service. Ok, so my aunt lives up in Shoreline and during a tour she took us to downtown Edmons. She likes to support small businesses and I do too but not when they're run by uptight pretentious people. We walked into this store and my son, being a typical kid, started trying out toys. The woman working told him rudely not to press the buttons because they need to save the batteries. How the hell do you know what something that requires batteries does is you don't try it out??? I could understand if my kid was running around pressing it non-stop but he had simply picked it up and it started making noise. But it's whatever, I'll never go back and I can find the same shit at Target for about half the price. read more

My husband, kids and I stumbled upon Teri's Toybox as we explored downtown Edmonds for the first time today. Walking into the store was love at first sight, both for our kids and for my husband and I! Such a great variety of quality toys, not the junk you find at the big box toy store. ;-) Plan Toys, Hape and Janod were among my favorites there. Yes, this is a higher price point toy store, but the quality of most of the toys there is unsurpassed. It definitely seems to cater to the younger crowd although there was a section for older kids as well. I was already planning future visits for birthday gifts, etc in my head. Why am I only giving this store 3 stars? I wish I could do two reviews on this store. I was not at all impressed with the customer service here. We were not approached once the entire time. I did not find it engaging, as another reviewer commented. As my husband and I were looking at the selection and trying to decide on a fun surprise for our kiddos, I hear who I am assuming is the owner, come up to my two year old. She had taken a toy helicopter out of a box to look at (it slid out easily through an open window on the front of the box -- nothing was damaged or torn in the process) and instead of approaching *us* about it, the woman took it out of her hands and rambled on to her about how "we don't take toys out of the box" and "we need to keep them in the box for someone who is going to buy it". Wow. Really? Should we have been keeping a better eye on our daughter? Yes. Did we get distracted by the awesome toys and our mission to surprise our kids with something there, including the toy my daughter was looking at? Yes. Did she make my daughter feel bad to the point of tears? Yes. That was a total buzzkill and because of that we will never set foot in that shop again. Perhaps the owner should consider placing easy-to-handle toys out of reach of little hands if this is such a huge concern for her. read more

Same experience as many others have mentioned. The staff truly seems annoyed by the presence of kids in their shop. My 2 1/2 year old accidentally dropped a toy (from the activity table THEY PROVIDE!) and immediately said in a rude tone, "pick those up" and then scolded another child who WAS NOT climbing "get down from there". I bought a placemat which the saleswoman said, "oh these are great because they are dishwasher safe" so naturally I washed it in the dishwasher and it's ruined. When I called, the lady didn't put me on hold so I heard everything she said to a coworker- basically calling me a liar. Horrible customer service, annoyed by kids and over priced. Save your money and frustration and go elsewhere. read more

Teri's Toybox has a good supply of fun toys and games for a range of ages. High quality products. Everything from baby toys, to dolls, to science kits and more. I've made several purchases there, and have always received polite, excellent service. Although I do wish they would be better about answering their phone. read more

Fantastic little shop of useful, fun, REAL toys. Wooden stuff, creative stuff, interesting games, arts and crafts stuff, and so on. They have a very large selection of the wooden toy brand "Plan Toys". If you can afford them, that is. They don't have much of the cheap stuff in here, but believe me, it's better that way. The staff always seems very friendly. Definitely stop in if you find yourself in downtown Edmonds. Grown-ups can play too! It's not a very big place, but they choose their stock well. read more

Grandma J - Great Toy Store, always willing to help and make your purchase special for the recipient even when you call long distance from across the state with only a couple of days to the special day. As I have done in the past and did again today and they deliver for me. How convenient. My granddaughters are 8 and 10 and love to visit, the 8 year old almost weekly.
